zomig

768044 tn?1294223436 I also have a prescription for Imitrex Injection too, although the Imitrex Injection is to use for my most severe migraine headaches (what I used to call my "suicide headaches" or what I now refer to as a 9/10 headache using the Pain Scale that was recently posted in Pain Management Community Forum). I don't use Imitrex Injection often. Mostly I stick with my Zomig and for the majority of my migraines and the Zomig works.
768044 tn?1294223436 t mean that some people might find they do get great results from the tablets even if the zomig is absorbed better in terms of a nasal spray... so, if the tablets DO work for you, I'd never suggest switching to the nasal spray just because the nasal spray is "supposed" to work better.) I liked the maxalt for a while. A lot of my friends use it. It also tastes awful. But, it works really well. It stopped working for me for some reason, I don't know why.
86075 tn?1238115091 I have taken zomig for my migraines. it comes in a pill or nasal spray. if you can deal with nasal spray use it. it works really fast i just cant spray anything up my nose! haha one time was all i could handle. i take maxalt. for me it works the fastest. your dr. will probably give you several diff. kinds of samples and have you see which works best on you.
768044 tn?1294223436 Zomig seems to work for me, I also take 500mg magnesium with it. Sometimes Tylenol headache, but it usually doesn't work..........If I have to go to the ER they use DHE, with Haldol because of the side effects of the DHE, that works.
Avatar n tn I have been taking Zomig 2.5mg which is a serotonin agonist. Naproxen is given for migraine patients because it works synergistically with serotonin agonists as it also increases the activity of serotonin in the synapse. However, I would love to have some effective pain medication so that I don't take Zomig everyday! My neurologist advised me to take the Zomig as soon as I feel a headache coming on so that it doesn't snowball into a severe migraine...
1102283 tn?1257817472 Anyway, because of superior bioavailability of the more expensive triptans is why I suggest getting the back up prescriptions for the Zomig Nasal Spray and the Maxalt-MLTs just in case the generic Sumatriptan tablets do not work for you. But, for cost reasons, fill the generic Sumatriptan tablet prescription first! (as long as the doctor at the clinic agrees) And, try to get samples of what ever triptans the clinic has to hand out if possible, regardless of the brand..
1125820 tn?1265284446 t tried the Zomig Nasal Spray yet, then I highly recommend Zomig Nasal Spray. The bioavailability of Zomig Nasal Spray is even better than Zomig by IV... so it is also much better than Zomig tablets or Zomig rapid melts. Statistically, according to trial results, Zomig Nasal Spray is one of the best triptans. I also don't think you mentioned any antiemetics. I think it would be really worth it talking to your doctor about Metoclopramide.
910419 tn?1289483727 I have a tentative diagnosis of basilar migraine that got slapped on me ~7 years ago. That was before my heart condition was diagnosed, so I'm not sure if I still qualify. The thing is, I have an Rx for Zomig, (a triptan) and my mom's made me really scared of taking the Zomig for fear of cutting off blood circulation. Does anybody else here have basilar migraines and take triptans? If not, do you have an abortive of any kind?
1132246 tn?1260288259 You start it a few days before your period and usually use it for 7 days in total. It stops the drop in estrogen basically, which is what they believe triggers the menstrual migraines. I would talk to your doctor about a prescription for Estradiol gel. Tracy mentioned triptans, although you mentioned that in the past the triptans haven't worked on your headaches very well.
521800 tn?1212329682 Hi, Thats a great feedback from your side .Zomig is Zolmitriptan which is an approved medicine for relief from acute attack of migraine. You got relief with zomid nasal spray that proves that your symptoms are due migraine only.Zolmitriptan can be used for long term for acute attack of migraine with or without aura.Side effects include increased risk of myocardial ischemia and cardiac arrythmia. You should check on your blood pressure and EKG to be on safer side.
Avatar f tn To date I hvae been on three medications for my headaches (meloxicam, zomig and propranolol) but nothing seems to help. My headache has lasted for a month straight but it seems to be getting worse. My family doctor seems to think that I have sinus, tension and migraine headaches. The pain and sensitivity to light has become so bad that I have to sit in a dark and not move all night after a day at school. The pain is mainly behind my eye and on my nose bridge, then it spreeds to my forehead.
Avatar m tn 5mg orally disintegrating tablets take up to 1 hour to work... so that is not so good for SS, it would be good for pain but not good for SS. Probably the 5mg Zomig Nasal Spray which works in 10 minutes or the 5mg Zomig-ZMT which works in 30 minutes would be best for SS. So... it really depends on how long your SS lasts for. If it lasts for more than half an hour usually, a quick dissolve tablet might be an option for you.
Avatar n tn It is called rebound headaches and is common with syndol. Also Syndol is for short term use not years and years of daily use. You need to go to your dr and explain whats going on. He can help you and stop giving you that medecine. I wish you luck. You are only 23 yrs old and if this is how you feel now think of ehat its gonna be at 33 or 43. Get it together....you can do it.
Avatar f tn this is known as off labeling...where a drug is intended for one purpose but used for another....in this case insomnia......
1807779 tn?1333840302 I take fiorcet whenever I have a bad headache. It works well for me.
Avatar f tn what are you taking for migraine that is 2 every 3-4 hours as needed? I ask because many narcotics cause rebound headaches. I thought I had migraines years ago but it was rebound headaches caused from the norco I took for my back surgery. The pain of rebound headaches is as bad as a migraine for sure. There are much better meds for real migraine.
Avatar f tn Headache on left front side with a crazy visual aura, took zomig, hour later took ibuprofen 600, albuterol sulfate and Ritalin. Cold and hot feeling across skin, mostly on right side, nausea, joint pain, burning pain in abdomen and chest, dizzy, tired and short of breath. Migrating sharp pains across body. Ringing ears. Vision is unnaturally blurry. Chest and stomach symptoms worsen when laying down, head symptoms worsen when standing up.
Avatar f tn Has anyone used Remeron for depression, while taking Maxalt for their migraines? I have migraines about every other day, and take 5mg maxalt for them. I was just given Remeron for depression, as the doc said i cannot take any SSRI's because of serotonin syndrome. I cannot find and interactions for Remeron, but just wondering if anyone else has tried these together. Any info appreciated.
Avatar n tn Does anyone have experience with using Zomig or one of the other Triptan medications during pregnancy? What was your experience like? Tylenol is not working for me.
Avatar f tn ITS THAT BAD THAT I GET UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT.NO MEDICATION HELP ME. I GOT CT SCAN DONT EVERYTHINGIS FINE. IT GOES AWAY FOR FEW MONTHS AND COME BACK.. I DNT UNDERSTAND WHATS GOING ON WITH ME.
Avatar m tn I have been having severe migraines for the past year and a half. I've been on 3 different medications including, inderal 10 milligrams which stopped working, inderal 25 milligrams which caused me to black out and get dizzy, and amitriptyline 25 milligrams, which stopped working. I'm concerned because after talking to my doctor he looked at my charts and noted that I relapse with migraines every three months. These migraines are so severe it keeps me from doing my every day activities.
