take your meds - if you have permanent AF I would guess you're on a beta blocker, and warfarin or aspirin ? Xarelto is a newer warfarin alternative but not if you have had valve problems. My wife has had AF for about 10 years and takes these meds and just lives with it.
As itdood says, just do the best you can and don't let it control your life. Don't worry about a single episode of VT, it probably won't happen again.

You have a lot going on in your body that could make you feel bad, beside taking warfarin, and the warfarin is probably the least likely culprit.

Futher to discussion re warfarin & eyebleeds (bleeds in eye), I have fairly frequent eybleeds which I find rather scary! The bleed usually continues for at least 2 days & takes over a week to clear. They have become worse & more frequent since I started on warfarin 2005. My INR tends to fluctuate & on 17/12/08 was 2.37. My current warfarin dose is 8 mg daily. Does this problem get worse over time?
Hi. I've been on these boards a long time. My last failed treatment had to fail because about 9 weeks into the treatment, I developed retinal hemmorhaging. My husband (we've divorced now, but not because of this). He had to do my shot that night into the back of the forearm because I felt so awful. As he prepared the medication, I had to keep correcting what he was doing.
There are biological treatments that can either dissolve the vegetations (clots) or at a minimum, stabilize it until the body can eliminate the clot. Anticoagulant medication (heparin, warfarin, etc.) can prevent any further clotting (stabilize) or a more potent agent (streptokinase, urokinase, tPA, etc,) which actively dissolve clots. Can be delievered with minimum intervention directly to the site of interest or no intervention with injection to the blood stream.

There is evidence from studies that in patients over the age of 75, there is increased risk of extracranial bleeding (outside the head) compared to treatment with warfarin. Advantages include no need for routine monitoring, and standard dosing. However, disadvantages include difficulty with reversal if bleeding occurs, and cost.
Xarelto (rivaroxaban) is a newer drug which is approved for afib not due to valve abnormalities (like Pradaxa), and prevention of DVT after orthopedic surgery.
