Avatar f tn Hematometra is an accumulation of blood in the uterus which would explain the endometrial thickening (I assume you mean "endometrial" versus "abdominal"). How thick is your lining? Hematometra is a risk of endometrial ablation and resulting pelvic pain. If you aren't menopausal, the ovaries continue to produce reproductive levels of hormones which cause the uterine lining to build up.
Avatar f tn Had to cancel fet cycle in April 2010 due to thin endometrial lining. Am preparing for another fet in May. Please does anyone know what can be done to improve endometrial thickness? Secondly, has anyone conceived with endometrial thickness of 7mm in fet? I'll appreciate your response.
Avatar n tn As for borderline, Im thinking she is curious if they are functioning correctly as your bleeding for som many days per month it would appear that something is off with the hormones, Its very normal for a woman your age to have a thicker than normal endometrial stripe, however bleeding for such an extensive lenght of time is not acceptable or in your best interest of health, not to mention the mere inconvience of it and possible cramping etc,,, All ultrasounds are done w water, they either fill
Avatar f tn Hi, I am 41 years old and have regular menstrual periods every month with no bleeding or spotting in between periods...Back in July 2010 I missed a period and an ultrasound showed a thickened endometrial lining..I had a biopsy performed in the Dr's office and the results were benign...Periods after this have been normal...I just went for my annual checkup and was told the lining is 15mm thick..I am due for my next period on the 28th of this month...dr.
Avatar f tn I am 52 years old postmenopausal 1 yr and 2 months. I have an endometrial lining of 14.95 and 2 fibroids that are each 2cm. each. How concerned should I be that this is cancer? Anyone else have anything similar to this?
675329 tn?1297288378 my endometrial lining was5.7 now it is up to 7 cm. the endometrial biopsy specimen didnot have enough tissue for a dx. the gyn stated we will do a repeat transvaginal ultrasound of your lining if remains thick we will do a d and c . i said yes, i prefer that to the painful endometrial biopsy which i had two of 6 months apart. they were benign so far. they are also monitoring a 3.2 left ovarian cyst. the ca 125 blood test i just took is normal. anyone have these situations. how did you all do.
Avatar n tn Having a thick endometrial lining- Does this means that you are infertile? Or that you can not carry a child?
5221069 tn?1366618397 I am wondering has anyone got any answers about whether acupuncture really works for improving embryo implantation? I am concerned I might not develop a thick enough endometrial lining and may need all the help i can get. Also what about progesterone supplementation?
752468 tn?1237560359 Hi! If you are interested, in how the cycle works, take a look at my blog article on the menstrual cycle. As best I understand your situation--it sounds something like this: In a normal cycle, during the first half or follicular phase, the ovaries are producing estrogen which causes the lining of the uterus to grow and thicken. At midcycle, ovulation occurs and the ovaries begin producing progesterone.
Avatar f tn I'm not too familiar with Cerophine, but I was on clomid for 5 months, 3 of those being with iui, and every time my lining wasn't too thick. It was around 8 mm at ovulation time. When conception happens, you want as thick a lining as you can get b/c it's what the baby needs to attach to for the pregnancy to continue. The thicker your lining, the better chance of pregnancy.
Avatar f tn If the thickness persists after a repeat scan then ideally an endometrial biopsy is to be done to rule out endometrial hyperplasia and the risk of cancer. The answer is based on information provided. Exact advice is not possible without a proper examination and investigations. You are requested to consult your Doctor. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar m tn If your mom has not gone through menopause (as defined by NO period for a FULL year) then it is very common for the lining to get on the thick side due to the lack of ovulations leading up to menopause. In MOST cases, the lining eventually sheds before anything serious / sinister happens. If a biopsy would happen to show hyperplasia, that is usually curable with hormonal medications.
Avatar f tn I had very similar finding on my endometrial lining ( for several years), I had 3 biopsies which all came back normal. However, other issues came up and I just recently had to have a hysterectomy (total abdominal) and my uterus was full of adenomyosis. I would think the very least your doctor would do is an endometrial biopsy. Let us know what he says!
