abscess on arm

My right elbow has been very sore for about a month now, when i lift anything it hurts all the way down to my wrist, two days ago the tip of my elbow became very sore and now has a bump on the tip that is about quarter size, i popped it and it was a little puss bump, it seems to be getting bigger in size and more sore.

I have on bump on the outside of my arm about 2 inches below my elbow. It looks like it has a little hole in the center of it. I've had it about a month now, but the last week it has gotten a little bigger and hurts if I push on it. Last night I was actually able to squeeze white stuff out of it. Is this something I should get checked out or should I wait another week to see if it goes away on its own?

I know it may sound really strange but I am in so much pain from recurrent abscesses. The abscesses are usually on my leg or in my arm pit and under my breast. I had one in my rectum area too. I had been to the doctors so many times and put on dicloxicillin which seemed to help at the time, yet they still kept on recurring. i don't know what to do.......

Well He has recently started using meth. I noticed a large lump on his arm above the bend of his arm. He says it's probably an infection due to his eszcma and him scratching it. Could this be true or could it be from him shooting up meth?

I don't no wot causes it but my I'm in pain. I was told to get bicarbonate soda mix into a paste spread it on covering the abscess an it will draw it. did tht it's still thr. so much pain this is my 2nd one I've had since being pregnant but I've had 2 at one time. hurts like he'll get shooting pains threw it too jesus I could scream with it ladies kills too touch it.

I have had a painful lump on my side a little below my arm pit area for probably a couple of weeks. It has become increasingly painful and swollen - I went to the doctor today and she cut it open and drained it but it still hurts like crazy and is still swollen. She prescribed an antibiotic which I started tonight and said to come back Thursday or if I couldn't change the dressing myself to come back sooner and they would change it. Has anyone experienced this? How long did it take to heal?

As I laid there I could feel the infection draw through my finger into my hands and down my arm. I turned on the light. Look and saw the red line and knew I was in deep S..t. After a very long night in the ER, I was moved to the heart hosp because I was now in heart issues. The hand dr came and and within a few minutes had it all figured out. It was "STREP" No not STAFF- STREP.

i have a condition i have sufferd axcillary abscess under both arms for 9 years i am now 24 weeks pregnant and have an abscess under my left arm will this harm the baby in the womb and how can they treat this and what can they give me for pain because this is the 2nd night i have been up all night with the pain many thanks

I have gotten 3 of these in the past 2 years now. It comes up in the exact same spot on my arm pit. I have had it cut out and drained once, and been on antibiotics every other time. It will go away for a while then it just comes back. I can not wear any time of deoderant, even spray on because it just irritates it even more. Please help.

I normally get these all under my right armpit, but my most recent ones are two under the arm and on the lower half of my back which in turn is stopping me from walking, laying down, sitting down or standing for too long The pain is excruciating and no doctor seems to know what's wrong with me I see a specialist on Feb 4th I'm sorry I can't give any answers, but I just wanted to let you know your sister isn't alone x

It could also be an abscess. Normally removal of a lump is a simple procedure and you know that as you had one removed on your arm. However if you are having a funny feeling about this lump, maybe you can seek a second opinion. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage without examining you. I continued to take it again but I developed another abscess on the preannal position. I am afraid it will force me to discontinue the therapy. Judging by your description, it is most likely a fistula which is a tract that forms from the abscess of your infected tooth that escapes out to the gums. As long as the fistula in intact, your abscess can drain and slow down the spread of the abscess but if the fistula closes up, the abscess can spread rapidly through your face or neck area. I would recommend seeing a dentist and getting treatment started.

The other possibility is muscle injury (either bicep or tricep), arthritis of shoulder joint, rotator cuff injury to shoulder joint, clots in the deep veins of the arm, abscess in the arm etc. However since you have had orthopedic consults chances of shoulder injury may have been ruled out. The old collar bone injury could be causing nerve impingement. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Hope this helps.
