abilify reviews for depression

Taken several SSRIs in the past for anxiety. Adderall XR for ADD, Wellbutrin too. I have been seeing a therapist for about 4 months and he had me go for a psychiatry evaluation a few days ago. The two concrred that I am "complex" and could be a combination of BiPolar 2, Adult ADD and even...Borderline Personality Disorder (god I hate that name). Anyhow, one of the main symptoms we all agreed upon was the mood swings.

m 45 year old woman and there is lots of family history of mental illness on both sides. I was on prozac for 4-5 years for depression. my new physc put me on lamictal..once i went up to 200mg i felt very very spacey so i am back down to 150. about 5 weeks ago she took me off my prozac and on lithium. I started at 300mg then moved up to 600mg..at that dose i was getting very severe nausia. then last week on tues i started to cry and could not stop..

Abilify is an anti-psychotic med commonly used to treat psychotic illnesses such as bipolar disorder, schitzophrenia, etc. It is sometimes used as an adjunct treatment (in addition to another antidepressant) to treat clinical depression, alrthough I've honestly never heard of it being Rx'ed alone for depression. That doesn't mean it isn't done or that it won't help, I'm just telling you the common uses.

he has been on abilify for 1 1/2 yrs and lamictil about 2 months. He is still extremely depressed. We are worried . Should we go to another child psychiatrist. They are really not sure of dx. He did extremely well on abilify for about a yr.

Abilify is only approved as an adjunct medication for people with intractable depression that nothing else has worked for.

Just started on increase in Abilify. Woke up this morning with stiff neck. How do I know if it's related to taking the Abilify?

ve been on Abilify for 6-7 years and I have random memory loss. It makes me crazy, but the meds help in so many other ways that it's worth the loss for me.

gain and titrating up on Lamictal for obvious mood swings. Idk, Abilify worked well for me with Zoloft for approx 8 years. Good luck to you!

I am really into natural health but my depression and bi polar started causing alot of problems in my personal life so I started seeing a phyc doctor and he has put me on Wellbutrin and Abilify. It has helped my mood swings and my depression but somtimes I feel muscle stiffness and fatigue, I told my phyc. doctor and he perscribed somthing called benztropine and trazadone hcl for sleep.. so now I have these extra pills for the side effects of the original pills!

Actually Ativan is more for anxiety and Abilify is more for depression but it can also help with anxiety. This is common practice, trust in your doctor. Best wishes.

Abilify is now being marketed for those with depression. But it was used in clinical trials for bi-polar disorder... This is a strong anti-psychotic so please be careful.

After years of continued difficulty with bouts of depression, anger/irritability, sleep, I saw a new doctor in 2015 who prescribed Abilify 5mg along with Adderall. He mentioned that he thought I continued to have issues because of the Prozac but did not officially give me a diagnosis. I immediately saw the benefits. However, at the end of 2016 I went through a severe bout of depression and discontinued the Abilify.

I took Effexor for quite awhile. For depression/anxiety. I sweated constantly, loss of appetite, and lowered my libido. I just recently saw an ad for Abilify I was curious about that medication. Depending on how chemically imbalanced your body is the Effexor for me worked in a matter of a few days I could tell the differnce. The doctor says it would take up too 3-weeks for me to notice a change, but I was seeing a difference as well as my family in a matter of a few days....

I am on Lamotragine (Limictal) now for my depression and I think it works well. I am on Risperdal for my mania, and I think it works great for that. Yes though taper down! I am sure you can find some other med that works for you to replace the abilify also??? Be careful with yourself...please.

I have recently been reading about the blood sugar issue. My son is taking seroquel now but as he is not diabetic, I have no idea what it is doing to his blood sugar. He's also currently on a very low dose of 12.5. I guess it mostly makes him sleepy and unfortunately, too sleepy as he doesn't like it. I like it because it gets him to stay asleep all night but with severe depression, I know it's probably not doing anything for mood at that dose.

Does anyone know much about the drug Abilify? I have been taking the lexapro for a few weeks, and not sure that it is the right drug for me. About four days after I started taking it I felt really stranged, confused, depressed. I started the med for anxiety/panic. Not feeling as bad now, but still alittle down. I took lexapro a year ago for just about a month, but did not have this side affect. The dr said we could either change antidepressants of try taking .5 of the lexapro and 2.

You need to start with a Doctor who treats you for depression, you are not getting this at the moment. You can get well very quickly with the correct treatment. The medicaine you are on is not a treatment for depression. Find a better Psychiatrist.

My doctor has titrated me up on the Abilify gradually. My question is for anyone who take 15 mg of Abilify for depression. Have you experienced any side effects? When you're depressed and trying to get your medications right it just isn't fun. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Since for us driven manic by AD, if you beat depression without an AD then no more depression for start the first face of the coin, and by not taking an AD then no second face too i.e. no mania. So by not having neither depression nor mania then no BP. Simple. I also demanded from the forum to start looking for an AD that doesn't bring mania. Although nobody came to rescue me by suggesting one, i tried in the meantime lexapro/cipralex, seroxat/paxil/ some tricyclics, stablon/coaxil etc..
