Avatar m tn Hi Doctor, what is your opinion of when Incivek will be approved for transplant patients? Are they running or planning trials for post transplant patients or how does it normally work to get the process approved in this case?
Avatar n tn My opth has diagnosed me with blepharitis, I use sterilid w/ compresses and take flaxseed oil, and I also use preservative free eyedrops for moisture. However nothing has worked to my satisfaction besides tobradex which I've used for about a year and half- my eyelid inflammation is pretty severe even with the other treatments, however w/ tobradex my symptoms are almost nonexistent.
Avatar n tn there are prograf assistance programs that the company offers. If this is not feasible than using other cheaper medications such as verapamil for example for HTN for example will alllow much lower doses of prograf to be used (it delays metabolism of the medication) and thus it comes out cheaper.
461838 tn?1255790216 I don't know much about prednisone, but I do know that it is a steroid. So I hope that in headshops case his doctors have weighed all other options. As I've been told steroids are not to be given to a person with HepC or a bad liver, that is what I've heard from some doctors. A liver transplant is a different issue as supposedly the person who just rec'd a new liver is what it is. A new uninfected liver, so there's room for slack with that issue.

1463785 tn?1286595561 Topical antifungals and mild steroids are the usual treatment and combination of the two can be used to treat stubborn patches. Oral antifungal drugs and immunomodulators such as tacrolimus and pimecrolimus are used in very severe cases. The other possibilities are of eczema or dermatitis. Best would be to consult a dermatologist and get biopsy skin done to confirm the diagnosis.
Avatar f tn What is acceptable treatment plan? Is any research completed or currently conducted?

I used hydrocortisone cream and it the bumps seemed to get better but what I'm left with now is my entire scrotum and penis are red and a bit sensitive to touch. It's not alot of pain and no itching at all and I have no raised bumps or rash. The skin has just turned red.

Mycophenolate mofetil should be used with caution in individuals who fail on azathioprine (Mycophenolate mofetil substitute) and corticosteroids. Plasma exchange (PE) and Human immune globulin are tried if there is respiratory problems and gysphagia. Some even benefit with thymectomy or removal of thymus. Tacrolimus is another drug which can be tried.
