The pool is in ground with a vinyl liner, and we have been geting a fair bit of rain lately. I will check the ph level. Every year I swear I'm going to bulldoze it, then it eventually clears and I love it.

And if in the pool I'm not sure if you can feel it but once you get out of the pool it will keep coming out. But, let me suggest something that has helped me. Have you thought about using a kick board? It has helped a lot with strengthening my legs. If you get tired, you can just float. I used to swim at least 40-50 laps before I'd call it a day, but now if I can swim 5-6 I think of that as a good day.

Luckily in this part of FL you have to fence your pool in...otherwise your house can't be insured! My parents have a pool and were required to fence in their pool several years before my daughter was born....and I'm so glad, now, that they did. The piece of glass was on the ground in the main entrance to the pool so it was a more heavily trafficked area. I think your best bet is to put your dog on a good heartworm preventive like Sentinel. It also takes care of many intestinal parasites. Check with your vet to see what medication will take care of most of the intestinal worms. Sentinel also helps control fleas. It doesn't kill them, but if a flea bites your dog it becomes sterile.
