Avatar f tn With all the commercials you see on TV about YAZ and Yasmin and all the problems it has caused, i cant imagine that the positives out weigh the negatives. Currently I am on Levlen birth control, it has the minimum amount of estrogen and it works wonderful! But because everyone is different, i would suggest doing some research on birth control types and find whats best for her, then talk to a doctor about those types you have looked over. Good Luck!
Avatar m tn After the ecography he explaind me that my left ovary is filled with menstrual blood, because of endometriosis. He gave me Yasmin for one month, and than we tried again for other 2 months and still nothing. My husband's spermiogram resulted ok. Now my question is: Are This 12 months of infertily normal, because my right ovary seems normal. The doc suggested me to stay calm, because im young, and stress isnt good for the fertility problems. should i trust him.
473222 tn?1214439873 Reading all of the posts on another part of this forum elated to yasmin and yaz is very scary. My life has been seriously affected by taking yasmin for four years. If I only knew back then what I know now. Please consider the long term effects of taking any birth control pill, not just yasmin or yaz. They primarily work by putting your ovaries to sleep. The pill shuts down your own natural production of hormones and replaces them with lab manufactured hormones.
Avatar n tn I had several more attacks within the 3 month period before my surgery, each time having acute hepatitis and pancreatitis. About 15 months after my gallbladder was removed my primary care physician and I decided to try oral contraceptives again. Bad idea. Within 6 weeks I had another attack and found myself back in the hospital because of elevated liver counts and pancreatitis. Needless to say, I'm done playing "guinea pig" with my body.
Avatar n tn I too am on Yasmin, but never had any problems while taking them. I was told that Yasmin bc is the best choice given to those with acne problems and pcos. It's a mild dose of bc. Try to give yourself 3 months to regulate it in your body. Consult your doctor if you have serious side affects. Are you taking any other meds for your pcos? I'm also on Metformin for weight issues. I started my journey in September 2008 at 333lbs and I am now at 272lbs.
Avatar f tn I am taking Yasmin four years and I never had any problems with mood swings and other horrible things that are caused from hormonal pills (like sweating, depression, anger, irritability). So, from my experience, Yasmin is good, better than some other medications of this kind.
Avatar f tn Yes . I have endometriosis and Yasmin reversed it.
Avatar n tn But I thought I would ask, is anyone that has PCOS symptoms (high testosterone, insulin resistance) and on BCP on any other BCP besides Yasmin, and does it control PCOS symptoms? Have you seen any side effects?
Avatar f tn I had been on Yasmin for 5 years and never had any problems with it, my skin was clear, my periods were regular, the only thing that I've had to put up with is the slightly worsened mood swings when I get my period. However within a month of taking Isabella, I was a complete emotional wreck, month round (not just PMS). No other way to describe it. I was crying for no reason, I couldn't bring myself to do the things I normally do, everything upset me, and I just felt super pathetic.
Avatar f tn I would say to try the pill out for a few months, like 3 UNLESS your symptoms get worse. The body needs time to adjust to any bcp and 3 months is the normal. I'm on Yasmin too and never had any problems with it. Yasmin is one of the top bcp that is given to woman with pcos because most woman can tolerate it better then other bcp. The only thing I've found while taking Yasmin (and I think this goes for ALL bcp) it raises my blood pressure a little.
Avatar f tn I started later then i usually do and never done that and my period was really light and its usually heavy and it only lasted 2 days and never done that either. And now 3 days later im spotting brown stuff. And i have had the most migraines and never get headaches and ive had heartburns really bad. And my stomach has been killing me badly.
Avatar f tn I was on Yasmin for about 6 years - no problems very happy with and I stupidly got worried about the hype going on with the deep vein thrombosis that Yaz and Yasmin have been known for. So i went to the doctor as we are going travelling in a few months and i didnt want to have problems whilst overseas. So she put me on Marvelon 28.
1313343 tn?1274833215 i was talken about pain in stomach and in my pelvic area when i was on this med. and its YASMIN im talken about YAZ and YASMIN are 2 different birth control pills!
Avatar n tn Hello, I recently had a GEF (gallbladder ejection fraction) done to see how well my gallblader was empyting out. And when I got the call back that my gallbladder ws only like 47% or something like that I couldn't understand it. So if anyone knows what it could be, I am going to see another GI on Fort this week and I want someone elses opinion on the matter. Thank you so much.
Avatar n tn I do have adrenal problems and take Adrenogen, DHEA, fish oils and vitamin D for a vitamin D deficiency. I was told that Armour can help with alot of this, is that true?
