And the doctor suggests it no harm in using for longer period. Problem with this kid is that he is asymptomatic. He is active enough and good in all other aspects. Every six months we have the tests and assuring that the kidney growth and capacity is as per his age.
At what age he will be cooperative for doing this test?
Please advice whether the usage of medicine for longer period causes any side-effects in future.
Also suggests any further care to be taken for the kid.

Funny enough you mention this I took Oxybutynin for awhile and a bit excessively, I keep thinking that this messed up my gut and caused this curse of a phenomenon.
I'm 33 year old male, I was diagnosed with phimosis 2yrs ago. I've been having the constant urge to urinate but with only a low flow and sometimes spraying. I've been through testing for uti, std, bladder cancer (cystoscopy) but yet know one can give me an answer as to why I always have the urge. My 7 y.o. is awaiting a pediatric urology appt but is currently taking oxybutynin 10 mg. After months of her primary thinking it was vag related, a ped gyn dx'd bladder contraction/spasms. These are daily... all day... and now waking her in the night. She is going half crazy from the constant discomfort, which she eases by pressing on her vag area. This is interfering, of course, with her everday life.
I've been taking Lovastatin for 2 months. For the past couple of weeks I've been experiencing aching kidneys and I'm very tired. I had blood work done today for follow up of the drug and notified the doctor that I had this problem. My body temperature is 96.8, which I realize is a bit low, but perhaps normal? Could the achiness be due to the Lovastatin? I'm quite concerned about this and have had kidney problems as a child.
I Cher, I too was diagnose with IC in 2008. It is a tricky disease that one. Have you had any surgeries that would account for the pain? Did you try Hydroxyzine by any chance. I'm sorry you have to deal with this and there is no easy answer. Do you have ulcers in your bladder, have you tried instillations? I personnaly have not used elmiron or instillations because my URO doesn't believe in them, so curious if you have tried them.
Hi all, a bit about my history, have had an overactive bladder treated for about last 20 years with oxybutynin and whilst not perfect, everything was fine to live a normal lifestyle, play sports, gym, go out drinking etc, I’m now 38, male.
A couple of years ago I felt like what was a trapped nerve around my coccyx area and was unable to sit down for a couple of days, the pain was excruciating.
A doctor who was a MD looked at my genital and said looks like no disease but some yeast infection it looks dry,she asked me if I am diabetic,then I explained the situation what I did with it,she was assuming i myself cause the problem with the sanatizer and later she took tests for STD and it came back negative,but mean while I had frequent urination and sudden diarrhea for 3 days and when I went back for second visit the doc said she will see my urine in microscope and results still normal no
i went to a doctor several times, they checked my urine, did psa test, did post void ultrasound and said everything is normal. doctor prescribed some oxybutynin which after doing research, i found out is for overactive bladder, but i dont have any of the symptoms that i found listed for this condition. anyway, i was desperate so i said to doctor i will give it a try but there is no improvement whatsoever after taking pills for over 2 weeks.

I do not wake up at least four times in the middle of the night, the pelvic pain is better (I also have endo so sometimes hard to distinguish what is causing the pain.) Plus I do not have to go to the bathroom very hour. Did your doctor tell you that you need yearly blood tests to check liver levels?
I also stay away from foods like fruit juice, pears (yes I know they say you can have pears but my body did not read this).
All of these symptoms were brushed off for the last year or two but a few months ago I was put on oxybutynin for palmar hyperhydrosis, which helped for a while until I began to feel out of it. This is when all my symptoms started happening at once to the point where it is debilitating. I got off the medicine and felt a little better but still not normal. Met with an endocrinologist and had a blood pressure of 165/76 and bloodwork done.
