682098 tn?1236908245 I was on birth control for years and used in continuously for months at a time (Yasmin) and it didn't stop my endometriosis.
Avatar n tn m new to the community, see you posted last month. I was on Yasmin, I think its related to Yaz but not the same for about two years. I had some really odd symptoms with Yasmin and begged my dr to take me off of it, since then I was on Apri, which is just generic desogen.
Avatar n tn I had laparoscopy done three years ago, but my situation with endometriosis was serious, and after that I started taking Yasmin (i did't felt any side effects that were serious). After the lap, I lost my right ovary, but I am still able to have a baby. So, don't worry about that. Maybe it will be a little bit harder to conceive, but that's it. I know many women that had these kind of problems and had children.
Avatar f tn However, birth control hormones may slow the long-term growth of endometriosis. Like all hormone therapies and surgery for endometriosis, birth control hormones do not reduce symptoms in all women. I hope that now it's more clear for you! I am glad if I helped a little. Have a nice day and take care!
5121963 tn?1363905257 I had smaller problems with my left ovary, so after the lap and in the next 5 years I was on YASMIN pills for stopping the endo from growing. After these 5 years I had a punctuation done, because one of the cysts became bigger and after that I was on ZOLADEX shots for six months (in a condition of menopause - awful side effects!!!). After that I started with Yasmin again and stopped after one years in order to TTC.
Avatar f tn Since then I was on Yasmin birth control pills, had a punctuation and was on Zoladex shots for sih months in order to save my left ovary, because I have cysts and endometriosis on it too. I stopped taking Yasmin pills year and a half ago in order to TTC, but nothing happened, so I wanted to try insemination, but my gyno said that I had one formal cyst and one endometric cyst and they are big, so the next step he sais is laparotomy and than In Vitro procedure.
Avatar f tn Definitely go see an gyn that specializes in endometriosis. I had symptoms such as yours in the beginning and ignored then until one of my ovaries ruptured and I was faced with emergency surgery. They can preform an ultrasound and other tests that can help determine where you are with it if you even have it. I would just say that nothing good will come from waiting on it. Just go.
Avatar m tn After the ecography he explaind me that my left ovary is filled with menstrual blood, because of endometriosis. He gave me Yasmin for one month, and than we tried again for other 2 months and still nothing. My husband's spermiogram resulted ok. Now my question is: Are This 12 months of infertily normal, because my right ovary seems normal. The doc suggested me to stay calm, because im young, and stress isnt good for the fertility problems. should i trust him.

456874 tn?1218139741 I have been on CONTINOUS Yasmin for about 5 weeks and I started to have bloating, cramping, brown discharge, and spotting about 5 days ago. I have been recently diagnosed as having PCOS. My question is "My doctors put me on BC so that I would not be having these same symtoms and I AM!, what is wrong?
Avatar n tn Hello, I am on Yasmin (birth control pills) for five years, so I wanted to write to you, maybe I will help in some way. I am using them in oreder to help with endometriosis and polycystic ovary. My periods were lighter the first few years with Yasmin, but after that there is no difference than regular periods; my periods are sometimes lighter, sometimes heavier... It depends.
430820 tn?1218247866 Talk to your doctors about Yasmin, they helped me to stop the endometriosis at least for a while, and they gave me more time to organize my life, because endometriosis is my life and i learned how to live with it. And you find yourself a boyfriend and start a serious relationship :-), because if you want children of your own and if you don't want to bring your health into danger, you should concider the idea to be a young mother!
Avatar f tn I had no period in May and June, and then I started to have regular cycles with the help of Yasmin in July. I hope everything works out for you. I know how it is to know something is wrong with your body and nothing seems to work. Once i found the right doctor, it all seemed to work out.
Avatar n tn i have been taking the yasmin pill for a few years and its recently making me not feel passionate with my partner. When i stop taking it to have a period i feel passionate. This isnt good for me and my partner as our sex life is non existant unless im having a period.
Avatar f tn i want to know if endo come back with yasmin , i am taking yasmin about one year ,after my period i saw a brown blood, a liitle pain, i want to know what to do ,it is normal after one year ?
Avatar n tn I have recently been prescribed Yasmin for period cramps. A year ago I came off Micrognon 30 as it was causing distress on my body and emotions. I have only taken the pill for 2 weeks today, but I am getting a bit concerned as I am still on my period. It's not a heavy flow but there are dark red clots (which vary in size and colour). I have thought about seeing my GP but maybe it's my body adjusting with the pill and I need a few months to see if it's a problem for concern or not.
Avatar f tn Hello everyone! I had endometriosis, chocolate cysts and tumor on my right ovary, also blood thickening, and my right ovary was removed during laparoscopy almost 8 years ago. I have problems with my left ovary too, endometriosis and cysts. I've done a lot of treatments (herbal, Yasmin pills, Zoladex shots etc.) and a punctuation. My husband and I decided to start TTC 1 year and a half ago but that didn't gave any positive results, so now we decided to make the in vitro procedure.
Avatar f tn if endo was removed from your ovary- endometrioma- you may have pain for the first three months until your ovaries heal. some doctors believe in putting their pts on birth control for 3 months ( to stop your period) this will prevent your ovaries from being stimulated during healing which decreases pain. www.centerforendo.com has a lot of information on this and other good information on endo and surgery.
Avatar f tn I am taking Yasmin for five years now and they are helping with regulation of the hormones and they stop the cysts getting bigger. Yasmin BCP really helped me and are helping me to "survive" until I decide to get pregnant, because they are contorlling the growth of the cysts. They are not 100% effective, there are periods when the cysts are getting bigger, but on the next check with my gyno they are "back in normal". It depends of the condition.
Avatar f tn I had very similar situation like you (plus tumor and minus the uterus situation), but more than three years ago. My right ovary was removed and the endo from other organs. Since than I was on Yasmin pills (for almost three years). But, Yasmin didn't helped a lot and the situation got serious with my left ovary, too. So I had to go to another surgery but I didn't want because in the firs I could die and I was scared of doing taht again! And I had a punction done in may 2008.
Avatar n tn i would have that done. I could be elevated for endometriosis as well. The normal range is 35 and under and i was 78 and that was when i was ovulating. It shows inflammation as well. It doesnt hurt to get it done. I was covered with endo all over my body i mean covered. Ovaries wrapped around my uterus, deep rectovaginal endo, all over my bladder, inside my ovaries, fallopian tubes etc. He didnt remove an organ and removed all the endo.
Avatar f tn I've been having severe pain in my right leg for the past few years, but only when I have my period, usually the first two days or so. By severe, I mean it hurts to walk on that leg, I feel dizzy and faint, I get extremely hot or cold sometimes, and all the while my right legs in pain. Imagine a tooth ache but all in your leg. I also get pins and needles on my right foot.