Avatar f tn and high blood pressure. The high blood pressure and vomiting went away shortly after the baby was born and my gallbladder was removed. Ever since, I have had chronic dairrhea and constipation. Both with flip flop, but I seem to never be regular. The heart burn continues, but is less frequent (maybe twice a week). My stomach has always been a little funny, but lately the cramps, diarrhea, constipation, and heartburn are driving me insane. Do you have any idea what this may be?
Avatar f tn I can't say I have had any problems with my gallbladder. Thank goodness. I know others have issues with what they think are food sensitivities. Have you had a change in the way you eat or have you gone on a diet? Hopefully someone can give you the answers you seek.
Avatar n tn inital u/s was due to inability to urinate when pregnant - no reason founnd but gallbladder polyps found. then follow up u/s for gallbladder and in nov 08 liver nodule found and reported to be subtle and non-specific. it is hypo echoic. mri were to further assess liver nodule but on both mri it was not seen. i am 35 and female with a 2 1/2 yr old and 7 month old. i had a misscarriage between children.
Avatar f tn Hi, it depends on the treatment I guess, but I don't think you should expect any weight gain. Metformin will help with weight loss - I don't have any weight to shed, but Met really helps with appetite and maintainance. I also find Yasmin (BCP) harmless in this respect: I gain weight very easily usually and struggle to maintain it off, but Yasmin never caused any problems in this respect, I'd say on the contrary.
Avatar n tn So, I’m hoping this isn’t a heart issue at all. Can gallbladder problems really cause chest pain and tightness and palpitations like I’ve described? So far I’ve had a couple of ultrasounds and just had a CT with contrast that all came back normal. Everyone that I’ve spoken to about this who has had their gallbladder removed has said that my symptoms are exactly like theirs were before they had their gallbladder removed.
Avatar n tn You probably have either PACs or PVCs, which are followed by a compensatory pause. You feel the pause and irregularity of the heart beat and it bothers you. If you have a normal heart ejection fraction then these are inconvenient but not life threatening. THese also may be treated by medications such as beta blockers or calcium channel blockers.
Avatar f tn My question is, can it be possible that my nausea, fatigue and mild pain be due to an inflamed gallbladder even though the ultrasound did not show stones, or is it likely that I have a serious problem with my pancreas? My biggest problem is the daily nausea and flu like symptoms. This discussion is related to Pancreatic Cancer.
Avatar f tn Here is a little something I pulled up while researching yaz problems Yaz and Yasmin are different from other birth control pills available in the United States because they contain drospirenone, a progestin which can increase blood potassium levels and increase the risk of: * Heart Attack * Stroke * Blood Clots: Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) and Pulmonary Embolism (PE) * Gallbladder Problems * Kidney Damage or Kidney Disease * Cardiac Arrhythmias * Sudden Death Call y
Avatar n tn I cam home one day during this and ate some pizza. After that I had problems breathing and had small pains in my chest. I went to the emergency room and they did an EKG and I was fine. I went to the Docs the next day and she sent me for a ultrasound of my gallbladder and a cardio/echo. Both came back fine. During the ultrasound though the lady was very rough, which was odd. I started getting better but I started having a pain right below my right rib.
Avatar f tn some can be like gravel or sand...there is a risk of them moving from the gallbladder and going down to the the pancreas and causing you pancreatitis which is really bad for you. I was lucky mine was like a huge grape so it couldn't escape but it was stuck at the neck of the gallbladder which is why they removed it, if it had of been sitting in the bottom it probably would've been ok to leave there.
Avatar f tn This was me at 18wks! My dr put me on a low fat diet even though they couldn't find any stones and thought it was my liver. Anyway, the pain didn't go away and more tests at 21wks showed it wasn't gallstones but sludge and gallbladder wasn't working. Surgeon said no diet was going to fix that so I had to have my gallbladder removed in emergency surgery. It was absolutely terrifying having surgery while pregnant and I cried the whole day, but it went perfect.
Avatar n tn There is a condition known as Cholechodyskinsia (Chole= gall bladder and dyskinsia = dysfunction) The gall bladder neck can get kinked and cause the gall bladder to swell and produce pain. Symptoms are the same as a stone but ususally the pain comes from lying down, as in the night, and getting up and walking around ususally lets the gall bladder fall back into place and the swelling goes down.
Avatar n tn Nausea, vomiting etc? Sometimes people have no symptoms at all with gallbladder issues and others have them all. Talk with the docs to get all your options, but they will probably suggest removal if you are having alot of pain and symptoms.
Avatar f tn Anyone else have problems with their gallbladder after giving birth? I've been in so much pain. Probably gonna have to get it removed.
