when did hyzaar go generic

My MD put me on Hyzaar for hypertension. Previously I had been on Cozaar but she changed it to Hyzaar for the added benefit of the diuretic. I noticed my drug company autosubbed generic Losortan. The bottle doesn't say anything about hydrochlorothiazide being included. Could I be getting the wrong thing, or should I assume some form of hydrochlorothiazide is included?

I have been told that it is hereditary and there is nothing I can do to stop it. I am on metoprolol tartare 25 mg. and hyzaar 100/25, both taken 1 qd. hyzaar in am and meto... in pm. We are talking that within 2 years I will have a valve replacement (when it reaches 5.0 cm). Is there anything I can do to stop the progression?

He is currently on Tikosyn, Pradaxa for Clot Prevention/Stroke, Hyzaar for his 40-year-history of HPB, Zoloft for anxiety/depression following a job loss in 3/09, Gabapention for sciatica, and Vitamin D and multivitamin. ve gone from 280 to 248 or so. My high blood pressure was under control at the 280 lb mark by way of Hyzaar 100-25. My blood pressure is now in the low range (averaging 108/58). At what point in my weight loss (goal of 220 or lower) would you think I'd need to have my BP meds changed (if at all). hi there: I am 30 year old male with relatively sedentary life. I have been experiencing shortness of bredth ( chocking feeling) whevever I go for brisk walks. It's accompanied with lightheadedness, tightness in the chest and rapid heart rate. Some time I get the sympoms at rest as well. Also, I feel very tired most of the day. My weight is 170 pounds, blood pressure is normal (I take Hyzaar) and cholestorel levels within normal range.

With the addition of Cytomel, I felt great and was able to eat a normal amount of food without gaining weight. When I changed insurance coverage, I had to use the generic form of T3. It didn't work like the Cytomel did. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing? My labs were not different on the Cytomel, but I felt so much better. (Unfortunately, when I decided to go back on the Cytomel after a year on the generic, I had an allergic reaction to it so can't take it.

I was on Lisinopril for kidneys too but it made me cough too much so my doctor switched me to Hyzaar.

Hey Maddie! I'm glad to hear you're back on the brand name and feeling better!! This is one of those never ending debates (generic vs brand). Doctors are pretty resistant to believe that there is ANY difference and are quick to say "it's in your head", and that simply isn't ALWAYS the case. The truth is, there ARE differences. They are complicated and hard to explain, but they are there.

Is your ejection fraction (EF) between 50 and 70%...that calculation is the amount in percentage of blood pumped out of the left ventricle with each heartbeat? Is your left ventricle enlarged? Those readings would indicate degree of any lost contractility, and whether or not there should be treatment and another cardiologist's analysis.

It is a combination of Valsartan and the same diuretic as Hyzaar. It is essentially the same as Hyzaar which contains a combination of hydrochlorothiazide and losartan. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic (water pill) that helps prevent your body from absorbing too much salt, which can cause fluid retention. Losartan is also in a group of drugs called angiotensin II receptor antagonists.

ve taken, both, generic levothyroxine (T4) and liothyronine (T3), as well, as brand name Synthroid and Cytomel. I did better on on generic levo than I did on Synthyroid... I've been taking generic liothyronine for over 5 yrs and have done just as well as I did on Cytomel. I don't think you'll have any difficulty, with generic T3, but if you do, you can always go back to Cytomel.

Please post your FT3, FT4 and TSH results with reference ranges. Your symptoms could be related to your FT3 and FT4 levels more than to generic vs. brand name. My endo also thinks that brand name drugs are more consistent. I go along with him since it's a small point to concede. I've been on generic, Synthroid and Levoxyl at one time or another, and, quite frankly, I see no difference whatsoever. Different brands have different fillers, and sometimes these cause problems.

There are two types of generic Fentanyl and at least one of you claims that one is superior to the other. Which one is the better of the two? My doctor is probably going to let me try the patches over the methadone and I just want to be sure. I am very tired and my heart rate is around 48, 50 bpm. Did anyone else take this medicine NADOLOL, and did it affect your heart rate like mine? This seems to be the only adverse side effect of my ablation, so far.

When my PCP first put me on generic I had terrible anxiety issues. As far as the headaches and weight gain these are symptoms of hypo so I too have these daily! After I saw and endocronologist he switched me to brand name Synthroid and increased my dose. I had nervous symptoms and headaches for the first week but they are diminishing. It might help to try name brand. Are you having any other symptoms? Did they run any other tests free T3, Free T4 and antibodies?

I wake up with numb hands alot sometimes up my arms too. Pressure is normal and I am on Crestor at the maximum dose, toprol xl, coumadin, plavix, hyzaar, aciphex, hay fever meds. Prior to this he was advised to use Slo Niacin. When he began the lipitor, his dr. did not tell him to stop taking the Slo Niacin. He has been taking them together daily. Last week he experienced more frequent, loose bowels, but did not feel "sick"..This went away and he started to have muscle pain in the chest and upper back and his legs..that began 3 days ago. The muscle pain is preventing him from getting any sleep. he has missed the last 2 days of work.
