Xeloda and b6

Common Questions and Answers about Xeloda and b6

xeloda

Avatar m tn My body smply could not tolerate the drug and while taking Xeloda I lost more than one pound per day, snd had relentless nausea and terrible pain in my hands and feet. After one three-week cycle my doctor discontinued the Xeloda. I was able to complete treatment with the oxiliplatin. This was in 2004 and I am cancer free today. Ask your mother's doctor for something else. If possible she should not stop chemo until her doctor is certain no trace of cancer remains in her lymph system.
Avatar f tn will xeloda given alone treat both tumours in chest wall with mestases in liver.
Avatar f tn Hand-foot syndrome is a condition where the palms of the hands and soles of the feet become reddish, swollen and develop pain and tingling sensations. Sometimes, rash or peeling of the skin in the palms and soles also occur. Reducing the dose of Xeloda can help decrease this side effect. Applying ice packs and skin lotion can also help relieve the burning sensation and dryness. Another option which your grandmother can take is to discontinue Xeloda altogether.
408448 tn?1286883821 Anyone ever use Xeloda pills? It is for colon cancer, but has been used in ovarian too. More for mucinous type. My cancer got pretty active on last treatment.
484033 tn?1208516117 Yes, that was adjuvant therapy, administered between surgery and ileostomy takedown. (It was originally combined with Xeloda, but I could not tolerate that drug so the Xeloda was discontinued) Prior to surgery I treated with 5FU and radiation. So glad to put that in the past! Just had a follow-up exam and CEA 125 is normal. No lasting problems except the neuropathy in both heels, which is annoying but not a real big deal. Hope your tx goes as well.

Avatar f tn 7mm and 13mm. He took chemo: Folfox, Avastin, Oxaliplatin, and Xeloda until April 2008. The April CT scan revealed that the tumors had grown slightly and that there were four more small nodules visable. He discontinued Chemo and chose alternataive therapy with High Dose Vitamin C, and B17, changed his diet, and had some blood boosters. In August a new CT showed the good news that no new tumors were visable, but that the primary tumors were slightly larger.
Avatar f tn ya...but it seems mom has two different cells one is in breast and other in liver (some he3+, i guess) ,for oncolet the breast cells are being controlled but not the liver cells ,thats why disease has reoccured in liver ,is what the reply the doctor gave me,so in order to control both, mom needs to take oncolet and xeloda together....
Avatar f tn could diet and or exercise be slight factors in rising CEA count in my mother? It was at its lowest point but the last 2 visits it went up slightly.
Avatar m tn b6 can cause alot more than depression. it can cause irreversible nerve damage. from personal experience, be careful how much you take. 100mg-200mg daily for me caused some very disturbing symptoms. numbness, tingling, pricks/pins/needles, shocks, buzzing/vibrating, muscle twitches, muscle weakness, severe fatigue, diziness, lighheadedness, anxiety, irritability etc. was diagnosed with b6 toxicity recently. beware of b6. it is a dangerous "water-soluble" vitamin.
Avatar f tn Within a month, the breast cancer started in her skin around the site of the node. She now has a red rash (skin mets) in approx half of her chest wall and is getting Chemo (Xeloda) and Herceptin. My question is, the skin is beginning to "harden" around the node removal surgery site. What does this mean? Any other comments on Skin mets would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn But you know, you probably could add a low dose of b6 like 50 mg or something. That would probably be fine. Oh and i never took fertilaid but when i did start taking b6, it definitely did make my LP a day or two longer. It works! And I only took b6, (no fertilaid or prenatal) but i also took folic acid and an additional b complex.
Avatar f tn They have continued with the trial with just the Avastin and Xeloda which he is still taking. However he has some symptoms since the beginning of November which has baffled his oncologist he has severe pains in his head when swallowing it is not related to chewing the pain and dull all the time and on the left side of his head.
Avatar f tn Neuro doc finally figured this out after two hospital stays and 4 ER visits. My problem is, I do not take B6 supplements and have read that you can not overdose from B6 by just eating food. I have cut b6 pretty much out of my diet (not sure what I can eat) but am concerned because I also have low blood pressure and sometimes low potassium. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to eat and if there could be another underlying toxicity that I am dealing with? Thank you!
Avatar n tn My onco tried me on taxol, and avastin, then xeloda. Neither of these worked. He suggests that I try Jemzar. I have stage IV mestatic breast cancer that has spread to my spine. I was dx in Feb 2002. I have previously been on different chemo.surgery, hormonal.. arimidex, aromosin, fasoldex . and several radiation treatments. I am undecided on doing any more chemo. My cancer , of course , is er/pr positive. Is there any advice on this chemo. or is there another hormonal I could try.
Avatar f tn My doctor had me take b6 and unisom together at night before bed to help with my nausea. It did help me and I also kept crackers by my bed and would eat 2 or 3 each morning before I got out of bed which also helped me.
Avatar f tn for me 100mg of b6 and Emetrol worked wonders. my doc also told me about b6 and unisom sleeping pills(i know! i never would have thought to take sleeping pills for nausea) but several of my friends swears it works. most def give your doc a call to see which would be best for you.
12206657 tn?1433282668 First, has this been diagnosed as B6 neuropathy? There are a lot of reasons for nerve pain and B6 is one of the less common of them. It's possible you can get rid of some excess B6 by supplementing with folate and B12. The three are in balance, so excess amounts of any of them can cause an imbalance in the others (as can amounts that are too low in your diet) and so an excess of B12 and folate can leach out some B6.
Avatar f tn so I started taking unisom and B6 for n/v per my ob gyn. It seems to work so far but I am really sensitive to meds and half a unisom tab is making is so tired. Anyone have success controlling the nausea with a fourth of the tablet?
12618772 tn?1445214532 I'm usually extremely sick while pregnant I did some research and found that taking magnesium and b6 supplements will help me with this.So I started taking them and I haven't been sick at all only once before I started taking them. What do you ladies think about this and have u every tried or heard of this?
Avatar f tn Have you taken any Vitamin B6? If so if you take more than 200 mg a day you can get nerve damage. Pin and needles would be an early sign too much B6. Also, some medications can cause this. Are you on any prescription medications? If so I would check the side effects to see if these are part of the side effects. Do you have any spinal issues? Do you get it only when you stand up or in the hands and feet. It is usually related to a nerve issue.
Avatar f tn My doctor had me on 1 pill of each every night and then 1 b6 in the morning. Some nights I would skip the unisom if I had to be up early and the b6 did not work by itself a for me.
Avatar f tn I think a triaged approach to what you want from your treatment would help and am sure you discussed this with your doctor. First and foremost, that the treatment is effective and purging the cancer and putting you into remission. But retaining your hair can also be on the list of things you would like. Lower on the list, but there.
