vicodin and weight

My question is this, Has anyone lost weight after getting off Vicodin? I know when I take Vicodin it makes me feel smaller than I am.

no problem there, and as far as the xanax and the weight stuff, that depends. You can defintly kick the narcotics and probably with much less WD than most here on this forum. talk to your doc about it, as the xanax can help your WD's but you don't want to take too much. I have no idea on the weight loss med. I don't think you need it if you are on a healthy diet, but best to ask in case you can't WD from that without med help.

I never took vicodin, but during my drug use, i lost so much weight and looked like death. Since I have quit, I have put on 25 lbs and look good again, lol. Now that your getting clean soon, go get a big mac, quarter pounder, fries and 2 strawberry sundaes, lol. No wait, that might be as bad as using drugs, but that's what i did, haha. Keep working it and best of luck:) When are you taking the leap off the vicodin? You can do this girl.

Oh I so feel for you! I don't have fibro but I have two disc herniations and nerve damage into my right leg from a car accident. I was never able to tolerate Vicodin (It made me feel very depressed and scary and dark) so I can't imagine being dependant on it. Undertsand that dependance is such a different issue than addiction. You're using a drug to help you with a real medical conition, to help you cope with the pain. Not recreationally to get high.

In April 2015, I asked Dr for suboxone, as it helped me before to get off the vicodin. He wrote me an rx for 1 months worth of sublingual. I took it for 1 1/2 weeks and was done. Didn't particularly like the effects of it. I took a trip out of town. No more detox and was feeling pretty good. 4 weeks ago, my body did a flip of some sort. I started to hurt all over, became very weak and debilitated.

Needless to say, he was born with a bid head,small body and hooked on vicodin and pot, he also suffers from asthma. when I was pregnant with my children you couldnt take a tylenol, you just dealt with the pain. And you had a natural childbirth.

I am currently on Lyrica and take an occassional Vicodin for the pain. What kind of exercise can I do that will not increase any damage or pain in my thigh? I want to lose some weight and would like to know what you would recommend.

have been taking 7 10mg pills of vicodin for about 2 years now due to 5 herniated disks which cannot be operated on due to age 55 and weight. Several times I have tried to stop taking the pills and my heart pounds so hard I feel like I am going to have a heart attack. I have very high blood pressure and a weak heart due to weight issues. 280 lbs and 5'8". Is this just a symtom or can this be dangerous trying to get off pills.

It usually takes one hour for one true glass of wine to go through your system and be eliminated, depending on your weight and body mass. As long as you slept 8 hours since then and have not had anymore alcohol their should be no interactions. Take care, hope your pain gets better.

I have gained weight from taking way too much vicodin for 10 years (up to 25 a day). I tapered for 3 weeks and then stopped about 3 weeks ago but I don't think my metabolism has caught up. I exercise 3 or 4 days a week and hardly ever eat! I'm just not hungry at all. When I do eat, it's healthy -like apples or fruit but I can't seem to get this weight off! Does anyone know how long it takes???

There have been many pregnant moms on this forum who were addicted to pills and at a much higher dose than you. It is not safe for you to go cold turkey as your baby will feel the withdrawals more than you. Please talk to your OB and see what he/she recommends. It is best to be totally honest with everyone concerned. If they find out without being informed, it could cause problems.

it is such a weight off my shoulders to know i am not alone! My husband and i are clean 3+ days from vicodin and i just started feeling great about 4 hours ago. I woke up tired and feeling hopeless, but after 2 hours in the hot tub, a ton of vitamins, water and a healthy meal I feel great. i hope it lasts since tomorrow i go back to school and work. i am praying that i sleep well tonight and cant wait to feel even better in the coming days!

she is trying to get me calmed down so i can off taper off the vicodin and xanax. now i hear bad things about zyprexa. i can get past the weight gain, but not the sleepiness it can cause. i am afraid to take it. i know it is an antisycotic drug or how ever it is spelled. i am just thinking about throwing out all of my pills and living with this anxiety and depression. i guess the new thing now is take this drug if an antidepressant does not work. i can hear it makes you a zombie.

I relapsed on the vicodin and am now wondering if I should just continue to take the Ativan and slowly taper off of it? I don't know what to do. I don't want to get hooked on the Ativan and end up with a worse problem, but I haven't eaten or slept in days. I don't know what to do. Please someone help me.

the wd's are going to be abd but not going to be twice as bad, after taking it for mroe tahn two years its going to be as abd as its going tog et..itsmostly mental..the good thing is that hydrocodone(vicodin) is a medium potency opioid so it wont be as bad as some others out there. it is manageable especially if you guys come up with a taper plan will allow him to get completely off and have only minor discomfort...

but in my personal experience, thats all that vicodin does, too. vicodin makes me violently ill and i found that ibuprofen, tylenol and asprin all worked better than the vicodin...but i talked to my doc first, which is what you should do.

For example, Vicodin can be 5mg of hydro and 500mg of tylenol as can Lortab. Or Vicodin can be 10mg of hydro and 325 mg of tylenol and so can Lortab. So they only way one will be stronger than the other as if the Vicodin was 5/500 and the Lortab is 10/325. I hope I have been clear in anwsering your question. If I haven't been please let me know.

I am having a c section on the 4th of Jan and got addicted to vicodin after falling down the stairs. I've been abusing them for my last two trimesters and am worried about my son. All of my tests are normal, he is actually above in the weight area, but i'm worried about the drs and my fiancee finding out and my son going through withdrawl. I'm scared to talk to my doctor because I don't want my son taken away from me.

I had brain tumor surgery in June and have been on Vicodin. In the last month i have been alternating (every 4 hrs) both Vicodin and Tramadol on a daily basis.I thought it would be a good way to decrease the Vicodin. I read the "precautions" for tramadol and it states "do not take with narcotics or other opioids". Then I realize that tramadol is just as addicting as vicodin. So why would a physician prescribe tramadol to try to get off the vicodin?

Starting this new anti-inflammation med and I read it could cause weight gain and swelling.....anyone have this as a symptom? How well does it work? Have a lot of pain from herniated discs in my neck and back.

m pregnant and addicted to opiates (vicodin) and let me tell you, a HUGE weight will be lifted off your shoulders if you tell your doctor. The only problem I can see happening is the doctor saying, "You wont go through withdrawal because Tramadol is a non narcotic"... If that happens, you definitely have to stand your ground and let them know you are addicted and are afraid to withdraw by yourself.

Oh I forgot to write what pills I take, mostly percosets or vicodin, I've been taking them for over 2 years now and I take up to 7 five milligram vicodin or 5 or 6 five milligram percoset at one time. That is the part that scares me, taking so many at one time. I don't take them all day like I used to, only that one time usually at night. I can't believe that I need to take that many at once to get a high. I never would have thought it would ever have gotten this bad.

Hawke - Depression runs on one side of my family and on the other side is alcoholism. I am completely off the Vicodin pills. No one knows but you and others on this board. I am amazed that I have been able to keep it secret. My husband suspected and I cut back once he started to suspect. Depression is still bad but not as bad as last evening. I almost caved last night and took 1/8 of a pill but didn't. Thank God I have Seroquel, it helps with the anxiety and sleep.

what could be happening in my body that once I lay down and fall asleep, this happens? And again, ONLY when I take vicodin. But why SO many hours after the dose? And it only triggers when I fall asleep. If anyone has any insight or have had a similar experience, I'd love to hear from you but in closing -- Vicodin will kill me, I have received my warning more than once.
