You should ask your doctor about zofran. It worked miracles for me and I had severe all day/night sickness for the first 5 months. He tried me on phenergan with my first pregnancy but I didn't like it cuz of the way it made me feel. All it did was put me to sleep, then when I woke up I just felt drunk and groggy and was still sick as a dog. I loved zofran though, I wouldn't have been able to eat at all or even drink if I hadn't of had it.
So I've been seeing all this negative stuff about zofran causing all kinds of birth defects to unborn babies. I'm 30 weeks pregnant & I've been taking zofran my entire pregnancy, so it's worrying me. Has anyone else taken zofran? What are your opinions on it?
Has anyone taken Zofran and what are some of your side effects? My morning sickness has been horrible...the worst ever. I am usually in bed all day and feeling like I can't do anything. My doctor initially prescribed Diclegis, but it doesn't help me. It made me sleep all day, causing me to skip meals and drinks. It also have me bad headaches. So I asked my DR to please let me try something else. At this point, I'm in tears because I can't keep anything down. Dr calls in Zofran.
I very rarely even took a Tylenol with my first two. I decided that I would only take the Zofran when I has somewhere to go and had to feel better. The problem is that today I didn't take one and I feel terrible. I have vomitted three times and don't feel like eating or dealing with my kids. What is the right thing to do?
If the doc won't give you nausea meds then vitamin B can help with nausea... I'm on zofran, my OB said it's safe, he's experienced as an OB, however; I've seen on this forum that other types of nausea meds are safer in pregnancy than zofran..also here comes tmi...I have had bad constipation from the zofran but it's a good trade to be able to eat and drink on the zofran.
Make sure you drink lots of water. Lots and lots if water. If you have zofran, take it. If not, call your doctor and ask for some right away. Try to eat some soup. Rest. make sure you are staying hydrated!
Does the roxicet have Tylenol in it by any chance? When I was on Percocet, I was constantly vomiting my medication. I switched to oxycodone when they kept increasing how often I was to take it. Even though most people don't have a problem with Tylenol upsetting their stomach, I can't tolerate it.
It can also be a temporary side effect. You don't mention how long you've been on these medications but if you just started, you may adjust to it.
For migraines I had to take tylenol extra strength with coffee and then just icrease my in take of water because of havig the caffeine to keep it away (recommended by the nurse). You can always ask for zofran as well for morning sickness.
I would speak to your doctor about it... Tylenol PM is no the same as tylenol.. and my doctor has always said that regular strength (250MG) tablets are okay to take .... but even then they dont recommend that you pop back 2-3 at a time... If you are having trouble sleeping due to nausea bring this up to your doctor asap....
Zofran is like any other drug. It's a drug. There are tons of medications that doctors say are ok but as always, there are going to be risks. There are different classifications though and Zofran along with Tylenol and Sudafed are considered class "a" which means there is little risk to the baby. I have taken it with baby #2, #3 and now with baby #4. I never had a problem with missed doses because it was prescribed for every 4 hours as needed.
Yea I wouldn't worry my friend is pregnant & in her first weeks she couldn't eat anything or throw it up but with her is sweet stuff she couldn't eat no sweet stuff literally or she would throw it up
I have had really bad morning sickness and the doctor prescribed me zofran and said it would help I took it and it had helped a lot but then today I looked it up and saw what it can cause so Im highly upset they gave it to me . I'm going to stop taking it and just deal with the sickness but can it already have harmed my baby ?
Yep! Welcome to pregnancy!! Lol. I hope you feel better soon. Take Tylenol for back pain and use ice packs if it gets to bad. If nausea is severe talk to your Dr about getting on something for it (zofran is wonderful!
