last thursday I had taken a zelnorm because i had not had a bowel movement in about a week. since I have not stopped using the bathroom, all day and throughout the night, if i eat or drink anything I have to run to the bathroom within minutes and I have pains and bloatiness in my stomache. this has never happened before when I take the medication. I am afraid to leave the house and I have lost 5 lbs. any suggestions?
ve had IBS with constipation for over 15 years. Before Zelnorm was removed from the market, THATS when the straining REALLY started. My parents & grandparents say I was practically born constipated. So back to my question, is there a chance the strokes came from my bathroom troubles. Any ideas?
I have recently have been diagnosed with Diabetic enteropathy of the colon and my Gastroenterologist has prescribed Zelnorm for this condition.Has this medication been effective in treating Diabetic enteropathy snd what are the gratest side effects? Thank you.
I feel chained to the bathroom and of course never clean. Zelnorm was the beat solution and worked really well but then was taken off the market. What can I do to resolve this ever increasing problem?
Even though my gallbladder tests came back normal, my doctor decided that it probably was a problem with my gallbladder and removed it approximately 3 weeks ago. For about 4-5 days after my surgery, I had no symptoms. However, it has all come back to the same intensity that it was prior to surgery.
Because of the uncontrollable diarrhea, I am afraid to leave my house more and more. Does anyone out there have an idea of what could be happening to me?

IBS is not a disease at all, and there's no drugs for IBS, as I know (my opinion). Zelnorm was even withdrawn from the (U.S.) market last year, now it might be back again.
He put me on Zelnorm and I was free of everything I went to the bathroom easy!! I ate anything I wanted!! They took it off the market ( dahhh I told him that too) And then He left me hanging, started talking about a hernia in my throat. NOT my constipation! Iam doomed here. I was in shape and toned and now Im a blob. Go to a Natural Doctor and get help there. don't take
laxatives! All the things I was taking are from a doctors say so!
I also threw up a couple times. Some new symptoms have occured and it things are getting a little worse. These symptoms affect my life greatly. I feel tired and fatigued no matter how much sleep I get. My digestive system is out of wack no matter what I eat. Doctors dont always know the answers nor do they help. I'm 25 years old. I don't know if I have a disease, infection or what. Any opinion I would appreciate.
Now five years later my left side of my body stomach down is mildly numb and
tingles with very bad spots of shooting pain and always some
mild pain in the heal, inner foot, outer leg, hamstring in the butt and severe unexplained constipation (on Zelnorm ((until discontuned)), now Amitiza), and mild arm pain, chest pains etc. I also get very bad itching or tingling of the scrotum, left side only and anal itching or tingling, left side only.
-) but then hopefully get relief. I take Tagamet also..... Zelnorm was awesome for this but it has been taken off the market/ (gets things moving south if you know what I mean)
Reglan is the only other rx med for this on the market but side effects make it intolerable for some-

I have been through the same thing that lasted almost a week. I finally had to get some prescription strength laxative liquid plus Zelnorm. It was awful and we were at the beach! Just to lay it all out there for you, once the meds kicked in.....I was in so much pain, I was vomiting. I had to don a rubber glove and remove it manually at first! Once I got it started, i was fine after that. I spent the rest of the day on the beach and was fine.

Eryththromyacin is one drug used for it but i am taking Zelnorm a prescription drug. It can have serious effects on me as with the slowed digestion i sometimes go low after eating when i shouldn't. But any GI doctor should be familiar with the disease.
Stress/anxiety/depression can trigger a whole SLEW of physical symptoms (nausea, headaches, flu-like symptoms, rapid heart beat, hot/cold flashes, tingling/numbness, brain "fog"..... the list goes on and on and on).
If you developed physical symptoms since the anthrax scare you may have developed a health-induced phobia. Do you have a fear of dying? Of getting some nasty disease? Anxiety can cause physical symptoms which can compound this issue.
My husband has been experiencing nausea and vomiting (more so nausea) now for over 4 years. He was told he had some stomach erosion and was placed on protonix, with no results. He was told he had over 30 allergies to food and I was wondering should my he be seing an Allergy MD. Diagnosed with - GERD, IBS - but the purple pill or zelnorm treated the problem.
A recent bout of gastroparesis return required a repeat of hospitalizations, dehydration, renal failure etc. I restarted my domperidone after reglan nor erythromycin worked. I also took amitiza aftyer zelnorm went off market. Supposedly I went into CHF due to tyhe Domperidone & a cardiac issue, ICU , adrenal glands shut down, kidneys didn't work. This was miserable I ended up on massive steroids weight gain blah, blah , blah.
As you are having constipation and abdominal cramps while passing stools,it is giving the possibility of irritable bowel syndrome an edge.Uterine fibroids don’t cause such symptoms but ovarian cysts can esp if they are big in size.

I sincerely advise you to consult a gastroenterologist and discuss this possibility with him.
It was latered blamed on the recalled medication, Zelnorm which I had been on for few years. I also suffer from fybromyalgia. Lately I've been experiencing intense pain from my neck and shoulders, including feet, ankles, legs, knees, and joints. Including between shoulder blades. All exacerbated by over extending myself. I'm also under a huge amount of stress due to a very ill 89 year old Mama 600 miles away, making travel a MUST!

In the past I have tried
Erithromicine, Reglan ( both intravenous and orally), zelnorm - I did not gain relief from any of them. The only time intravenous reglan would work was when I was unable to tolerate liquids. A dose of intravenous reglan would get me on track.
Urso- I have tried all different doses of this as well, and gained no results.
