587778 tn?1261397118 Are you sure she had a reaction to albuterol? I can easily see the steroid as the culprit, but albuterol surprises me. Of course, if you overuse it you will get a fast heart beat, but in moderate amounts it is usually OK. I use it and I also take an antihistamine.
Avatar f tn Headache on left front side with a crazy visual aura, took zomig, hour later took ibuprofen 600, albuterol sulfate and Ritalin. Cold and hot feeling across skin, mostly on right side, nausea, joint pain, burning pain in abdomen and chest, dizzy, tired and short of breath. Migrating sharp pains across body. Ringing ears. Vision is unnaturally blurry. Chest and stomach symptoms worsen when laying down, head symptoms worsen when standing up.
Avatar f tn My physician has prescribed both Advair 50/250 and Spiriva, along with Pro Air p4-6h prn and nebulizer treatment (Albuterol) q4-6h prn. I am still having problems breathing. Is it okay to take these all at the same time? Will there be any side effects?
Avatar f tn The second attack caused him to be hospitalized during treatment because he was not responding well to 3 doses of albuterol via nebulizer and had low oxygen sat. (88%). Both of the epsiodes occured during a cold/virus. My Dr. is reccomending a once daily pulmicort treatment for prevention purposes. I am a little hesitant to be giving him this at such a young age and only a short time of displaying these symtoms.
1987536 tn?1337916244 Albuterol doesn't bother me as much as advair after reading bunches of articles :(
Avatar n tn There's a difference between "exercise induced asthma" (EIA) and asthma. I know, I'm a college wrestler and I have both. And yes, I was prescribed albuterol as a prevention medicine before every practice and every match. If you read the prescribing info for albuterol, you'll see very clearly that it is both a rescue medicine AND a preventative treatment for EIA.
Avatar f tn I have never had this in my life. He sent me home with a breathing machine and albuterol. I also took steroids for 5 days. The last time i used the albuterol was on sat. I cant do it anymore. I have had palpitations that will not go away! They do not feel fast, they are slow, and almost like my heart misses quite a few beats. This is non stop. I dont know what to do. I am a smoker and also have panic attacks so u know..I am freakin out!
Avatar f tn I wrote in to this website when my son was 4 years old and started with transient motor tics, right after having two back-to-back illnesses (with a high temperature) and also after being treated with albuterol for severe asthma. His tics have not been as bad as they were the first time he started having them, but are still present at times. He is also growing out of asthma.
435139 tn?1255460391 The problem I had with mucomyst is that it caused bronchospasm with me, even with a albuterol treatment (you should always do mucomyst with a bronchodilator, it is an irritant). I also have significant asthma and am on long acting meds for that as well. It did do its job...it thinned my mucous but the side effects were too harsh for me (the med also smells like rotten eggs!) You may do better however...everyone is different. But be careful with your asthma....
Avatar f tn Hi, Salbutamol is contrindicated in asthma. It is a long acting beta2 agonist that can be dangerous for asthmatics to take without an inhaled steroid. Also, they take too long to be effective which makes them useless as a resuce inhaler as you have been trying to use it. I would recommend that you request further testing from you doctor. The methylcoline (sp?) challenge is the standard and definitive test for asthma. You are give puffs a methylcoline to try to induce an asthma attack.
Avatar m tn Once an asthma attack has started the tester should stop the test and start administering albuterol instead of the methylcholine. The short term side effect would be an asthma attack. I have not heard of any long term side effects. Some doctors will test a patient on albuterol instead ordering the methylcholine test. If the albuterol helps their symptoms, they conclude that the patient has asthma. Take care.
Avatar n tn I'm a 44-year old female, with asthmatic allergic response to cats since childhood. I smoked off and on from 18-39, about 5 pack-years. I've lived near a cat (outdoors with access to my husband's study) for 18 years, and have treated my asthma with albuterol, adding ventolin when necessary. About 12 weeks ago I caught bronchitis, then wildfires broke out near my home that made the air unhealthy for about 2 weeks. This provoked a severe asthma attack -- for three weeks.
Avatar m tn Hi. I've been on these boards a long time. My last failed treatment had to fail because about 9 weeks into the treatment, I developed retinal hemmorhaging. My husband (we've divorced now, but not because of this). He had to do my shot that night into the back of the forearm because I felt so awful. As he prepared the medication, I had to keep correcting what he was doing.
7730563 tn?1393781747 I had an asthma attack and had to go to er. They gave me a breathing treatment and an albuterol inhaler. I use it as needed. It's perfectly fine and safe.
Avatar n tn im 15 weeks and on albuterol inhaler and when my doctor brough up my asthma to me at my last appointment she told me not being able to breath is more of a risk to my baby than taking my albuterol. id assume the same is true for you. if they dont think that inhaler is safe for you or baby anymore, maybe they can switch you to something to use during the pregnancy that will help you breathe.
Avatar f tn The same applies to use of Foradil. Using the expectorant before treatment optimizes the treatment.
Avatar n tn re suffering with CHF. There is a treatment they can do to help clear your lungs. The medication is Albuterol, and it's administered within a breathing treatment. They don't like to use it, but sometimes the benefit outweigh the risk, and this is one of those times. It takes about 20 minutes, but it works quite well to restore breathing, and it dries the fluids in the lungs. The lasix would be a great medication for followup, after the Albuterol.
Avatar m tn Another common treatment for lung infections is an albuterol nebulizer treatment and using a albuterol inhaler for a few days at home. This opens up the airways and helps make it easier for the person to cough up mucus. Also, did she have a chest x-ray? This is important diagnostic test to see what kind of infection she has. Hope she feels better soon.
Avatar m tn Can someone give me either the symptoms or the timeline for an Ibuprofen overdose? And what's going to happen if I don't get treatment? I've taken approx. 40 200mg ibuprofen tablets, 32 hours ago.
Avatar n tn I am an asthmatic that uses a steriod inhaler called Albuterol. There are times that when I have had to use my inhaler more often that I have developed Thrush. I notice today that infact I have it again. Tale tale signs creamy patchy regions and pretty sore. Usually I call my doctor and he prescribes Nystatin however I also have a skin rash that was diangnosed as bacterial in nature and was prescribed Erythromycin. I have not started the treatment yet. Will the Erythromycin work for my thrush?
Avatar n tn I overdosed two days ago on ibuprofen and still feel off. Should I seek treatment? Would it still help? Would I be a suicide risk?
Avatar f tn My daughter has fallen asleep twice during her Albuterol treatment, is this normal?
