Avatar f tn I read your point and find that it was very bad experience for you. Most of the people visit to a dentist who does not have experience in sedation dentistry. It is important to choose a dentist who has good experience in sedation dentistry or a relevant degree. One should study about sedation dentistry to clear the confusions in mind. A lot of guides are available online that will help a lot to know the benefits & procedure of sedation dentistry.
Avatar m tn In a study published today (1 August) in the Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis, researchers show that warfarin reduces the scarring on the liver. This scarring, or fibrosis, replaces normal liver cells and can lead to cirrhosis of the liver and ultimately liver failure.
1679243 tn?1307674938 This is more of a question about Warfarin, Plavix, blood thinning treatment ect... I was swimming yesterday with my kids and was rubbing my eyes a good bit. Afterwards my wife noticed my left eye was bleeding, not pouring blood but there is blood in the white part of my eye. Doesn't hurt or bother me it's just a nice size blood spot. I've been on Warfarin and Plavix and a daily baby aspirin for over 6 months to treat my heart disease.
Avatar m tn In some parts of the world little effort or even no effort is taken to sterilize dental equipment. Yes it's possible to get Hepatitis C from dental tools that haven't been sterilized. Take the time and ask the dentist how the tools are sterilized. Go to a dentist you know practices sterilizing all the dental tools between patients.
Avatar f tn My son is very strong n hates his hair being cut, eyes being checked n teeth being cleaned. Now has cavaties...anyone have their kids have sediative dentistry. He needs an hour n half worth of work n think might be least traumatic if he is fully sedated? I have no experience.
Avatar n tn I just got back from seeing my doctor and was told that aspirin is no substitute for warfarin. The problem is in establishing a consistent INR reading of 2-3. as soon as I can achieve that reading I will only have to go for blood test once a month. The stroke, according to my cardiologist was caused by Afib.
Avatar n tn It can be effective, but if the dentist uses this technique exclusively I would be cautious. In my opinion, muscle tension is a result of disc displacements in the TMJ and there are many other complicating factors that should not be overlooked. When dentists buy the necessary technology to do NM dentistry they take training to go with it. That training alone is not adequate to treat all the the TMJ problems out there. This has been my experience.
Avatar f tn I started 5 mg of warfarin on friday..today is sunday and i am seriously considering not taking my dose today at 10am. I started my schedule for taking it at 10am daily. When i took my first dose friday at 10am later that day right around 3 or 4 i started experiencing intense upset stomach.
Avatar f tn I have on many occassions stopped my warfarin for medical procedure reasons. I take only 5 mg a day. So, in my exlperience on can stop "cold turkey" without any problems other than an increased chance of blood clots and storke. I have several risk factors, oncluding permenant AFib, so I have no choice. I do not have many side effects from Warfarin, but I am on less than half the dose you are taking. Do discuss with your doctor at your earliest, surely within a week or two.
Avatar n tn Some surgeons request that a patient not be on plavix or warfarin at the time of surgery in order to minimize the risk of bleeding. Traditionally, the effects of plavix on platelets is minimal after 5 days. Usually, blood clots normally about three days after taking warfarin. This is quite variable and can be confirmed by a blood test (either checking INR or prothrombin time), prior to surgery.
Avatar m tn If you are dealing with a missing tooth, yellow teeth, teeth with multi color or any other teeth problems, cosmetic dentistry can be a boon for you. It is quite necessary that a person's teeth are in good condition, aligned properly for a great smile which is a way to self-confidence. One should visit a cosmetic dentistry.

Avatar m tn s ok but the fact that I had to chew on my left side where I have an abscess now my left side is in excruciating pain, my teeth hurt and my face hurts because it is swollen and now I have a puffiness underneath my eye that feels like there's liquid in it. Avatar f tn The dentistry of teeth and jaw and treatment regarding that refers to orthodontic dentistry. One can correct that malpositioned teeth and jaw as well as prevent its causes. But affordable treatments should be give preference and one can get a wonderful smile through it.
Avatar n tn If a patient on warfarin has a condition, such as a stomach ulcer, that makes anticoagulation undesirable, then any bleeding of the ulcer might be considered a side effect of warfarin. There is also an unusual but real conditon called warfarin necrosis, in which the skin ulcerates and sloughs off, but warfarin necrosis is pretty much unmistakable, and it doesn't sound like your father has that.
Avatar f tn I take warfarin everyday. I had aortic valve replacement in 2001 and had an artificial heart valve installed. The downside to that is I will have to take blood thinners for the rest of my life because of the artificial valve. That is not the case with a tissue valve. It has really not had any affect on me at all. The one thing that I know warfarin affects is Vitamin K. Vitamin K is what causes your blood to clot. Therefore the warfarin cancels out some of the Vit.
Avatar f tn 3 days later (boxing day) I was rushed to hospital with chest pains and diagnosed with self imposed pulmonary embolism. I was put on to Warfarin and monitored in hospital for 2 weeks.
Avatar n tn He says I have chances of getting a clot in damaged section of heart (anterior) and warfarin is more effective. For last two yesrs I am on asprin+clopidogrel. My EF is 35% due to MI in 2007. Anyone who has experience and/or information on above, please advise.
996946 tn?1503249112 Warfarin works by reducing clotting agents present in the blood which means you are more prone to bleeding. You should watch for blood in your faeces and try not to bruise yourself too much. It is also a good idea to have regular blood tests for checking Liver function. Are you on Warfarin long term?
1569985 tn?1328247482 drug so your blood is still thin while you are off the warfarin. They gave me Lovenox in the hospital, and I used it at home before my warfarin levels were up to where they wanted them after cardioversion. I did read of one post on here where the woman had a stroke after going off her blood thinning therapy before a colonoscopy. I have yet to have my colonscopy and that is one of the reasons. My Lovenox was paid for by my Medicare Part A because I received it in the hospital.
