s OK as long as he place is well ventilated.. My hair stylist uses products that are ammonia free so that makes a huge difference.. I just don't like having to sit back with my head tilted for a long time..I actually get up and walk while I wait for the color to process.. Although I do not bleach my hair anymore either.. I was very sick about a month ago and my ammonia level had gone up to twice what is normal. The dr always tells me that my liver enzymes are good. I want to know what stage I am in and what damage is done to my liver. I heard that your enzymes can be fine but damage is still happening. I asked about a biopsy and he said they don't do that anymore. This is the Veterans Administration Doctors. He said it was not just the VA that stopped doing them.
I have seen my doctor and a dermatolgist and both said that the it appears to be bug bites but they were not sure if they were flea bites or bed bug bites.
I have had three different companies come to the house and look around and they all say that I would know if it is bed bugs because by now (over a year suffering) they would be everywhere and we have seen nothing. I even had a friend stay here who knows what bed bugs look like and she saw no indication that we have them.
My daughter brought her two little shitzu dogs to visit for a few days and had not treated them with the flea preventative that she usually uses, because the weather had been cold and she didn't think there would be a problem. Well, we had some warm days and the dogs brought fleas into the house. Both she and I have a bad allergic reaction to the bites and my husband does not. I flea bombed the house and am still feeling bites. I itch all over and develop bad rash.

I get a bug bite sensation, but never a bug sighting. I get an immediate bump that looks like a mosquito bite . It itches for a few minutes but then stops. I get them on all parts of my body. my best friends 2 year old only grunts and uses single words.things like "ca" for car and no-no for nose. i've never heard her say more than 3-4 in her entire vocabulary. she avoids eye contact,picks at herself,bites her nails, has screaming fits multiple times a day that usually end in her vomiting because shes gets so worked up, she cant calm herself down. she doesn't answer to her name, or appear to even hear u talk to her, she's in her own litttle world. im worried.
just avoid henna dyes and make sure your hairstylists (or you) uses ammonia-free dyes as well...both of those absorb into the blood stream more readily than other dyes and are obviously best avoided during pregnancy :-). And as long as the salon is well-ventilated, shouldn't be an issue.
Other than that, go for it! I've dyed my hair with 2 of my 3 pregnancies with no problems...it can really give you a pick-me-up in those mid-pregnancy blahs!
I'm 6 weeks pregnant and I work in a paint department. I mix colors and clean up paint pretty much. Since I've worked there we have always used glass cleaner to clean the paint off the desk and our hands. I didnt know this until today but the cleaner we use has ammonia in it. I've been using it every day for a few months to get the paint off of my hands. Could it have hurt my baby?
We discovered that my husband had an episode of Encephalopathy, which is high ammonia in the blood.

So my question is can this ammonia gone untreated continue to rise and lower on its own. Because he has days that he seems fine and then days when he is not with me completely. I recently found out I had high ammonia, it was 66, I am taking lactalose and it is is now normal. All my blood work is within normal ranges on my liver function test and I also had a sonogram, have a mild fatty liver. Was wondering what could have caused this. I do drink a few beers a night.
Patients with liver disease are unable to process or detoxify ammonia so that ammonia levels can reach dangerously high levels. This is coupled by increased ammonia production of colonic bacteria, especially if one is constipated or has an irregular bowel movement. High protein intake can also lead to an incresed ammonia production. I suggest you talk about these possibilities with your doctors.
every time I suggest it but it works for ant bites and jellyfish stings -- too bad I did not know that before I went to Florida as the hubby got stung. (BTW - I was mad at him at that moment anyway so it was kind of fitting he got stung! --- but then again, I AM a little evil)! :) Anyway, try the windex.

About a week later I was able to get in but my larger bites were almost healed but left scars. I still have been feeling the bites but have not left large bites on my body. The dermatologist said I used to many chemicals and dried my skin out and prescribed hydroxyzine for my nerves. I feel that the bugs or something is still on me and goes into my ears, hair, nose and a lot of other parts of the body. If anyone has experienced this or has suggestions please let me know.
Seems that the sooner they get him on the list, the less $$ it would cost them and the better chance he has to survive longer. He is getting so weak and has a lot of ammonia in his system which gives him the shakes real bad, slurring, and loosing his balance. They have now given him a new medicine which has helped somewhat. A co-worker of his went to China for a kidney transplant and total cost including air/hotel for spouse, etc was $15K. This seems incredible to hear.
