zofran and phenergan together

My dr prescribed it to me too being dizzy and light headed are some side affects of it and itll sometimes knock me out for an hour or so

All it did was put me to sleep, then when I woke up I just felt drunk and groggy and was still sick as a dog. I loved zofran though, I wouldn't have been able to eat at all or even drink if I hadn't of had it.

My first pregnancy (in which I ended up miscarrying) my doctor tried me on phenergan and 2 other kinds of nausea pills. I honestly didn't like the way phenergan made me feel, all it did was put me to sleep and then when I woke up id be sick as a dog again. But with this pregnancy (I'm 33w+4d), for the first 5 months I couldn't eat or drink anything without it coming back up and I actually lost weight.

I'm 13w3d, but had horrible nausea. It's starting to get better, but not gone completely. My doctor started me with b6 & unisom. Take together at night & helps with sleep. Helped some, but not enough. Was prescribed phenergan & zofran (not to take together). Zofran I haven't taken, but have heard it's amazing. Also heard a horrible side effect is constipation, so I stuck with phenergan.

zofran is usually used to control nausea in cancer patients or for surgery. with pain meds, they usually give promethazine, which is what i take. so in answer to your question, no. i have not taken zofran to the best of my knoweldge.

I'm 8wks and have had morning sickness for 3wks non stop, I could no longer take it anymore, none of the remedies were helping so I went to the ER today because I don't have an appt wit the gyn until the 16th. The Dr prescribed phenergan & I'm a bit surprised. I thought zofran was usually the drug of choice for pregnant women. Anyone else taking phenergan??

t working that well, but our insurance said no because it is much more expensive. There is a generic Zofran now but it also is way more expensive than Phenergan and Compazine. I should have added that Joe didn't do all that much actual vomiting but he had lots of dry heaves. We tried some of the ginger cures also but no miracles there. I didn't give him ginger capsules because they are blood thinning and Joe's platelets are so low that I don't want to mess with that.

If you can afford it, stick with zofran. Phenergan works well but it makes you super sleepy and it also increases the bad side effects of narcotics- like dizziness and light-headedness. Same with phenergan's cousin, compazine. There's reglan as well, but to me it doesn't work as well. If you are taking the opiates for short-term treatment for something like post-surgical pain, phenergan or zofran are likely to be your best options....

I've never heard of that being perscribed in pregnancy, I take zofran and or phenergan ...

I take zofran and phenergan ... Not together but I have to switch because they each have undesirable side effects like severe constipation with zofran and horrible tired drowsiness from phenergan....seabands , lemons, crackers, sprite, ginger ale never did anything for me.... Sometimes carbonated drinks made it worse.... I find if I eat what I crave , and eat slowly not overrating usually I'm okay.

zofran is safe :). there are 2 nausea medicines that are considered safe for pregnancy, and zofran sounds like the better choice for you (since phenergan makes you sleepy, and that's the other option, i think it would freak you out!). every medicine is going to carry warnings, and there will be people who SWEAR that this medicine caused this or that...but that's the internet for you. it is considered safe, and your OB only prescribed it because they felt it was safe....

Talk to Ur doctor about nausea meds. They usually give zofran. So far I've taken zofran, reglan and phenergan. Phenergan makes You tired, So I've been taking That recently Because I'm 24 weeks, still puking and getting nauseous and I'm in pain from The position The baby Sometimes lays in. So It helps to relieve The nausea and helps me sleep too. But zofran works really good For nausea and doesn't make You sleepy.

Nausea is a part of pregnancy. I had a miscarriage 4yrs ago & am now 28wks. I took it as a good sign because I didn't have any other symptoms during my first trimester. Ginger is suppose to help, but maybe talk to your doctor. Mine recommended unisom+b6 which I took at night (makes you drowsy). They also recommended diclegis (specifically for pregos, but my body didn't react well to it). Other options are zofran & phenergan.

If the phenergan is not working call the doc and get a script for ZOFRAN, its more expensive but it works when phenergan doesnt. Zofran does not make you sleepy like phenergan. Phenergan has a nasty side effect of lowering peoples blood pressure.

Honestly i don't know of anything else besides zofran and phenergan, and phenergan is alot worse about making you sleepy. Have you asked your doctor about maybe cutting your pills in half? I dont know how well it will work with the hypermesis, as nothing worked for mine. But it may help you. Also you may be able to do b6 with half a zofran and it have the same effect, just not as tiring.

She is tonite extrememly ill with nausea and headache . Zofran nor Emend bring relief. I take Zofran prn during chemo, along with the E the first 3 days and have not had much of a problem. Is there something else out there aside fro Compazine, Zofran, Emend that she may speak to Doc about? Thanks in advance.

ve read about though. Some women with HG have Zofran pumps they use and their babies come out fine. Zofran is also rated safer than Phenergan (It has a class C rating) and my daughter came out perfect even with how much I had to take. Don't let it get too bad though. No need to feel sick if you have the capabilities to feel better.

Its only 4mg and Ive had it just laying around forever and I felt so much better when I took it but then I felt like crap after I did it because I looked it up online and it said not to take while pregnant!

I was told to take 4-8mg Zofran, but the Zofran did NOT work for me and I switched to Phenergen, which I took round the clock up until 15 weeks. All the home remedies just frustrated me for not working, and at 12 weeks I ended up in the hospital for 3 days because I could just not keep even water down. I was so bitter about, thinking everyone was saying these natural remedies worked when they really didn't! It was not a conspiracy though, I was just past the point where this stuff worked.

I am still getting sick on a daily basis, I'm prescribed phenergan but I still puke once daily which isn't a huge deal, but any suggestions as far as helping with nausea when I am out of my medication?

Ive taken zofran both pregnancies and my babies are healthy. I asked my doctor about the commercials she said its just some attorney that decided zofran was bad and not to worry so im still taking it almost daily.
