Pregnant women should get the "flu shot"— an inactivated vaccine (containing fragments of killed influenza virus) that is given with a needle, usually in the arm. Avatar f tn ll regarding the vaccine, I will not be getting it. They have only tested the H1N1 vaccine for 1 month and only on older people. That is definitely not enough time for side effects to show up or to tell if it truely works or not. The regular Flu vaccine has been around for many years and has definitely been tested enough. So, I am leary about getting any vaccine that has not had the appropriate amount of time to test and make sure that their are no real problems with it.

On the other hand, could be swelling has temporarily compressed some nerves, and whenever the sore place where the shot was calms down, so too would your hand function return.
