Common Questions and Answers about Viagra alpha blocker

viagra

Avatar m tn VIGAMED is not a PDE-5 inhibitor, it is an alpha blocker, it blocks alpha receptors in the penis and inhibits the effects of stress hormones. Your erections will be stronger, even after ejaculation. VIGAMED is not available in the US, but you can order it online A third possible is valerian. Valerian root is a mild sedative and has none of the side effects of chemical anxiolytics. I always take 150 mg of valerian 30 minutes before sex and it works. I hope this helps. Good luck!
Avatar m tn If your problem is premature ejaculation, there many effective solutions available. Ejaculation is controlled by the sympathetic nervous system, so what you need is something that blocks sympathetic activity in the genital area. Alpha blockers can do the trick. I'm not a doctor but I suggest you try an alpha blocker called VIGAMED (oral phentolamine) 30 minutes before sex. VIGAMED is not Viagra, it is an entirely new treatment. It can improve erections and delay ejaculation.
Avatar f tn Inasmuch as the concomitant use of sildenafil citrate and alpha blockers may leads to symptomatic hypotension in certain patients, sildenafil should be used with caution in patients receiving alpha- adrenoblockers. The patients taking alpha blockers may use Viagra only after stabilizing of hemodynamic indexes. And lastly, certain drugs for cardiac disease may interact with Viagra, and if you are using them you should avoid it.
Avatar m tn t require a prescription, try Vigamed (oral phentolamine). Vigamed is not a PDE-5 inhibitor, it is an alpha blocker. Vigamed blocks alpha receptors and promotes blood flow to the penis to strengthen your erections. You can order it (without a prescription) here: www.vasomaxclinic.com If you prefer a natural solution, try PRELOX (L-arginine aspartate + pycnogenol + taurine). I usually don't trust 'natural' supplements but this one really does work.
Avatar n tn Beta blocker lowers the heart rate by blocking B receptors and Atenoplol is a beta blocker that only blocks the alpha receptor. I believe the alpha blocker is a better choice than a beta blocker because it is a positive inotropic agent for CHF as it increases the contractility force of a heartbeat...but it will increase the HR rate as well. I take coreg and that is a beta blocker and alpha blocker and recommended for CHF. Thank you. Ken.
Avatar m tn It seems that if norepinephrine is blocked via the alpha blocker than it would cancel out the effect of the norepinephrine re-uptake and subsequent positive effects of an SNRI.
Avatar m tn Unusual at such a young age, I think. But, being young you have a lot going for you. You need to discuss with your doctor to see if you need to do any changes in life-style. I don't have anything specific on the condition, but if your blood presssure needs to be kept in check. Beta Blocker is the usual, but maybe an alpa blocker will help, new one on me. I think the main concern about a thick chamber wall is if it is stable.
612551 tn?1450022175 Cialis may, even a higher mg of Viagra may. First understand the way these work are not instant unless you have been taking the Cialis daily for a few days. For some people it can take several hours before they respond to them. For these people the effect normally will go for longer. I suggest you check out the time table for yourself and take them accordingly.
Avatar m tn I have BPH. About six months ago I took one viagra pill. I did not feel it helped me. So a few days later I took another one. In the morning I could not pass urine. It was pretty hard to urinate. I never touched viagra after that. After that event, everytime I ejaculate (few times) I have a lot of problem urinating. Taking natural medicine. This trouble period last about a week. Does ejaculation swolen the prostate, or is this a permanent damage from Viagra? .
Avatar n tn Hello Doctor: My husband has not been able to get it up in two years. He is 64 years old. Last year his PSA levels were spikeing but then they went down and so he just dropped it. Otherwise he is very healthly. He doesn't seem to care that he can't do it anymore. We did try viagra once and it didn't do anything to him. About 16 years ago he had that operation because he couldn't pee. Could this have anything to do with it.
Avatar n tn I also suggest you try VIGAMED (formerly known as Vasomax). It is not a PDE-5 inhibitor, it is an alpha blocker. VIGAMED blocks alpha receptors in the penis and inhibits the negative effects of stress hormones (adrenaline is an erection killer). This drug is not available in the US but you can order it online. I'm also trying a new approach: take an anti-anxiety med and get to the root of the problem.
1517808 tn?1290813790 I have the same condition. My general doctor referred me to an allergist/immunologist, and I was told that I have autoimmune urticaria (hives). I was prescribed an antihistamine (Zyrtec), Zantac75 (an antacid that also has "alpha blocker" properties), and Doxepin (an antidepressant that also has "alpha blocker" properties. Over time, I stopped taking the Zyrtec and Zantac. Now I am only taking the Doxepin. This seems to control everything pretty well.
Avatar f tn I use to love to drink and smoke? If a friend would call me to ask me to go out I would go. Now I don't ever go. Does a beta blocker in anyway help you to stop drinking or smoking because you think those two things would be hard to do? I found it a piece of cake!
Avatar n tn Hi Everyone, Quick little background before I get to my question. I'm a 24 year old, healthy male who has been experiencing some ED symptoms since I was about 19 years old. When I first experienced these symptoms, I was prescribed Viagra to overcome a "mental block" and did not need to use this drug after about 2 months to get and maintain an erection. Same situation with my most recent girlfriend.
Avatar m tn m currently taking uroaxtral for urinary frequency because of a diagnosis of non-bacterial prostatitis and it is working for the most part. The start of the alpha blocker I started got me really constipated. Could constipation be causing some of my urinary symptoms and what do you think could of caused me to get non-bacterial prostatitis. I'm kind of worried if I stop the alpha blocker because of the constipation, I don't want to get urinary retention.
Avatar n tn In mid of January, I had sex using condom with a prostitute and she also gave (unprotected) oral sex on me. Until early April, I had no obvious symptom of STD such as discharge, rash painful urination etc. However recently, I felt slight discomfort at my prostate or rectum (don't know exactly where). I perform STD test using urine and blood sample. Before collecting my urine, doctor also massage my prostate to secrete some semen.
Avatar n tn t provide us with any information to work with. Take him to a doctor and ask for Viagra or Cialis. Also, try posting on Sexual Health, Erectile Dysfunction, and Mens Health forums.

