I believe you are not that predisposed to have cough when you take amlodipine because unlike losartan, it does not predisposed you to have infections that causes cough. Nevertheless, before switching medications you have to consult with your physician first.

They started me on losartan 50 mg and amlodipine 5mg. And for some reason it seams like it is not going down, so I went to the ER and they increased my amlodipine to 10mg and adv me to contact my primary dr that following week. Called the dr that next week and he increased my losartan to 100 mg and amlodipine to 10 mg, 1 each per day. However it seems like my bp is still hanging out around the upper 180's.

I was put on BP medication in January 2012. I started off with Amlodipine and Lisinopril and the Lisinopril darned near killed me. The prescribing doctor WOULD NOT take me off it so I just stopped taking it and made an appointment with another doctor. I have been taking 12.5 mg of Metoprolol and 10 mg Amlodipine for about 3 months. I have COPD and something was aggravating my breathing problems. I went to the doctor yesterday and he took me off the Metoprolol and put me on 100 mg of Losartan.

30 i ate breakfast and today i only took 1/2 an Ativan instead of a whole one my Losartan, my Amlodipine, my Metformin and my vitamin d3 ski far no reaction today.

So I was put on amlodipine 10mg and Propranolol 40mg on 1st July 2016. This helped lower my blood pressure to around 115/68. Only problem is that it makes me feel quite tired after little activity like walking. After complaining about this tiredness to the doctor yesterday, he changed my drugs to 100mg Losartan (1 tablet per day) and 25mg Atenolol (2 tablets per day).

My new VA doctor wants to change one of my blood pressure medications from 160 mg of Valsartan 2 times per day to an equivalent dose of 100 mg of Losartan but only once per day. My blood pressure has been controlled for years with typical readings around 118/70 using the Valsartan, Amlodipine 5mg, and a diuretic (hydrochlorothiazide 25mg). I have not made the change yet. 1. Why should I agree to experiment with reducing my primary blood pressure medication and what are the risks?

Are you aware about the combination Valsartan and Amlodipine to treat hypertension in high risk patients? How its is better than Telmisarton and Amlodipine combination?

(stopped working), now just Amlodipine 10 mg. Since taking the Amlodipine 10 mg. for about a week, my blood pressure keeps going higher and higher. Today readings were between 160/90 - 165/125. Also, my lower legs are sore, I have dizziness and feel light-headed, and are extremely lethargic. Is there any light at the end of the tunnel? Is there a cleaner medication with better results and less side effects. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am desperate....

and I suspect Losartan is one of the reason on my leg cramps since my cramps started 2 years after adding losartan to amlodipine

i am 54 yr old lady ,i have hypertention from many years for which taking medicine amlodipine basilate IP 50mg but from few weeks there was flactuation in my blood pressure sometimes it went on lower side and sometimes normal then i consulted my physician he reduced the dose to 25mg and ask me to eat things when you feel low,i did the same but 6-7 days back i measured my BP at home, it was on lower side and i to was feeling very dull and low so i had something to eat still had no relief and slow

I do eat pretty clean on occasion will eat fast food on vacation. etc. Is there a counter active process of which my losartan (50mg) and amlodipine (10mg) are working against the natural supplements? I have stopped my meds and taken only bp supplements but bp is still elevated. I do take on a daily basis D3,zinc,quercetin,a multi vitamin, turmeric,a small drop of iodine, nitric oxide several times a week before a work out and a probiotic digestive pill.

IS THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS TAKING COMBINATION OF TELMISARTAN &AMLODIPINE FOR LONG TIME

Clonidine, Glimepiride, Byetta, Metformin, Amlodipine, Crestor, and Losartan HCT. Is it possible that it could be these meds? Please help!! I'm working by tail off and still have a GUT. Thank you in advance.

Stopped Lisinopril for a little bit and felt much better- unfortunately my blood pressure went a little up. Then my PCP substitute it for Losartan- have been taking this drug/25 mg/ for a week and feel extremely dizzy and nauseated. The cardiologist suggested to cut Carvbedilol in half/so now I am taking 3.125 twice a day instead of 6.25 and my chest pain almost disapear. I don't know if Losartan can cause this or just switching drugs my body needs more time...?
