1872158 tn?1320302628 Hello Indah I am actually 14 years old and I have been dealing with ovarian cysts since I was 10 years old. There is no real cure for ovarian cysts but waiting it out until they naturally burst which can be very very painful. There are some solutions to it, doctors say for females the cysts occur because of our monthly cycle, its never too late to take birth control which is one of the solutions to cysts but it all depends on the person.
Avatar n tn 2 years ago, we saw a doctor about her 3week to 3mth long periods and was told her that her eggs were turning to cysts on her overies and they were so bad that she will never have children, but the doctor never told us what we should do or how to fix it? now her face hair is out of control and she is going bald. can anyone just point us in the right direction.
Avatar f tn Ok so my pelvic area feels ok now still a little achey though. Do ovarian cysts cause sharp jolting pain to my backside. Does this sound like an ovarian cyst? For any ladies that have had them what were ur symptoms? On a scale of 1 to 10 what would u rate ur pain? The other day mine was about a 12! I was bawling my eyes out! I do have PCOS (diagnosed last yr) BUT I have never had a cyst before.
456874 tn?1218139741 Interesting. I have ovarian cysts and thyroid issues, now with two nodular thyroid cysts. My thyroid went from 39.9 not a year and-a-half later, to 7.5, which is still not normal - better though on Armour thyroid (pig), instead of the previous Synthroid. I hope you get answers to your questions and I will look for them.

Avatar f tn But, because my organism is disposed to endometriosis and I am a rare case in this illness (if I may call it that way), eventhough I was taking Yasmin the chocolate cysts on my left ovary started to grow rapidly and Yasmin was no longer usefull for me, so six months ago I had to do a punction and I started with Zoladex treatment (this injections make you go into the condition of early menopause). I took five injections till now and I have one more and my treatment will finish.
Avatar f tn Hello everyone! I had endometriosis, chocolate cysts and tumor on my right ovary, also blood thickening, and my right ovary was removed during laparoscopy almost 8 years ago. I have problems with my left ovary too, endometriosis and cysts. I've done a lot of treatments (herbal, Yasmin pills, Zoladex shots etc.) and a punctuation. My husband and I decided to start TTC 1 year and a half ago but that didn't gave any positive results, so now we decided to make the in vitro procedure.
1871430 tn?1320266337 Last time I saw my ob/gyn, I was told that I had 8 cysts on my right ovary and 4 on my left. She asks if I am in pain and I tell her no. I am only in pain when they rupture. Until then, I cannot tell they are there. She put my on birth control and it just seemed to make them worse. I also miscarried last year at about 5 weeks. Please help me. Should I see a new ob/gyn? Should I get my ovaries removed?
Avatar n tn I had 10 cm chocolate cyst on it, tumor and there was endometriosis all over my right ovary and the adhesions from it caused the blood from the cysts to attach to other organs, so endo was removed from other organs, too. I also had cysts on my left ovary, but it wasn't so serious and they just removed them, but the ovary was in good condition. After that I have been on diferent medications, first Yasmin and then, on the age of 22 I experienced 6 months menopause, caused by Zoladex shots.
Avatar m tn I saw my OBGYN, who did an exam and thought I had ovarian cysts. However, the ultrasound that was performed afterwards came up normal with the exception of 3 small uterine fibriods that I was told wouldn't cause any pain or contribute to this problem. So, they told me to get an appointment with my internist, which I did. My internist did an exam and ordered a pelvic CT scan with contrast. Today I got the results back that "everything seems normal.
682098 tn?1236908245 I am a 36 year old female and I had surgery in almost 2 months ago for two ovarian cysts. She removed them along with my left ovary and tube. She said there was so much endometriosis around the bladder and behind the uterus. She couldn't get to it all. She didn't even think I had it because a year and half prior to that I had a tubal and I was perfectly clean. The two cysts were endometriomas. When I went to her 3 days after the surgery she said I will need a hysterectomy.
Avatar m tn I think that the pills and the different therapies that we take to cure the endo are the cause of infertility (I took Yasmin, Zoladex and now I am back on Yasmin and if these kind of medications are taken for long period of time, that may cause infertility)! So, the medications help, but they cause serious problems, too. That is magical circle and I hope that we can get out of it with some permanent solution!
