im at such a loss, from what i have put together is this is trimnal, with treatment basically i guess you can live longer,, I guess what im asking you all, what can i do when im so far away, i will go home as much as i can, when iam out there do i spend everyminute with him? i dont want to cling to him like a bad smell..lol.. but i need to make the best of the time i have with him.. im scarred...

Response to imatinib (gleevec) can be dramatic just like what you experienced. Myelosuppression with neutropenia (decrease in neutrophils) and thrombocytopenia (decrease in platelet count) can be a side effect of treatment. Usually, discontinuation of drug intake is advised until the blood counts increase. You should have your white blood cell count repeated after 1-2 weeks and see if it already improves. You should report to your doctor if you experience any symptoms like fever.
Hi, I don't know the answer -- but since both CML and Gleevec toxicity produce anemia because of marrow suppression, maybe it's not possible to tell the difference. E.g., both would show a low reticulocyte count.

Is it possible that after taking gleevec for only two weeks WBC droped from 36.7 to 7? All other blood counts are also came back to normal range. Could doctor make mistake in diagnosis of CML? Maybe I should get seg second opinion?
I was diagnosed with CML and given Gleevec 400 ml. After taking gleevec for 2 weeks doctor took additional blood test. My WBC dropped from 36.5 to 7.1 and all other blood counts came down to normal range. I'm wondering if gleevec could give such fast hematological response or I was possibly misdiagnosed originally. I don't and didn't have any symptoms, my spleen and liver weren't enlarged, no enlarged lymph. Should I get second opinion asap? Please, help me.
I was diagnosed last year and was immediatley put on gleevec 400mg/day.At my last consult my metabolic stats had risen,hence blood tests to determine if the gleevec is no longer working.I am still in firstphase and wonder what my options are if the gleevec is no longer an option.Amin pretty good form,just very tired and a lot of bone pain.

I realize I am no longer in remission and they will reintroduce the Gleevec when my counts reach 500. I fear that I have diastolic dysfunction of the left ventricle, which is a side effect of the Gleevec. i take the chemo pill called gleevec and have to force myself to eat so i dont get sick when i take it. how long will these withdrawel problems go on? i have xanax to take (1mg) but dont work to good. i should would appreciate any advice from any one on how to deal with these issues, family dr says its anxiety but i think its the withdrawels from the high dose of elavil.
Anyway my question is does anyone know if they have come out with a generic Suboxone yet and if so will it be any cheaper and is there any type of Patient Assistance program that could help me. it will go away when you change your negative thinking, to postive thinking that is the truth. when you make it through some panic attacks using calming techniques. when you find a med that works for you (this is your choice). and when you are no longer scared of panic attacks. that's the cure. easier said then done, but can be done with practice. I am having really bad anxiety and i dont know if it is from the medication or me worrying about taking it. How long does it take take effect? anything anyone could tell me would be great.
IF I take the FRER today (AF due on Sunday) and it is negative, does that mean I am automatically NOT pregnant or does it mean that FOR ME it is still too early to tell? Now I know if I take it on Sunday or Monday it would be accurate because Sunday is when I am due. I am so desperate this month more than ever because I don't know if I will continue to "Try" after this. I feel broken...
