Avatar m tn Hello and hope you are doing well. Insomnia is a side effect of Amitriptyline. But you may develop tolerance to this effect. However if it persists, discuss your symptoms with your consulting doctor he may change the dose or the medications. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn hi i need help, my sister is 8 months pregnant, is on methadone and was just perscribed promethazine, cyclobenzaprine and zolpidem are these safe drugs to mix with methadone and pregnancy? she did just recently switch doctors for unexplained reasons..
1218873 tn?1300091216 I take 900 mg of Gabapentin, 50mg Tramadol, 10 mg of Zolpidem (generic for Ambien). It takes 2 hrs for mine to kick in sometimes but I get about 6 hrs of undisturbed sleep. Many times, when I wake I have nerve pain in my right upper shoulder/armpit area. I have tried all sorts of over the counter sleep aides and this is the only one that doesn't make me feel yucky the next day.
Avatar m tn Look at the prescription bottle to see which company manufactured the zolpidem. For many years a pharmacy sent me 90 day supplies of zolpidem from Mylan (manufacturer) which worked well. Then one time I noticed the color of the pills had changed to white and the shape was a little different. Those pills were from Teva (manufacturer) and gave me headaches, dizziness and a general sense of unwellness.

Avatar f tn I previously alternated between temazepam and zolpidem for sleep. I also take gabapentin. Three weeks ago I stopped temazepam and tramadol. I am taking zolpidem every night now and continue gabapentin 3x a day. I don't crave either of the meds I quit, but I have been experiencing inability to concentrate, ringing in my ears, vomiting, blurry vision, sweating, confusion, anxiety and mood swings. The symptoms wax and wane and I can't find a pattern.

Avatar n tn If I work alone I am fine, in a crowd, I get panic attacks. My doctor in my home country sent me 3 months supply of zolpidem, but customs rejected it. People need to know panic attacks are a real thing, it's not brought on by oneself, as my partner says, oh! get over them, it's easy.
Avatar f tn I USE THE GENERIC WHICH IS CALLED ZOLPIDEM HERE IN EUROPE AND IT IS OVAL AND WHITE. SAME AS THE OLDER FORM CALLED STILNOCHT HERE. I ALSO TAKE A LORAMET WITH IT TO SLEEP. ASK YOUR DR IF YOU COULD HAVE DEVELOPED A TOLERANCE TO THE ZOLPIDEM? GOOD LUCK AND IT IS SO IMPORTANT TO SLEEP.
18070169 tn?1463175914 No UTI, no infections in any of the organs and no stones or anything in the kidney or gallbladder. At this time I was also taking zolpidem every night. I read some stuff on zolpidem side effects and it appeared that after my surgery some of the rare side effects started cropping up. I attributed my anxiety to that. So I quit the zolpidem ct (which I probably shouldn't have) and did have a miserable few weeks, but a lot of the pains I was feeling went away.
Avatar f tn I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to post this in, since I have never abused medications, but I think I might be experiencing withdrawal symptoms from prescription medications, so I thought I would seek information here. 1564517 tn?1314346323 I recently had to switch my med doctor because of my age. I have really bad insomnia and have all my life. I'm usually okay once asleep but I cant fall asleep on my own. I was put on 100mg on seroquel but it was reduced overtime because it was causing me to sleep too much, uncontrollably. I now take 25mg at night. But it still takes around 3 hours after I take it before I fall asleep. Well the other day my new doctor put me on 10mg of Zolpidem to take at night with the seroquel....
Avatar n tn hello!
Avatar m tn My wife has been Zolpidem (generic Ambien) for 20+ yrs. She recently took a job in China and has been told the ultrasound show 'fatty infiltration of the liver'. She is 50 yrs old and drinks only occasionally and excercises and eats well/healthy for the most part. Could her long-term use of Zolpidem have contributed to this liver problem?
Avatar m tn I am prescribed 12.5mg. of zolpidem but my insurance will only cover RX for 10mg. Is this safe to switch?
Avatar f tn Hello Mr. Anderson. Are you still in this business?

Avatar m tn My dad has been taking Zolpidem for over 3 years and recently I found out Zolpidem is used for treating short term insomnia. I'd like to know if it can be used for long term and if whether there are any medications available which can be used for long term treatment.
Avatar m tn Also are there long term effects of zolpidem? I was instructed in class that zolpidem should only be given for short term around a month. My only other medical issue is mild-moderate tourettes that is managed well.
Avatar f tn I have taken 10 mg Zolpidem (Ambien) for years as it really helps me sleep. But I think it may be causing my tinnitus. The only way to be sure of this is to stop taking it for a time and see if tinnitus goes away. So far, I have not taken any for 11 nights and tinnitus is still the same. - A pretty much constant low-pitched noise. How long would I have to stay off Zolpidem before knowing whether or not it is the culprit?
9485899 tn?1537369589 I did call mu doc and left massage yesterday and following up today. .In the meantime i wi try benadryle..His Way/ is zolpidem and unisom over the counter?
Avatar f tn Hi! I think that quitting one drug would definitely be a step in the right direction. Are you abusing the norcos? Are you looking to get off of everything? It will probably be too hard to quit all of that at once. You should definitely check with your doctor to set up a taper plan, or decide whether you are healthy enough to quit cold turkey. We are here if you need support or have questions during the process. Good luck to you!
Avatar f tn I am out of ideas! I have had insomnia ever since I was in grade school. In 2nd grade I used to sleep during the day at my desk because I didn't sleep at night. I quit school when I was 16, it just wasn't working out. I started taking hypnotics in 2008. I think that my insomnia is worse than it has ever been. It affects my life, I fall asleep in the morning hours and sleep well into the afternoon. I currently take 200-300 mg trazodone, 1.5-2 mg clonazepam, and 10-20 mg zolpidem.
Avatar m tn I took 10 mg of zolpidem 2 days ago but since then I have a terrible headache what is to be done?
Avatar f tn The Paxil is 25mg and the Zolpidem is 5 mg. I have on them since March of this year. The doctor told me to take the Paxil every other day for 2 weeks then quit. The Zolpidiem to take as needed. I have only taken one in the last 2 weeks. My last Paxil was last Weds. night, almost a week ago. The nausea and dizziness are not getting any better yet. Any suggestions? Thanks.