Avatar f tn I went to the doctor on 11/6 because I thought I had appedicitus (pain on right lower pelvis, nausea, vomitting) and on a ct they found an ovarian cyst which was 3.7cm. My doctor said it would go away in three days. Obviously the pain continued and I had an ultrasound on 11/18 which showed "No evidence of intrauterine pathology. 5.7 x 4.5cm cyst seen within the right adnexal area" I am in much pain but my doctor suggests taking motrin and doing a follow up ultrasound in 3 months.
Avatar f tn So, yes, when you have chocolate cysts and similar problems the fertility problems are very likely, but it depends and there are exceptions. I know one woman who had chocolate cysts and other serious problems and just with one ovary she conceived and gave birth to a little girl. The doctors weren't optimistic about her case, because she had these kind of problems and was over 30, but it happend. So, everything is possible!
Avatar n tn it is done through a laparoscopy which is a keyhole surgery tiny cut through the belly button. I had a laparoscopy and was walking out the ward with in the day. Its two weeks on now and I am attending dance classes!! So it is really not as bad as it sounds.
Avatar n tn Yes, it will change your hormones a great deal. It's less relevant over about age 55. Under 30? I'd avoid doing it unless the risk is really strong of ovarian cancer. I wouldn't do it just because of cysts.
Avatar n tn Hello ladies, I am new to this forum. I was diagnosed with PCOS at the age of 19. I'll be 33 next month. I've suffered from severe acne, cysts, abnormal periods and major mood swings. I've had 3 laproscopies and I've been on Yasmin for over 8 years. I have to say, of the 5 or 6 different bc pills I've taken, I found Yasmin to be the best. It really curbed my acne a great deal. Also, I had no cysts. On some of the other bc pills, I still developed cystic ovaries.
5121963 tn?1363905257 After I stopped with Yasmin, my endo condition became worse, the cysts were rapidly growing and the painful and awful periods are back. Now I have to go to another procedure (probably laparotomy, so I can continuie with TTC after that, with IVF). I am telling you all of this because I want to tell you that my experience with Yasmin pills was very good! Lighter periods, painless, feeling more comfortable, no bloating etc.
Avatar n tn I had two dermoid cysts/tumors, one on each ovary (the one on left ovary was very large) that had been misdiagnosed for years. Only in the last two years was I in any kind of pain. I had emergency surgery last May to remove the dermoids. I did not have a real period until March. I was put on Loestrin birth control pills to "give my ovaries a rest" and stop functional cysts from occuring. But for six months I was in excruciating pain.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed two weeks ago with hypothyrodism, I never knew anything about this. I was referred to an endocrinologist who explained to me part of what's the thyroid issue is about. He prescribed me Levoxyl to take for two months, in two months I have to go back to check my thyroids again and supposedly to determine if my issue is for life or not.
Avatar f tn About 2 weeks ago, I got back on the yasmin p pill for some stability, both for me and my period phobia bf (lol)... but now I have been spotting for 4 days. It is inconsistent during the course of the day and vary from nothing to brown discharge to brown clots. I have never had mid cycle spotting or bleeding before, on or off the pill. I just had a scan for cysts and it came back completely normal, so it shouldnt be messing things up.
Avatar m tn Google has terrified me with stories of ovarian cancer and other serious conditions. Can someone please tell me if these side effects are normal?
Avatar n tn hi there I am sorry to hear this - I am not quite in the same boat but I currently have chocolate cysts on and inside each ovary of about 3cm I am going to the top professor who will just remove them for me its a hectic operation as they cut open each ovary to get to the growth and stitch up.
Avatar f tn There are many birth control pills out there that help prevent cysts. One of them is yasmin. Speak to your gynae about your options.
Avatar n tn Hello, I am hoping that someone has had some experience with ovarian cysts and the use of birth control (nuva ring) to prevent ovulation. My doctor started me on the nuva ring in hopes that it would help with the pain from bilateral ovarian simple cysts that measure 5cm and 4.2 cm. If anyone has experience with this type of treatment please respond to the following questions. Does birth control help with the pain from ovarian cysts? Does using birth control help ressolve the existing cysts?
Avatar f tn Ovarian cysts can be benign or malignant but the majority (over 90%) are benign. A lot depends on your age and what type of cyst it is - functional, dermoid, etc. Your doctor hopefully will let you know if there is anything to be concerned about. You can google "ovarian cysts" to get more information so you know what questions to ask at your appointment. Please let us know how it goes.
