My insurance prescription coverage only covers generic drugs and since there is no generic drug for Copaxone it would cost me $10,000 for a 3 month supply! I obviously do not have that kind of money, not really sure who could afford that but anyway... I was working with Shared Solutions and their medication assistance only to be told that I was inelidgeable for the assistance.
There is the Patient Assistance Program where the pharmaceutical company that produces the medication can provide free coverage if a person falls between the gaps in insurance coverage and meets certain eligibility criteria. See if your medications can be covered in that way. Also there are other forms of assistance as well.

I live in a very small town outside of Tallahassee and have no insurance so my treatment choices are somewhat limited. I was refered to Vocational Rehab which is a great program in Florida. The ENT man I saw out of Tallahassee is the best and he told me there are no Psedomonas carriers as they are all dead. Most people with CF have problems with Pseudomonas but with the right treatment, they don't die from it. My Dr.
since this is a non elective tretment i dont have a choice but to get the treatment, but i do need help paying for it. Is there any kind of program that will help me offset the copay cost for this program?
Since MediCAID is a state funded assistance program (unlike MediCARE which is a federal program), what they do and don't pay for may vary from state to state and sometimes even from county to county. For the best information, I'd suggest you contact your local Social Services Office that you applied for the Medicaid through - they should be able to tell you if the medication is covered, or at the very least, be able to tell you who to contact to find out.

Call a program called PEGAssist. You'll find them at www.pegasys.com or call 1-877-734-2797. They are actually very helpful and have covered the costs of many peoples medication, both the copegus( ribavirin) and the pegasys(peginterferon-alfa-2a) which are used to treat Hepatitis C. They are connected to the manufacturer,Roche.

We were at our local Childrens hospital last night to have a very large one drained. She was on Zyvox during Thanksgiving and we were free of abscesses for 3 weeks. That is the longest she has gone without having one. We have seen an Infectious Disease doctor that doesn't offer us much hope in getting these to go away.
You could apply for Janssen Ortho Patient Assistance Foundation Patient Assistance Program. Patient assistance programs offer free medication to people who otherwise cannot afford their medications.
Alternatively, Wal-mart offers generic methylphenidate for $4/month. Concerta is a special formulation of methylphenidate that lasts longer. Generic methylphenidate is much cheaper, but is generally taken 2-3 times per day.
Does anyone know how to get assistance to pay for diabetes medication. My friend has a son that has mental illness. Her insurance has minimal coverage. She needs assistance for his care as well as support. She is a hard working single parent and any suggestions will be helpful. She makes too much money for help, but not enough money to pay for all of the health issues.
