I have been on Ditropan, then Ditropan XR (or EX, don't remember which is correct) and after about 10 years that didn't work, so my doctor put me on Enablex and that works pretty well. Then I got a new Dr. and he wanted to switch me to Vesicare. That didn't work well, either, and I began having episodes of incontinence and urgency again. It's almost open enrollment for Medicare Part D, and the plan that is the most affordable otherwise doesn't cover Enablex at all anymore.

No you will not lose weight while on Tapazole as this med blocks the thyroid function causing weight gain. I tried everything I possibly could...treadmill, healthy foods and still no weight loss. Not until my levels were stable. Worry about the thyroid issue first and getting well and the weight will then sort itself out. I went from 55kgs to 71kgs and am now at 60kgs. But as my Doc said to me.........you will never get back down to the weight you was as the weight was HYPER weight.

m taking some drugs during a fertility treatment. So, if u r taking some drugs, then they may make u gain weight, otherwise gaining weight before u find out u r preggo could be for some other reason. Good luck.

Many people who remain hypo do have weight gain issues. Some people who remain hyper gain weight even though most people lose weight. Remaining out of balance, either way, does more harm to your body than adding or removing a few pounds, or a few dozen pounds.

Weight loss and gain seem to vary with the individual. How much did you lose? A common problem seems to be gaining weight back in places we don't want it. . . . around the waist or hips. Also, for those who gain SVR, the metabolism seems to slow so that getting rid of the new fat can be difficult. The standard guidelines of healthy diet and exercise seem to be the essentials.

I think my weight gain has somethimg to do with the paxil, snacks, that hubby likes to have in the house. Don't get me wrong I really don't have to eat those snacks but I do at night.

please people tell me there are others out there that are gaining weight on the riba, incivek and peg... i hate that this is happening to me. i lost weight the first year of treatment and NOW ....aaaaaahhhhhh..oh well things could be way worse.. i feel better allready just having talked about it..take care all you hep warriors....

I assume you meant one tablet 5x/week (not day). There are some people with weight gain with thyroid replacement - but most weight gain is (unfortunately) lifestyle. It is important to make sure the TSH in target range -- which may be 0.2-0.5 depending on the risk of your thyroid cancer.

Thyroxin doesnt make you gain the weight...unstable levels do. Once you go hypo after RAI (I went hypo after 5 weeks)....then thyroxin will help you stabalise your levels. Good luck with the RAI....its nowhere near as bad as Hyperthyroidism and Graves. You will feel like a new person after the RAI. The symptoms arent so severe either...when you go hyper/hypo. Just make sure your Doc doesnt let your TSH go higher than 10.0 before you start on a low dose of thyroxin. Yell out if you need to vent.

Has anyone had weight gain post treatment? I've heard that weight comes back quickly after treatment is stopped. I lost 25 pounds during treatment and I'm very proud of my new figure. Any suggestions on preventing weight gain post treatment?

and once I have completed the antibiotics is there a chance of losing the weight? or at least stopping the weight gain. Aside from the vanity point of losing the weight I am sure it makes the arthritis and numbness worse to be carrying around 40 - 50 extra pounds. I simply don't know how to fix this problem, as crazy as that sounds.

I was told that I would loose a lot of weight so I put 20 lbs on b4 treatment... but lost nothing.... my treatment is now more than halfway through and I am trying to find some way to loose this fatty looking tissue especially around my waist...... I also cannot work out... have a ribo cough and feel crappie... but I have no problem eating...

hello i've been bulimic w/ anorexic tendancies for 7 years. last year i lost 30lbs. and kept it off. i stayed at a weight for a year. Now i ate for the first time over the holidays without purging. i weighed myself christmas eve, and again yesterday. Thats 32 days, in which i gained 13.5 lbs. i did eat over the holidays, but went right back to binging, purging, and restricting.

A healthy and regular meal is vital to gain or lose weight. Consuming more calories than you burn will help you in gaining weight. Try to gain weight in a healthy way. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Avoid foods like cookies, chips, aerated drinks .You can also do aerobic exercises or exercises which will help you gain muscle mass. Your labs are hyper, but many of us who are hyper gain weight. Thryoid diseases affect our metabolism, which can be a cause of a lot of weight issues, higher and lower. This is not that unusual at all. Can you confirm a sonogram/ultrasound diagnosis?

On celexa, tried oxybutinin and myrbetriq. Gave me anxiety. Is enablex a good choice? Side effect of celexa was frequent urination. Eneblex only one that didn't cause anxiety, but side effects are bad. Anybody?

I feel better and am actually now 5wks 3 days pregnant!! Anyway my point is that yes you can gain weight from going through all this. But i would not worry about it right now. You will be able to lose it after you have a baby!! Some exercise can't hurt, like walking and light stuff, but I understand your feelings of not wanting to over do it.
