Common Questions and Answers about Wrinkles skin care ingredients

wrinkles

Avatar n tn Currently manufacturers of skin products have been trying to provide a wide array of skin care products to suit each skin type. For an individual to get the best skin care, one should follow a particular regimen of cleansing, toning , exfoliating and moisturizing. As one grows older however, exfoliation may damage the thinning skin. Cleansing and moisturizing are still essential as one ages. The use of sunscreen for the face is still a must.
Avatar m tn Topical treatments for the skin can reduce the look of wrinkles ...whether it costs a buck ninety nine or a thousand dollars an ounce, if it holds in moisture, it can make the skin tissue look a little better. You aren't going to see magic changes from anything you put on your face, but putting on something is better than putting on nothing. Biggest thing for protecting against future skin wrinkles is sunblock.
Avatar f tn Is there a product on the market that can be purchased so that the white spots will even out with the rest of my skin? I also have a lot of age spots (brown spots) on my legs and arms; which I believe is also from the sun and tanning beds. Is there also a product for this available on the market?
Avatar f tn Hello, You can use any of these regimens as both are meant for aged skin. The second regimen is a complete skin care program and is beneficial. I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing. Kind regards.

Avatar n tn Hello, The symptoms are suggestive of tinea versicolor. Tinea versicolor is caused by a fungus that lives in the skin of almost all adults. Factors that can cause the fungus to become more visible include high humidity and immune or hormone abnormalities. Treatment involves topical and oral antifungal medicines. Most cases of fungal infections respond to over-the-counter products, which contain any of several basic ingredients: miconazole, tolnaftate, terbinafine, ketaconazole and clotrimazole.
Avatar n tn Hi, Nothing ca be said with surety about any cosmetic skin care products due to the chemicals/ ingredients used by the manufacturer being not very well disclosed. Just see that you should not be allergic to any of its constituents and also it is fine if you have had no problems with it so far. Have you noticed any symptoms lately that might have prompted you to ask these questions. Let us know if you need any other information. Regards.
Avatar n tn I have developed wrinkles on my finger knuckles over the last eight months(both the hands). The skin on the knuckles and the finger joints has been turning dark since then. I have visited a dermatologist and he said that it's not a symptom of any disease and hasn't prescribed any medication. I started using the L'oreal creams and all but nothing changed. The dark skin and the wrinkles look distinctly visible. I am loosing sleep over this because I don't know what to do.
Avatar m tn When I woke up, I had these incredibly deep under-eye wrinkles that just sprung up out of nowhere, wrinkles on my eyelids, they were very painful and even more dry than the day before. I put some vaseline on them to help moisturize them but it's only gotten worse. One eye is fine but still a bit sensitive, but the other eye is getting worse. It's also a very weird and wrinkly texture with a lot of bumps and fine lines on my upper eyelid spreading down to just above my cheek bone.

Avatar f tn These are nothing but blood vessels that can be seen through the skin. The skin around the eyelids (periorbital skin) is the thinnest skin in the body. When blood passes through the large veins close to the surface of the skin it can produce a bluish tint. The more transparent the skin -- also an inherited trait -- the darker the circles appear.
Avatar n tn I am 47, light complexion and problem area are dry skin wrinkles on forehead, laugh lines and crows feet and under eye lines. I have tried Olay regenerist, ROC and Garnier Nutritionist and currently seen ad for Hydroxatone that contains matrixly 3000, argireline and hyaluronic acid and is there anything you can recommend I use that can help minimize the wrinkles while adding collagen and elasticity to my skin. I am tired of products that offer a lot but delivers nothing.
Avatar n tn Should I choose Vichy Capital Soleil which has vitrually no antioxidants in its formulation, but has excellent UVA protection ingredients titanium dioxide, avobenzene, and photostable Mexoryl, OR, should I choose Clinique Face Sunblock which has antioxidant Vitamin C, but only has UVA protection avobenzene which is not photostable (realistically I won't be reapplying it every two hours)? I read that vitamin C is good for treating and protecting against wrinkles and sun spots.

Avatar n tn two days ago, i felt my skin was very tight on my face. almost like it was sunburn (i have not been in the sun). 6 hours later, i was horrified to see a bunch of wrinkles under my eyes...well defined and they were not there previously. i immediately thought of allergy, and have been on benydril since, and while the condition is no worse, the eye wrinkles are still quite prevailing. any thoughts?
Avatar f tn I am unsure about premature aging, although Hypothyroid does cause a dry sometimes scaly skin that might resemble aged skin, the acne is usually caused by some hormone issues, I have heard of other Hypothyroid sufferers complain of problems with acne. Have you been diagnosed with any thyroid disease? As this is a Thyroid Forum, I beleive a forum exists for dermatology if you would care to re post on that forum.
Avatar m tn I have an extremely sensitive glans so due to this I never really pulled back my foreskin, I decided to try to stretch it a few days ago and left my glans exposed to the air for around 10 minutes, it then began to develop wrinkles, which disappeared after my glans spent another 10 mins under my foreskin?

Avatar n tn I woke up with dark reddish purple, puffy skin yet with deep wrinkles (I don't have wrinkles normally) under both eyes. It does not itch - feels more like tight, sunburned skin and looks like I was in a fight. Any idea? My dr. just put me on Prednisone.
Avatar f tn Over one year my skin has become a bag of wrinkles - my facem my arms my legs - basically all over. THis is very depressing as I seem to be withering much faster than all my contemporaries. Yet I have always been conscientious about exercising and eating the right foods. Can anyone shed any light on this or is there no solution to this deterioration? ... I am 54.
Avatar f tn I wanted to ask about etinol again, because I am very interested to know whether anyone has used a good strength OTC retinol product like Vichy, Boots or Green Cream (or prescription treitonin, Retin-A). Have you seen good results, specifically whether it may have helped with smoking wrinkles and sun damage. I know that you cannot get rid of wrinkles from smoking. However, does retinol help to fade somewhat or make them less noticeable?
Avatar n tn The skin on my cheek peeled off nicely, however the skin under my eye looks as if I have more wrinkles now (the skin did not peel off directly under eye but around eyes). When I put the 5% glycolic acid cream on I did not use any moisturizer and skin seemed tight for a few days (I was afraid to put anything on the skin at that point). My question is did I cause a permanent damage and will have these wrinkles under eyes permanently?
Avatar m tn Can i get your opinion on good lube besides going and buying some and also what can i do to get the penis wrinkles out? is there a tucking method i can practice or do or a cream maybe?
Avatar n tn I am just wondering if maybe it is staying to moist under the fore skin so it wrinkles like you hands do when you keep them in water too long. I know that they say you should keep it really dry under the fore skin to avoid infections.
