I went to my doctor and he did a blood test and urinalysis and also scheduled an ultrasound as well as prescribed amoxicillin for 10 days for a throat infection. Nothing turned up. A few weeks later I went back in still having flow issues, he prescribed cipro for 7 days, which helped for a little while and cleared up flow issues. Yup. Zithromax is a good antibiotic. Second to amoxicillin only because its slightly more expensive. In about 3-5 days your symptoms should greatly improve. Make sure you finish all of the antibiotics still though. Chances are your dentist won't be able to do anything for you tomorrow, but will once you can open wider. t ever remember that I had a herx at all. I am now recovering from the flu, and my doctor wants me to take zithromax for the cough that is lingering. I have never taken it before, I only ever took amoxicillin. I am scared to take it because I am afraid that if I do have Lyme this will cause a herx.
