zonegran and hair loss

Hello, I very much need an answer because my doctor will not give me a straight answer. I'm currently on Lamictal (800mg a day) and Zonegran (200mg a day) and I'm a college student so I tend to drink. I've never had a seizure while consuming alcohol but I'm terrified when doing so. So heres my question... When I drink (beer) with my meds, will it bring on a seizure? or just enhance the side effects? Please I very much need to know asap! Maybe even stories would helpl too.

I went off the Zonegran because my hair was falling out and my tachycardia spells stopped. At least I hope so. I also think my meds were causing a lot of my anxiety. I don't have this anxiety attacks since stopping seizure medication. I take butterbur for my headaches and this is suppose to increase the oxygenated blood to the brain. I feel so much better these days.

Hello!!! I was wondering what anyones experience was on Zonegran. I have tried Topamax previously but couldn't withstand anything over 1/4 of a 25 mg pill....thats right 6.25. Went to new NL and he rx Zonegran @ 25mg. I feel like a walking Zombie and have had a worsening (didn't know that was possible) migraine for the last 3 days which is how long I have been on this medication.

Since October I have tried Lortab (3 strengths), gabapentin, Lyrica, Ultram, Relafen, Zonegran, and Trileptal. I am also on Cymbalta and Ambien. Any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated.

I gained about twenty pounds on Trileptal, (a very similar drug), in just a month, and now I am also switching to Zonegran. I'm still in the process of raising my dose, but thrilled that it's working well for your daughter!

I have not been migraine free at all since November, but there have been times where my migraines have been less painful. She wants to try Diamox, but wants to clear it with my Chiari specialist because of the Zonegran and risk of kidney problems (dehydration).

Only in the past 20 days, hair fall has gone up. Does hair straightening dry out the hair causing lack of moisture and thus hair fall?? I truly hope that this is temporary as you mentioned!!

I just finished Sovaldi and olysio and no hair loss at all, in fact hair looked great I do have hypothyroid which is familial, mother , daughters have it, Check your thyroid levels That can effect hair loss, dryness etc( even my eye brows and under arms thinned from hypothyroidism ) You may need to be on thyroid medication such as synthyroid if it is off

I have seen a local Derm who said there was no scarring on my scalp and no real skin issues associated with my hair loss. m natural with no chemicals in my hair and I have never had a problem with hair loss. I went from thick long hair to thin short hair. This is so sad. I'm not sure what to do because my skin has really cleared up from Doryx but if I continue to take it I will be bald with pretty skin! Not a great combination! Thanks for reviews!

t experienced hair loss but have heard this is a (fairly rare) side effect. You should notify your neurologist and report this adverse event to Shared Solutions. Is it possible for you to switch to another DMD if this becomes intolerable?

Hair loss is not a side effect of Lithium, but a thyroid disorder will cause hair loss. See an Endocrinologist for an evaluation, If anything is out of whack in our endocrine systen it impacts all our major organs, as well as causing anxiety and depression. Take care.
