Can anybody please name me a lab in Pakistan where I can get my hbsag quant iu/ml done for medication as well as information regarding response to medication. I tried to search that in famous labs here in pakistan like chughtai's ,and agha khan but they are only providing qualitative results and not quantitative in iu/ml.

When I asked the Lab attendant that where is this blood sample going to be tested and she replied that it will be tested in Lahore Branch which is like 4 hours drive from Multan. I am curious about the reliability of test as the blood samples are taken from one place to another through vehicle transport. Are antibodies going to be detectable because of this transport issue ? Are the samples supposed to be saved on certain temperature parameters ?

The professor doctor gave him a lot of tests and we found out that he has a stone in kidney, stones and infection in bladder, slighty prostate, He is diagnosed HCV+.High blood sugar. He was treated with bladder infection first and his high fever gone. Now its turn for HCV+. Tests are HCV Quantitative 587762IU/mL (1469405 copies/ml) Dated 12-12-09. Hemoglobin 13,8 g/dL, WBC Count 4.1x10e3/uL, RBC Count 4.64x10e6/uL, RBC Distribution Width 12.5fL, Platelet Count 101x10e3/uL.

I am 27 years old male from Pakistan. I was first detected with HbsAg+ in 2004 in screening. I got checked for LFT which was normal. Once a year I kept on monitoring LFT and it remained normal. In 2009, first time I got tested for HBV DNA by PCR which was negative with normal LFTs. HbeAg was negative. Same was in 2011. In NOV 2012, my HBV DNA was + and quantitative PCR resulted 4,180 copies per ml. LFT was normal. My hepatologist advised starting Entecavir 0.5 mg once a day.