Avatar f tn Do you mean an 18mm thickening of your uterine lining? That would make more sense. When post-menopausal women have a thickened lining, doctors typically want to do an endometrial biopsy to check for "abnormal" cells - hyperplasia or cancer. This is an in office procedure that takes some tissue from the uterine lining and sends it to pathology for biopsy.
Avatar f tn Your evaluation will likely involve a pregnancy test (if not done already), and lab work for the hormones noted above, and an endometrial biopsy to assess for abnormal endometrial tissue (i.e., endometrial overgrowth or cancer) and with those results and underlying cause and further management can be determined. Best regards, Dr.
Avatar f tn Hi, D&C is a minor procedure that is done to get a sample of endometrium for histological testing. This may also remove the endometrial polyp. D&C can be combined with a hysteroscopy which is the direct visualization of the endometrium. If it turns out to be cancer, then a hysterectomy will be necessary. This will be done later and not at the time of D&C. Hope this helps.
1380492 tn?1279128416 Ok it all depends on how much lining was removed.... or ur tubal ligation was removed.. If a woman resumes her periods at some point after an endometrial ablation then it is possible she can very well get pregnant. If she has gone through with a tubal ligation to prevent this from happening, then she may wish to seek a tubal ligation reversal in order to allow her the opportunity to get pregnant.
Avatar n tn For example, in a post-menopausal women, an endometrial stripe (thickness) of greater than 8mm is cause for further investigation, though some consider 5mm to be the "cut-off." However, in menstruating women, it's not abnormal for the thickness to be up to 13mm during the proliferative stage of the cycle.......so the signficance of your endometrial stripe REALLY depends on your age/whether you're menopausal or not, etc.
Avatar m tn I went to my gyn doctor, because I told her i did not have a period in four months she gave me an appt to have transvaginal sonogram. it showed thick uterine lining of 10 mm therefore she said that i needed an endometrial biopsy which i had. my results came back benign, thank God. I asked her if I needed to take any hormone therapy like progesterone, she said no she does not like putting her patients on hormones due to the side effects only if absolutely necessary.
Avatar n tn I also have iron deficiency anemia because of this. I have had endometrial biopsies (about a year ago) and Pelvic/transvaginal ultra sounds which did show a thickened lining but otherwise normal. My Dr has prescribed Prometrium 200mgs to be taken for the 1st 5 days of my next period. Everything I have read about this is that it is usually prescribed for 10 days before your period, so I am confused.
Avatar n tn Meanwhile, inside the uterus, the lining is getting thicker as the hormones that the follicular cyst is producing (estrogen) cause the endometrial lining to grow. This is all to prepare for a pregnancy. Right before menstruation, the lining is quite thick indeed. then when a pregnancy does not occur, the lining sloughs. that is called menstruation. so for you, if your are right before menstruation, that ultrasound could be completely normal.
Avatar f tn I CAN NOT GET MY LINNING THICKER THAN 5MM FOR IVF TRANSFER , DO YOU HAVE SUGGESTION ON WHAT ELSE TO USE OTHER THAN ESTRACE. This discussion is related to Follow Up Question about endometrium lining thickness.
Avatar f tn Welcome to the community. I am not a doctor or other medical professional but have learned a lot about gynecologic issues after being over-treated and harmed. You will need to ask your doctor to clarify but from what I know, here is what I can glean from the report: - You have fibroids (myomatous uterus) which probably explains the "heterogenous" lining. They provided the dimensions of one fibroid, probably the most obvious and/or largest (which is actually quite small).
Avatar f tn C or an endometrial biopsy either way. Postmenopausal bleeding can happen for no reason at all (as if your body wants to give it one last shot to have a period), because the lining of the uterus is dry and it bleeds, or because there is a problem brewing in the uterus. I would wait to see what the results of the biopsy are and go from there. If you are told that there is insufficient cells to read the biopsy, then you should have a D&C for a complete evaluation.
Avatar m tn My uterine lining has thickened to 13mms. I have normal can-125 and am very thin. Worry about uterine cancer!!!! Dr did endometrial biopsy....said specimen looked normal....
