Zofran dosage frequency

Common Questions and Answers about Zofran dosage frequency

zofran

Avatar f tn I have a Chihuahua and she weighs about 3-4 pounds. What dosage of Zofran should I give my sweetie Pie?? She became sick a few days ago, and we are on vacation away from our regular veterinarian. I am extremely worried about her. She is 10 months old and my husband bought her for me October 31, 2013 because I had a Chihuahua that would've turned 13 years old October 7, 2013 but she was killed by my neighbors dog.
Avatar f tn I am taking zofran and it's perfectly safe and a class b drug. The ads on tv are just lawyers trying to get money for a case they can't prove. The birth defects they state are the most common among all babies born no matter a family history or not. Don't be afraid to take it if you need it. If you are that afraid though, look up the study of 600,000 pregnant women in denmark in 2013 that proved it was safe.
564735 tn?1263943526 She is taking the following ani-nausea medicines zofran every 8 hours and taking promethazine every 4 hours. Does anyone have any suggestions to help with the nausea? Also if you are on or have had cisplatin , please let us know what your dosage is and how bad the nausea is? Her intial treatment was ( i think ) 160 mg and it is to be given every 28 days. her DR is planning on either doing a reduce dosgae every 2 weeks or 1 a week to help reduce side effects...
Avatar f tn I started with 2mg Lorazapam and it worked right away . I had nausea right away as that was one of my first symptoms when I got sick. I took alot of ginger for the nausea at first and then I needed something stronger and that's when I took Zofran. The Zofran worked on my nausea right away also. If you take the two together at bedtime, the Lorazapam will help you sleep and the Zofran will help with the nausea.
Avatar f tn They both work pretty good for me..the zofran does work a little better for me though but it makes me so constipated (tmi) and the promethazine will make you so sleepy! I still need both occasionally :/ 32 weeks today!
1711722 tn?1356487554 I was prescribed 4 mg of zofran to take every 6 hours as needed, however that low dosage wasn't working for me so I asked to double up on it to two 4mg pills and I do them an hour before my RBA. I'm not even on Vic yet so I was thinking if it gets worst with Vic I'll change up to Phenergan as some people have said that it (nausea) may get worst after the start of the PI.
Avatar f tn If Zofran is not working, ask for something else. There's many antinausea meds out there that are safe. Keep trying until you find something that works for you.
10033740 tn?1458081962 I'm 8wks and have had morning sickness for 3wks non stop, I could no longer take it anymore, none of the remedies were helping so I went to the ER today because I don't have an appt wit the gyn until the 16th. The Dr prescribed phenergan & I'm a bit surprised. I thought zofran was usually the drug of choice for pregnant women. Anyone else taking phenergan??
Avatar n tn It has been used for dogs but that is a strong drug often given to Chemo patients. I am not qualified to give advice or dosage on that. It sounds like you should be giving your Vet a call if the dog has a vomiting problem and try to determine the cause.
Avatar n tn I take both zofran and phenergan ..I was getting the zofran at first but my insurance only pays for 12 and I can get 50 of the other if you wake up in the middle of the night take one it works best that way ...I'm 27 w and still have bad morning sickness some days are better then others ...
Avatar n tn can a dog aprox 60-70lbs take Zofran for motion or car sickness. for extended 8hr car ride.
Avatar f tn That leads me to my question, is there any point in increasing my dosage at night or should I call my neuro and see if I should be trying it throughout the day instead? Thanks!
1454858 tn?1306784378 You can take two extra strength tylenol at a time. That's what the L&D nurse told me. I'm not sure how many in a 24 hour period, but if you can handle the pain and it's a little annoying, I wouldn't take anything, if it's really bothering you...then take it.
Avatar f tn Try eating some saltine crackers and drink some water and lay down and take deep breaths. That's what I did when I felt sick and it helped me.
Avatar f tn Yeah the Zofran "study" is total ********. It's only if you're getting the 32mg IV dosage on a regular basis that any problems can occur. Those on 4-8mg pills or IV doses are perfectly fine. You can take up to 32mg per day, just not all at the same time. I'm part of a group of 3000 moms, all of who have been on Zofran, and not one of them has had issues from the Zofran. I'm on it myself, along with Diclegis.
Avatar f tn Yip! Sounds just like me.
12380259 tn?1424964291 So I have heard about the Zofran issue and I have talked to my doctor and he talked to his consultant, I have talked to another doctor and a nurse and also researched on my own but I just read these comments on a fb post of all these women taking zofran and there babies had effects from it and I only have taken it if I felt I needed it once I got out of the hospital but now im freaking out reading all that!
Avatar n tn I found the link =) took my brain awhile to wake up :P http://www.medhelp.
Avatar f tn Hi Nicky. I'm sorry about your recent U.C. diagnosis. According to the mfg: "The dosage of Mesalamine 500 mg suppositories (Generic Canasa) is one rectal suppository once daily at bedtime. The suppository should remain inserted for one to three hours or longer, if possible. The normal course of therapy is from three to six weeks depending on symptoms and sigmoidoscopic findings". So the 30 day supply falls within the recommended duration.
Avatar f tn She can recommend a few medicines. She will probably start with zofran which didnt work with my first pregnancy ... but is a life saver right now in my 2nd trimester. I had hyperemesis so my situation was pretty extreme but see what she says. If you can try some of the natural things first I would do that. Honestly no matter what we say everyone's body reacts differently. None of the natural stuff worked for me. Not even gingerale. But it may for you. Good.luck.
Avatar f tn Hello, are you sure you are taking the right dosage of amoxicillin and it's frequency? Infections may re-occur if the correct dosage and frequency is not followed. Try to visit again your dentist to have a right assessment of the situation.
210982 tn?1280983895 Yes although dosage and frequency of usage does matter. In my experience morphine, high dosage oxycontin and methadone are the most effective (and the most addicting) pain killers.
