Avatar m tn As I stated before you should not go over 1500mg of potassium supplement daily, regardless what form it is in (expensive or cheap), due to potassium being in almost all our food sources. You will have the 2000mg a day from supplement + food combined.
757137 tn?1347196453 A medium size banana has about 422 mg you will need about 3-4 bananas! Now will that cause CONSTIPATION?
Avatar n tn what is the difference between Potassium Chloride, Potassium Nitrate and Potassium Citrate?
Avatar n tn Ok...I was confused as I was not aware this could happen like this, I thought they were in tandem....huh....well If I find ne info I will let u know. Didn't ur Dr advise u how to do this?
1618806 tn?1304734477 Salad binge?! I eat salads every day. LOL! But I'm highly concerned about the advice your dishing out about Ms. Dash. Ms. Dash IS NOT a salt substitute it is merely a salt replacement. There's a WORLD of difference between Ms. Dash and Morton Salt Substitute (for example) which is loaded with Potassium Chloride. If you take the time to read the ingredients on ANY Ms. Dash flavors, you'll find nothing but herbs and spices, there's absolutely NO potassium chloride in it.
617141 tn?1225706428 Transfer was postponed till I get better. Doctor gave me Lasix 40 mg to be taken once and Neo-K (potassium chloride) 500 mg twice daily for 5 days for now. My concern is that I ate two potatoes, one banana, a cup of yogurt, and tomato, all potassium sources today.

Avatar m tn m wondering if you can or can not use something like Lo Salt that has potassium chloride in it along with beta blockers, and if so how much is recommended. I'm looking to substitute lo salt for some other high in potassium foods in order to cut down on my sugar content.
456906 tn?1208569831 Too much potassium can be bad for anybody...they actually use potassium chloride in HIGH concentration for lethal injection. They use the same thing in IV's in low doses to keep people hydrated in the hospital. Too much of anything can be bad. I think it would be VERY difficult to bring yourself to the point where you had too much potassium.
Avatar f tn different kinds of potassium)on amazon. It is a powder formula, love it because I can’t swallow pills. (FYI: different kinds of potassium when you look to order) I ordered an 8oz bag in January 2020 for around $12.00 & has last me all year. I hope this may help someone!
732206 tn?1237293122 It does have caffeine in it and may make him awake more often. If you still want to breast feed, suggest just taking multi-vitamins with 100% recommended doses of vitamins and minerals.
Avatar f tn You could use it everyday all over your body. Magnesium helps restless leg syndrome and leg cramps. I use it for cramps. My sis in law uses it for pain in the groin area. It helps. when you spray it on, it goes thru the skin to your blood to the cells where its needed .. 94% of the population accdg. to studies is low on Magnesium, this is one way to get your supplementation. There is no overdose on Mg spray, your body will only absorb what it needs.
Avatar f tn t make it. I gave up on it for a couple of years because it hurt too bad. Back at it again and doing accupuncture. Feel like a different women with these treatments and hoping they help. Take care!
Avatar f tn Potassium is a chemical element and it is part of the electrolyte that should be in balance with other lytes to adequately conduct an electrical impulse that originates with the sinus node in the right atrium. The mechanism of action is not completely understood, but what is when a voltage (unit of potential for conduction) and electrolyte there will conduction and passage of electrical impluses.
Avatar m tn I can't find the source of my information but I remember reading that metoprolol is potassium sparing drug - meaning it doesn't cause potassium levels to drop. I don't believe that consuming fruit with a high K diet alone would raise K values to the point of side effects. At the moment I am more interested in the magnesium deficiency/arrhythmia information that I have read about. There seems to be something to that side of the electrolyte balance.
Avatar m tn When I stretch the neck up, arrhythmia dissapears even before infusion of potassium chloride. What could be here a problem? How can I heal that problem. Additinally, I got the hypothyroidism (Hashimoto syndrome). I take the thyroxine to keep the TSH hormone stable. Free thyroxine level in blood is also normal. Usually I feel discomfort in the middle of the spine. After X ray tests of complete spine cord, doctors found nothing pathological.
Avatar n tn I've been told I should increase my electrolyte intake. I've done so but am still having problems. I'm wondering if it's because of the type of electrolytes I've been using, mainly potassium citrate and magnesium citrate. I'm mainly interested in the best electrolytes for neural and brain health and was wondering if someone could suggest me some. I'm kind of interested in magnesium chloride.
798555 tn?1292787551 Thru personal trial with the types of Magnesium (many) I have learned some work, and do absolutely nothing. You get what you pay for. So I'm applying that same lesson to Potassium. Potassium is good for nerves and muscles (supposedly) just like Mag which good for Hashimoto hypothyroid individuals like myself as is can relieve muscle and lower extremity tightness , aches in the feet and legs.
Avatar f tn Feeling like passing out, dizzy, throwing up and the excessive sweating for about 5-10 minutes. After the 5-10 minutes it goes away. Has happened several times now.
Avatar m tn Gitelman’s syndrome is a rare inherited defect in the renal tubule of the kidneys. This defect causes the kidney to waste magnesium, sodium, potassium and chloride in the urine, instead of reabsorbing it back into the bloodstream. Urine calcium levels are lower than normal, despite normal serum values. This syndrome does not cause kidney failure nor does it cause the kidneys to function abnormally. The kidneys are normal.
Avatar f tn It was a Urine Albumin Creatinine Ratio Test (UACR Test) The lab didn't gave the range for Albumin and creatinine. The range was only for the ratio that is <30 mg/g. I'm panicking because my urine is still foamy and on various they said it's associated with kidney issues. Should I do a GFR Test?
