Common Questions and Answers about Why take singulair in evening

singulair

Avatar f tn Also I have had a lot of health issues for the last year and my doctor as a shot in the dark suggested Singulair even though I have no allergy or asthma symptoms. I took both of them. That evening my bones and muscles started to hurt. The next day my muscles all tightened up and I felt horrible, dry mouth, sore throat, felt like I was stoned, itching. I got off the singulair and haven't been on it for 4 days. I still am having muscular pain and bone pain.
Avatar n tn Both Singulair and Zyrtec contain lactose monohydrate
Avatar m tn Singulair is a must and is taken in the evening,it helps me.Also,Advair taken in the morning and evening depending on dosage, its an inhaled type of steroid.Like prednisone, without all the yucky side affects.Licorice root found at health food stores also helps,it also comes in syrup form.Black coffee also can stop an asthma attack if caught early enough.Be careful with the licorice root,as it can cause high blood pressure if taken to much.
Avatar m tn It causes asthma (Arizona Cypress, Mesquite and Palo Verde are the culprits.) Singulair has helped me very successfully in the past. However, I also take a very low dose blood pressure medication (Lisinopril 20mg). I do not have health insurance and have an alternative source for medications. Would it be advisable for me to purchase Singulair for 3 months to get me through those three months next year. This year was a bit difficult without it.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with asthma a year ago and have been treated with Advair, Singulair and Albuterol as needed. I have been under good control until I was recently diagnosed with an eye conditon called central serous retinopathy. I was told by the retinal specialist that I can take no form of prednisone unless it is a life threatening issue because it could worsen the eye condition. Now I am having problems with my asthma since I have been off the Advair.Any suggestions?
460830 tn?1347219306 Singulair is a leukotriene (loo-koe-TRY-een) inhibitor. Leukotrienes are chemicals your body releases when you breathe in an allergen (such as pollen). These chemicals cause swelling in your lungs and tightening of the muscles around your airways, which can result in asthma symptoms. Singulair is used to prevent asthma attacks in adults and children as young as 12 months old. It is also used to relieve runny nose and sneezing caused by allergies in adults and children as young as 6 months old.
Avatar f tn I have been taking Singulair for a few months now and I haven't noticed any negative side effect. I take it along with a daily inhaler for my asthma and it really has helped me a lot.

150689 tn?1333990045 What I have experienced with it so far is good other then I feel pretty tired.. I do take it in the evening but still sluggish throughout the day. I'm hoping I will adjust and lose this effect some day soon. My Aunt was on inhalers for 3 years daily and her Doctor switched her over to singular a year or two ago and hasn't had a problem with her asthma since.
Avatar f tn 5 hours, 50% of the amount of Singulair in your body will be eliminated. If you took a 5mg dose of Singulair, within the time frames they gave, you will only have 2.5mg left in your body. 2.7-5.5 hours later, you will have 50% of THAT amount left in your body. This 50% reduction will continue until all of the medication is out of your system. I totally suck at math but maybe YOU'RE an Einstein and can figure out, from this equation, exactly when the last of the Singulair will leave your body.
Avatar m tn Hi everyone! I'm in a bit of a bind right now. My preventive asthma medication seems to cause nausea and general cloudiness when I take them. When I stop taking them, the dizziness stops so I know that it's the cause. I've tried a handful of different medicines like Flovent, Dulera, Qvar, Advair, Pulmicort and even Singulair and they all cause this nauseating effect. I'm wondering if any of you know what this might be and any way to stop it.
Avatar n tn 2 years ago he was put on Advair disk inhaler, Singulair, and Allegra D as his regimen. After about a month he started having a problem with his legs and groin itching. He took himself off the Singulair as that is what he decided was the problem. He has gotten by with just the Advair inhaler. In the past month he's really been struggling with breathing problems.
370736 tn?1247242917 When I was preg. in May ( I had a m/c) I was taking singulair and albuterol inhaler. I was told by my general practioner not to take Advair b/c of the steroids in it. Recently I went to see a genetic counselor and he said that I should stop taking the singulair b/c their hasn't been a lot of studies done on the effects it has on preg. women. He said I should take Advair instead.
Avatar m tn i was not warned of the possible side effects like so many other parents and patients. there is also some thought that singulair is being linked to suicide in teenagers. you can google suicide and singulair and watch a family's story about their son's suicide. also look up your child's medications on www.medications.com. i hope this message reaches other parents with children on singulair.
Avatar f tn Many, many health problems actually originate in the Gastrointestinal tract (you can look that concept up on-line) - be it decreased stomach acids, decreased enzymes to break up the food, leaving the food to ferment in the gut, leaky gut syndrome, etc. It would take a long note to get into all the possibilities. And if the diet helps (or some other food alteration helps) always keep inhalers on hand just in case. If I'm of no help, I pray that someone will be! Good luck!

Avatar f tn PLEASE HELP Let me add that she is NOT in tears because the Singulair has made her depressed, we heard all about that in the news. She is in tears because of the agony she's in because of how BAD her arms and legs feel all the time!!!!!!!!!!!! My daughter is on Singulair and just finished a short course of Prednisone. On her 4th day [last day] of Prednisone, her legs and arms started to feel very weak and heavy and numb[she said they felt "thick"].
Avatar f tn I have always had difficulty breathing in high humidity. My doctor told me that I am most likely allergic to mold, and the humidity is causing this to be worse. I have been prescribed an albuterol inhaler, and usually only have to use it about 3 weeks out of the year. Otherwise, I take Singulair year round. This year the humidity is especially high. I have had trouble breathing for over a month now.
640719 tn?1277140030 hmmmm Singulair is also an allergy medication (or suppose to be) but it may not be enough for you to control hayfever. It affects a different part of the immune system than the typical antihistamines so some people it works better on, some it does not work as well. From what I got out of the research results if that it does help allergic symptoms but not a huge amount, that is why it is an asthma medication that can also help allergies.
Avatar m tn I wish I could start to take Singulair when it came out ten years ago. It would have made difference in my life. ------So, how do you know if Singulair is right for you? Pretty much, based on my research, Singulair has proven effective for anyone with Allergic Rhinitis (hay fever) and asthma/allergies. For the most part, these two tend to go hand in hand. Thus, if doctors could somehow prevent allergies, they could control asthma.

Avatar m tn Hi, I saw only one other post on this. What is it when my eyes are fine to work, but as soon as I roll them, I get excrucuating pain behind the top of my orbit? Does not matter which direction I roll them. The pain is there like under my brow. Touching them with mild pressure on the eyelids also causes similar pain (I know - then don't do thta!) Does NOT hurt to blink, hurts less when closed and moving. I am 50 years old.
Avatar f tn I take singulair and doxepin perscribed by my allergist to control hives. I sometimes breakout with red pimple sores that hurt. A medical friend said the sores look like spider bites, but I'm sure they aren't. Can either singulair or doxepincause this reaction, and if so, what can I do for the sores short of not taking the medicine. Benidryl and oether similar medicines do not control my hives.
