For the last couple weeks, I've been getting continuous insect bites. They are small, reddish bumps on my skin that are mostly appearing on my arms and legs, and they itch like a flea or mosquito bite. They itch for about an hour, and then fade after a day or so. I shower daily and wash my clothing regularly, so I have no idea where this is coming from, and they appear throughout the day. Shortly after the bites started appearing, I spent a week visiting my boyfriend in another city.

After snookling , i fall asleep about 20 min on the sand. When i wake up i got insect bites so many areas on my body espically hands and legs. Itchiness began next day , so i went to dermatologist she treat me ( 1 ) triamcenolone 80 mg IM stat ( 2 ) prednisolone 10 mg b.

Hi Christopher, thanks. But does insect bites impact remain for so long since its now more than 2.5 months. Also new red spots keep on appearing while the older ones are blackening and drying. The swelling is also better in the morning but again increases in the evening...

I was put on Doxycycline but developed a rash while on antibiotic. I stopped the Doxy. and within one week I began experiencing bites on my abdomen, neck and back. I have seen four dermatologists, one that biopsied a bite and said it was a mite, did not know what kind. I was treated with Permithin twice with no luck. The bites have slowed down somewhat but I wash everything twice a day, clean my house constantly and it is driving me crazy. No one else that visits experiences these bites.

I always have a bad reaction to insect bites or stings with really bad swelling. Normally necessitates application of loads of antihistamine cream, taking maximum dose Piriton tablets for days, then a course of strong antibiotics. If I'm in a situation where I know there is the risk of being bitten, is there any advantage in taking Piriton tablets in advance - along with using insect repellent?

Hey there! I was hoping to toss this issue into a post, and see if possibly, someone else may have a solution to my problem, or at the least.. a recommendation. My husband has big bites on his inner thigh, penis, and just under his scrotum. They are itchy and painful. Not mosquito bite. Could it be spider bites. Read up on bed bugs and I don't think that is the answer either. Do you have any suggestions? Could it be baby spider bites??? it itched and it kept becoming bigger and bigger and causing pain in that area etc. shingles can happen anywhere on your body and are spread easily. If not shingles, i'm guessing a poisoness spider? not too sure what symptoms are of that, but i hear brown riclus and widows are pretty dangerous too! i would say get it checked out definently!

Maybe ant bites or other insect bites. I would put rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball and apply it to the bites. The sting helps with the itching and the alcohol starts drying up the poison. Try not to scratch - it only makes it worse.

Thanx for the comments. I'm confident it's insect bites. As I am outdoors on a daily basis in many different environments. And I thought herpes was painful??

Are you sure it's not a rash, rather than insect bites? If in fact it's insect bites, are these bites around the hair follicles? If so, they are most likely chiggers. "Google" the subject to see photos, more info for self-diagnosis, and at-home treatments. I'm a big believer in mild antiseptics, benadryl itch spray, and calimine lotion to treat both rashes and bites. I hope you find relief soon!

I have some type of insect bite (I believe spider) on my stomach that has only gotten larger and itchier in the past few days. I've had all types of insect bites and stings before but never had this reaction. At first, the bite was slightly elevated and red. It was about the size of a quarter. Over the past few days, it's spread out significantly and is still elevated. It's about the size of 3 quarters. It's also dry and bumpy and has gotten more red.

An insect bite is a differential of course, however these insect bites may be reddish and they may be itchy. So firstly, we have to determine if these are indeed insect bites. At first I assumed they were insect bites, however, I had completely cleaned out my house and car with insect spray, and they are still appearing. The first one appeared when I was overseas in Bali 4 weeks ago. It had almost healed when a new lump appeared. Since then, they are appearing more frequently. When I saw my doctor at the start of the week, he said he thought they were just infected mosquito bites.

Also my skin, on my legs especially, gets scarred very easily from insect bites, it takes months and months to disappear,hopefully if it does that.My mother has the same but its much worse and on much more of her leg. This has been goin on for months and i have taken her back to her dr. time and again and he just keeps saying it is insect bites of some kind. I have used just about every kind of antibitic and allergy cream you can think of, it helps but doesn't stop it. Any idea what this could be??

It looks like there is an insect bites you . Avoid scratching the area . Try using a soothing lotion , and if you cannot control itching . Use antihistaminic drug .

I have what appears to be 3 mosquito bites on the tip of my penis and they are red and irritated after taking a shower. I have tried very high potency topical corticosteroid such as halobetasol, betamethasone and clobetasol with some help but after 2 weeks of treatment, comes back itching and non healing.The dermatologist told me about my hypersensitivity to insect bites and that there is nothing he can do different treatment wise, Instead he prescribe hydroquinone 8% with 4% corticosteroid, obviously with no response and even has worsened as the side of the scar became hypopigmented.
