zofran mg

What do you do when 8 mg. Of zofran is not enough...still feeling like I could throw up any second litteraly brought to tears because of it....what do I do?

Yes zofran is great. Took in beginning of pregnancy and now again towards the end..

Saw doc today, got script for zofran but forgot to ask how to use it. Can someone tell me when you are supposed to take it? Bottle says 3 times a day as needed but can I just take one now and then and how long does it take to work? 4mg. Thanks.

I take Zofran 8 mg every 8 hours. When I was on Incivek I took it about an hour before I was planning to eat and take my inc. Now that I am off Inc., I take it about an hour or hour and a half before my 8 am Riba, again late afternoon, and again about 9-10 pm. If I don't take it every 8 hours I am a lot more nauseated throughout the day and eve.

I think the combination of the Zofran and my hormones caused major headaches, but Zofran is def not optional for me!

m 7 weeks pregnant and I went to the Dr last week and my Dr prescribed Zofran. The problem is everytime I take this medicine, I see the commercial on TV that talks about Zofran causing some birth defects. Is anyone else taking this medicine or have heard these birth defects. Thanks!

ve been on it my entire pregnancy. I used to take it twice every 3 hours 8 mg. Now I take it about every 4 hours 8 mg. They did find a white spot on my baby's heart but said he will grow out of it before birth. But I trust zofran and i also wouldn't know how to eat without it!

I heard the same thing about Zofran they even have a law suit going on about it I hope all u ladies that are taking that are aware of the risks my doc told me about some things I could take over the counter besides the prescribed meds

If that does not work, then you probably need a prescription for Zofran which blocks the nausea and vomiting (which is caused by the drugs). Many of us used Zofran. It works very well for most of us. I took 8 mg every 8 hours for a few months. Don't let this go. It will snowball. If the phenergan does not work, then ask for Zofran. Zofran does not make you sleepy. Phenergan does. Phenergan is cheaper, but Zofran works better (in my opinion). It is used to treat the nausea from Chemo.

yep, zofran is the bom digity....also i went to an asian grocery store and bought some ginger candy and some ginger drops. they worked great too.

I am currently 26 weeks pregnant. I'm currently taking Zofran because I can't keep anything down as far as food. After reading a few post in this group. I hav heard about people using Zofran and there babies coming out with defects or women having miscarriages....

I take 32 MG of zofran my whole pregnancies and have two healthy girls. The dehydration and starvation is potentially so damaging not just for you but for baby too. It's hard not to worry, but relieving your own body's stress is super important for baby and zofran is totally safe.

i tried everything else too- nothing worked. My last pregnancy I used zofran for about a month and my daughter had no problems because of it. This time I had to rely on zofran again. That's so funny! My husband and I are flying to Florida on Thursday and it's also about a 4 hour flight for me! I just called the clinic to see what I should do as I am only like 4 weeks and although I don't have morning sickness yet, I get severe motion sickness when I fly. He told me to take an over the counter, generic, travel sickness medication. The active ingredient is "Meclizine" The pills are 25 mg but they said a starting dose would be 12 mg or half a pill.

is it ok to give 7-8 lb chihuahua 4 mg dissolving tablet for nausea/vomiting (keeps vomiting her water every time she drinks), otherwise she seems to be feeling ok, just having trouble keeping it down 2day, @ 15 mins after she drinks just vomits w/o notice (no hacking like they usually do when they vomit) just comes out seemingly uncontrollably. We already gave her Pepto & she vomited that as well.

I got a prescription for Zofran (8 mg. 3 times a day) and that worked well. I was able to eat real food again. Zofran does not work for everyone but it worked for me. If it does not work, the doc could order another anti nausea med. I hope you get some relief. You have made great progress and are UND. Try to hang in there and get to SVR. I have been off Incivek for a month now and I feel so much better. I bet you will too.

I was taking zofran but i had no side effects then it stopped working so now im on diclegis and it seems to be working:)

I am in the same boat. 10 weeks been in the hospital 2 already. It's the worst pregnancy I've ever had. I'm taking zofran but I don't feel any difference. Doctor said to take 2 zofran of 4 mg. But Im not sure it will help.

I am 47 and have suffered from migraines and headaches for about 6 years. The only thing that helped was Topamax. I used it about 6 years ago for about 2-3 months. Unfortunately, it made me extremely nauseous and my hair started to fall out. I am so desperate for relief that I asked my doctor to try it again, but at a lower dosage. I have a script for zofran. 8 mg.If you get the 4 mg dose and it doesnt work-maybe take 2.It works very well also go to a health food store and get you some ginger candy.Between the 2 you should get rid of the nausea.
