Common Questions and Answers about Viagra and lotrel

Avatar n tn In May I noticed my feet starting to tingle again. Gradually it has gotten severe and it is also burning. As a test I went off Lotrel for two days and the tingling and burning disappeared. When I went back on it, it flared up again. Have you ever heard of ace inhibitors aggravating peripheral neuropathy? I haven't told my doctor yet as I'm afraid he will tell me it's all in my head or that it isn't Lotrel. Please help!
Avatar n tn Talk with your physician about your concerns and possibly the medications can be changed. I have never heard or read that Lotrel causes neuropathy, but that does NOT mean it can't happen. It is possibly however that the Prilosec may be effecting your B levels/absorption.
Avatar m tn I do have high blood pressure and take Lotrel 10/20 and hydrochlorthiazide 25mg. My question is whether or not this conditon can be improved with better blood pressure control.
Avatar f tn Is it safe to try the diuretic to see what happens? Also, (2) Is it safe to take Valturna and Lotrel together? I know the ACE and ARB drugs are similar. Thank you for your assistance.
Avatar f tn Hello, I've been taking Lotrel 5/20 for the past 5 years to control my hypertension. However, based on my latest blood pressure readings, I think I may need a stronger dose. My question is...how does the doctor determine which would be more effective for me: increasing my dose to 5/40 or increasing it to 10/20? Is there a rule of thumb to determine which of the meds in Lotrel should be increased? I thank you for your assistance.
Avatar m tn I have high blood pressure and take Lotrel and hydrochlorthiazide.. I am considering a beta blocker if the doctor insists. The cardiologist told me the results were not bad, but heart is slightly stiff. I know that is diastolic dysfunction. Are there meds for that condition? Avatar m tn A week ago I had an episode of high blood pressure (180/110) and palpitations. I called my doctor the next day and he prescribed me Lotrel (5/20mg). My BP came down to ~120/90. I stopped taking the Lotrel after the first day, BP shot up to 170/122, went to emergency. Saw my doctor yesterday, he checked blood and urine work (all clean), did EKG and said I have a fast heart rate (~90-95bpm) and hypertension. He prescribed me Coreg CR 80mg. Is the Coreg CR necessary?
Avatar f tn So it has nothing to do with MS. Viagra increases blood flow and it helps a lot. It will drop your blood pressure and you don't want it to drop to a dangerous level, so you need to monitor it. Start with the minimum effective dose which is 25mg and see if it does something for you. If you wait for a study from the FDA on Viagra for MS, then it will probably happen after you are dead. Please try this now. Viagra has a very good safety profile for a number of years now.
Avatar m tn Please do more web searches and DO NOT use Viagra, Cialis, and Levitra. I also have RP and ED. I bought L-arginine/Orinithine but am wary about using until I read that it's ok. Blood flow changes seem to be very bad to already bad retinal cells.
Avatar f tn My husband is on the medication Suboxone and I was needing to know if he can take Viagra with this medicine? We don't want him to take it and go into withdraws or anything so, are the two compatible?
Avatar n tn I am scheduled for a thallium stress test, and would like to know how the use of viagra or nitro prior to the test would influance the results.
Avatar m tn It has helped but it has not solved the problem. I went to my doctor and he gave me a prescription for Viagra, 50 mg. My question is this: Is it safe to occasionally take Viagra if I also take L-Arginine? Are there are any potential contra indications in that Viagra should not be taken by a person who takes L-Arginine? If so, is the contraindication just for that day? In other words, would I be safe if I did not take L-Arginine on the day I took Viagra?
Avatar f tn I am just trying to find out if occasional use of viagra would be safe or a risk to take.
Avatar m tn Ive also been tested for HIV so I know thats not an issue and I protect myself while having sex. But I think there may be a correlation between using viagra and my outbreaks. Any ideas?
Avatar m tn That is because Viagra was a mixture of compounds put together in a drug company to give help to angina sufferers, but the very noticeable side effect was seen. However, they re-branded it for the purpose we see today.
Avatar n tn Definitely check in with your health care provider before using viagra and heart medication. Viagra was accidentally discovered to work for ED when being studied for it's affects on the heart. They always ask you if you are taking this. Men taking ED medications can not take nitrates as a general rule.
Avatar m tn I do not believe this was caused by Viagra. It usually causes a vascular problem. The new onset of floater should be considered an urgent condition. It is may be associated with retinal tears and subsequent retinal detachment. Dr. O.
17995067 tn?1462167674 to the best of my knowledge, there is no such thing as generic Viagra. Viagra is a cash cow for Phiser, and ten years ago a SINGLE pill was 10 dollars, NOW a single bill is 30 Dollars. Every time the time period lapses for this drug to qualify for generic, they tie it up with paperwork-refile with a slight change to keep the generic out of it. If you are getting something from outside the us, it is likely not Viagra at all.
576875 tn?1217987525 I am 61, Male, in good health. I take Atenolol and Lotrel for HBP and is consistantly 136/68. My cholesterol was off the charts and began a regimine of Lipitor in 2001. Within a few months I had severe muscle pain and loss of strength. I was taken off Lipitor. My current LDL is about 180 and use Flax Oil and Niacin supplements daily. Since beginning Lotrel in 2007 I have had a recurrence of severe muscle pain and weakness.
Avatar m tn I know LVH is not good and diastolic dysfunction is not good. My valves are ok. I have hypertension and take Lotrel 10/20 and hydrochlorthiazide 25mg. I also had a nuclear adenosine stress test recently. The results of this test showed an area of reduced counts in the inferior wall after administration of adenosine and at rest. The ejection fraction was estimated at 49%. At the time of this test I was taking 25 mg of metoprolol in addition to the Lotrel and hydrochlorthiazide.
Avatar m tn I don't have ED but I was curious if my erections could be stronger. I spoke with my doctor and tried Cialis and Viagra. Since they have much different half-lives, I thought I'd try the following: Taking 10-20 mg Cialis every 2-3 days, then taking 20-40 mg Viagra (generic sildenafil) before sexual activity. My questions isn't whether this is effective - it certainly is. But is there any risk to doing this? I moved so I don't have a doctor right now.
Avatar m tn He dilated both my eyes as I was not able to pinpoint the floaters and flashes and informed me that both my retinas looked absolutely fine with no holes, tears or hemorraghesor detachment. He did attribute my symptoms to PVD which he described might have been due to my inital trauma that caused some inflamation and subsequent liqufication of the vitreous gel. He informed me that I could continue my activites as normal.

Avatar f tn I am in my mid 40s, I have ED and peyronie disease and I am taking Viagra to help with my erections because staying hard has been a challenge for the last year. It works well and my wife is happy. Recently I have been curious about using a penis ring in conjunction with Viagra to make my orgasms more intense, however I am slightly worried that this could be dangerous given how Viagra increases blood flow and a ring cuts it off and also... peyronie disease. Is it safe?
