AFter my 84 yr old Mother had an MI and CHF. The MD now has her on Toprol and Imdur with a parameter of not to give if 100/60 This is too low. I find it should be more like 120/60. Even then I have been holding them and by nighttime the BP can be as high as 180/60-90. We are going for an apt. But in the meantime have talked to my friend a pharmacist. She suggested giving the toprol and not the imdur which I did. (She also gets Aldactone 25 and lasix 20 which I have given 30 min apart.
The chest pains continued every few days and they were given Imdur. The imdur caused extreme dizziness and near fainting along witht he worst head ache and a "foggy" feeling. The patient was told by one cardiologist:"we dont know much about this and you may just have to love with it". The patient is 42 with no smoking, normal to low BP (normal of 100/60 for them) , in great shape. The Imdur has proved worse for quality of life then the actual anigna attacks.
So it has nothing to do with MS. Viagra increases blood flow and it helps a lot. It will drop your blood pressure and you don't want it to drop to a dangerous level, so you need to monitor it. Start with the minimum effective dose which is 25mg and see if it does something for you. If you wait for a study from the FDA on Viagra for MS, then it will probably happen after you are dead. Please try this now. Viagra has a very good safety profile for a number of years now.
My husband is on the medication Suboxone and I was needing to know if he can take Viagra with this medicine? We don't want him to take it and go into withdraws or anything so, are the two compatible?
It has helped but it has not solved the problem. I went to my doctor and he gave me a prescription for Viagra, 50 mg. My question is this: Is it safe to occasionally take Viagra if I also take L-Arginine? Are there are any potential contra indications in that Viagra should not be taken by a person who takes L-Arginine? If so, is the contraindication just for that day? In other words, would I be safe if I did not take L-Arginine on the day I took Viagra?
I am just trying to find out if occasional use of viagra would be safe or a risk to take.
Imdur is a nitrate that targets coronary vessels. It relaxes and dilates the coronary arteries to supply an ample amount of blood/oxygen. The cost may be a deficit in other areas when there is vigorous exertion. There is other medication to dilate system vessels such as an ACE inhibitor and a beta blocker.
I have a totally blocked LAD and the RCA was stented about 4 years ago.
That is because Viagra was a mixture of compounds put together in a drug company to give help to angina sufferers, but the very noticeable side effect was seen. However, they re-branded it for the purpose we see today.
Definitely check in with your health care provider before using viagra and heart medication. Viagra was accidentally discovered to work for ED when being studied for it's affects on the heart. They always ask you if you are taking this. Men taking ED medications can not take nitrates as a general rule.
I do not believe this was caused by Viagra. It usually causes a vascular problem.
The new onset of floater should be considered an urgent condition. It is may be associated with retinal tears and subsequent retinal detachment.

I have been hospitalized repeatedly since the heart attack and have tried all the usual medications such as verapamil, cardizem, imdur, metoprolol, lisinopril, norvasc and magnesium. I do not tolerate cardizem or imdur well. The angina was not controlled until they started me on Ranexa last year because the pain was constant and severe. I couldn't even walk across the room without severe pain.
Recently I had a near syncopal episode while driveing and my doctor thought it was due to orthostatic hypotentsion, he cut my Imdur down to 60mg daily. After about 5 days on the lower dose I started haveing pain again,not as severe,but I upped my Indur back to 90mg which has helped. But I am having some episodes of angina even after 2 weeks on my initial dose. I am on 500mg bid of Ranexa-Have other pts had recurrent pain after a couple of months on Ranexa which required higher doseing ?
The meds that make an impact, both good and bad, are Carvedilol, Clonidine, and Imdur. He had a huge scare last year with him mixing up medicines. Basically, he overdosed because he was on so many different ones that he wasn't even sure anymore which ones he was supposed to be taking. There had been so many changes to which meds and how much of each. When I went behind him trying to figure out what had actually happened, it's scary.
Before the Feb stent I was having shortness of breath, dizzyness and lightheadedness and was on Imdur. Now it has been 2 days and the dizzyness and lightheadedness is gone, however the shortness of breath is still going on even when I am just sitting? My cardiologists took me off of the Imdur. So my question is it normal to have the shortness of breath and chest discomfort 2 days after a stent procedure?
I don't have ED but I was curious if my erections could be stronger. I spoke with my doctor and tried Cialis and Viagra. Since they have much different half-lives, I thought I'd try the following: Taking 10-20 mg Cialis every 2-3 days, then taking 20-40 mg Viagra (generic sildenafil) before sexual activity. My questions isn't whether this is effective - it certainly is. But is there any risk to doing this? I moved so I don't have a doctor right now.
m in morning no food allowed for 2 1/2 hrs and the throbbing headache side effect lasts from them til 5 or 530 then wanes until I take the next day same time and repeat side effect is same. Called Dr who is my cardiologist and the nurse called back and said that means its working on the vessels inclucing the heart. I had stents put in August of 2020 and have had chest pain and lower front teeth throbbing which in the past usually meant a blockage .