Avatar f tn I was switched from Atenolol to Coreg in the hopes that it would help with triglycerides, insulin issues and some fatigue. The tachycardia got WORSE! Coreg is a beta blocker but with alpha blocking activity. It's a non-selective a/b blocker which is known to have the side effect of tachycardia. I am going back to my doctor today to ask to get off of this stuff!!
Avatar m tn Hi, The medication's generic name is "Nebivolol". It's Brand Name is Nebilet, you may have the spelling off a little. From what I read, the drug "is a so-called vasodilating beta blocker. Thus, in contrast to traditional beta blockers, it is more patient friendly in that it maintains systemic flow and blood flow to target organs, lowers vascular resistance, and has very little, if any, metabolic adverse effects," Messerli explained.
Avatar n tn Recently my doc placed me on the Beta Blocker Bystolic. Week one was 5mg. Week 2 was 10mg and week three was the final ramped up dose of 20mg. I was fine on the 5 and 10 mg tablets but felt like crap in the morning after taking the 20mg tablet. The doc allowed me to cut the 20mg tablet in half until our next apt at which time he prescribed Carvedilol 25 mg twice a day. Anyone have any insight as to why he might have done that?
Avatar m tn You cleared hepatitis b and will be fine. I you ever have chemotherapy or TNF ALPHA supressing or blocking therapy, tell you doctor to place you under the temporal protection by tenofovir to prevent a reactivation.
Avatar f tn Are you urology doc?
Avatar m tn I'm hoping you've been properly diagnosed and it's not your prostate instead. If it is, either antibiotic or an alpha-blocker (Cardura or Flomax) can relax the prostate muscles. It might be worth a try.
1616953 tn?1443835511 She also switched the Alpha Blocker I was on. I think the new alpha blocker is about as good (or even worse) then the old one. Symptom wise its really getting serious. I've tried the Cath and Doc was right about the discomfort but it seems like it gets better. How many times a day do you do this and do you have any suggestions on what to do about it at work? I'm thinking more about Turp and have set up an appointment to talk to an NP who specializes in BPH.
1580703 tn?1651904887 I've been having chest pain on the left side relieved by this alpha blocker tamulosin. my R axis is really high 119 degrees and all the other axes are high on EKG with enlarged right atrium/ventricle isn't enlargement mean permanent damage to my heart? do I have some fibrosis as a result? thanks!
Avatar n tn I look up to you having an exorcise bike "indoors". Snow, Freezing temp.s, Wind, for this past week and expected for the next few days. I did have the idea of building a stand for my mountain bike so I can ride it indoors like an exorcise bike, but I'm not allowed to make such noise. :-( I asked the very same question last year, with the exception of the medication, I'm taking carvedilol which is an Alpha "and" Beta blocker.
