698575 tn?1229608278 Hi. I was on Yasmin three years, after that I was on Zoladex and now I am on Yasmin again. I don't know for sure, but I think that Yasmin prevents ovulation and it makes harder for sperm to reach uterus (it is harder for the fertilized egg to attach to the uterus). I have read this: The primary mechanism of Yasmin is inhibition of ovulation.
Avatar f tn I've taken 2 home pregnancy tests and both came back negative, I've been getting cramps, light headaches and pain in my stomach..

I sincerely advise you to consult a gynecologist and discuss this with hi,/her.You can switch to some other birth control measure and see if the symptoms improve.
Avatar n tn But I thought I would ask, is anyone that has PCOS symptoms (high testosterone, insulin resistance) and on BCP on any other BCP besides Yasmin, and does it control PCOS symptoms? Have you seen any side effects?
Avatar m tn I know a certain strain of hpv causes cervical cancer, so is it more likely to get penis cancer if your partner has/had cervical cancer? Is there any relation to cervical cancer in the amount of cases of penis cancer that occur each year in the US?
Avatar m tn herpes is never linked to cervical cancer. Only HPV increases your wife risk of this cancer.
Avatar n tn After that I have been on diferent medications, first Yasmin and then, on the age of 22 I experienced 6 months menopause, caused by Zoladex shots. Now I am recovering of that horrible period, I am taking Yasmin again, so my body can stabilize and can make the next step. I am seeing my doctor at the end of this week, so then I will know what is going on in there and what is the next step.
Avatar m tn //www.cancer.org/cancer/cervical-cancer/causes-risks-prevention/risk-factors.html the HPV type(s) associated with genital warts are low risk. Also, as long as one follows the guidelines for pap smears (every 3 years for paps or every 5 years for co-testing of pap and HPV), any abnormal cervical changes (dysplasia) can be caught plenty early. Abnormal cervical cells take many years to progress to cancer. I hope this eases your mind!
Avatar n tn There is a good screening method for cervical cancer, talk about it with your doctor. This has reduced the number of cervical cancer cases substantially. This is much better than being scared.
Avatar f tn Shortly after the abortion I found out I have polycystic ovaries and had been put on Yasmin birth control pills. I took the pill for two cycles and stopped. Since I stopped I have been ttc and had cycles ranging from 28-29 days. I know that some women "bleed" and it seems like a "period" but isn't a "period" and it’s called anovulatory bleeding. My question is can you have a normal Period and still have a Ovulation problem?
Avatar f tn t know the timing for all of this, and how long you and your ex have been apart, but cervical cancer takes some time to develop if it's caused by HPV. Not all cervical cancers are caused by HPV, but about 70% of cervical cancers are caused by the 2 most high risk strains of it. (Smoking, using birth control for a long time, having more than 3 children, and other things can also contribute to it.) In most people (90%), HPV clears from the body within 2 years, and cancer won't develop.
Avatar f tn With all the commercials you see on TV about YAZ and Yasmin and all the problems it has caused, i cant imagine that the positives out weigh the negatives. Currently I am on Levlen birth control, it has the minimum amount of estrogen and it works wonderful! But because everyone is different, i would suggest doing some research on birth control types and find whats best for her, then talk to a doctor about those types you have looked over. Good Luck!
Avatar f tn I have a friend that had a baby in November and had cervical cancer in high school. I think it just depends on the stage and stuff. She had a hard time getting pregnant though.
Avatar f tn t know if there is a connection with cervical cancer and your symptoms. The discharge sounds pretty normal and sometimes can increase during ovulation or when you are close to your period. Have you had the bad cramps ever since you began menstruating, or just recently? What concerns me, is the constant back pain (which may or may not be connected with female problems), and the pain during intercourse.
8827391 tn?1400247234 I was 6weeks pregnant with my second baby when I was told I had cervical cancer and the doctor told me if I kept my baby I would lose my life and possibly the babies. I had a daughter that was only 18months old and I was raising her by myself. I had also just broken things off with my fiance which was the father of the baby I was pregnant with. I left him due to finding out he was doing drugs. Well I was only 18 and choose to have an abortion and I regret it every single day since.
Avatar f tn I am pregnant with twins at 21 weeks pregnant n have cervical cancer they want to deliver my babys early n do a hysterectomy on me what should i do
1288270 tn?1301287612 So I tried to check myself for cervical cancer and I felt a rough patch on my cervix... Its freaking me out really bad...Is it normal for a 15 year old girl to have a rough path on her cervix?
Avatar f tn if you just found out that you have HPV..then you probably just had a PAP too..cancer doesn't progress that quickly in a months time and don't think that you'd wouldn't be able to feel it! you don't say if you have high risk= increases cancer risk or low risk=warts...you may just have genital warts...
Avatar f tn I recently felt a hard lump on my cervix near the opening, it's odd because it is so hard! I've never had an abmormal pap, or any abnormal bleeding. I just had my son (vaginally) 7 months ago, could it be from that? I've been trying to find things online similar to what I've found but I don't seem to have any of the other symptoms of cervical cancer.. like the ^^abnormal bleeding.. I've been having a lot more discharge than usual though, what is this hard bump?
Avatar n tn I had a Leap procedure done in 2005 to remove stage one of cervical cancer. I was tested every two to three months for a year and then went back to one a year when the tests came back as normal. The last few days I noticed a yellowish-green vaginal discharge. There is not really a smell and I do not have any pain. I was told that this could be a symptom of the cervical cancer being back again. Is that true? I do plan to see my doctor, but I can not get in right away.
Avatar m tn When I went for a pap my doctor said he wanted to run some tests on me because he thinks I might have Cervical Cancer.... the thing was that I was expecting...... so he could'nt do the other tests on me. My daughter is now a year old and I never went back because I don't have insurance or the money for self pay to go back..... how could I knowif I do have it? Are there side affects? Or can it just go away on it's on?

Avatar m tn Hello, My wife was diagnosed with a low grade HPV lesion 2 years ago. She was tested 3 times and and all of the pap smears came back as low grade and tested negative for any high risk HPV strains. We had been married for a long time and the HPV must have come from a previous relationship, well over a decade ago.
Avatar f tn Thanks for your response! I'm 5'3, and 150 pounds. I've recently lost about 20 pounds. I'm not currently taking anything for the PCOS, just trying to eat better, and exercise. MY main concern is the abnormal bleeding because I've read that can be a sign of cervical cancer. All of the paps i've had in the past have come out normal, and I don't have HPV, so I don't know. Just a little confused!
