By exerting a direct spasmolytic action on the smooth muscle of the bladder, antispasmodic drugs have been reported to increase bladder capacity and effectively decrease or eliminate urge incontinence... Solifenacin succinate (VESIcare) Solifenacin succinate elicits competitive muscarinic receptor antagonist activity, which results in anticholinergic effect and inhibition of bladder smooth muscle contraction.
Avatar f tn I was on 10mg of Vesicare, and asked a similar question on this forum yesterday about Vesicare. Cheers, Udkas.
Avatar m tn After taking the meds for awhile my symptoms went away and I was symptom free for 3 years. Because of the expense of the vesicare and because I was doing so well. I decided to stop taking both medications. My bladder was fine and normal and then about a year later the symtoms came back. So I am now back on the vesicare and the fluoxetine. I have been on them for almost 4 weeks and while my frequency has improved I still have discomfort and tightness in my genital area. Is this a concern?
Avatar n tn I can't recall headaches directly, but I had to stop using this drug to manyother side effects. The major one was abdominal cramping. I also have long standing urological problems and Vesicare was causing problems in that area as well. Headaches could have been part of it as well. The drug was tried on June 12, 2008 and even has one Rep on it. I have most of the bottle left. I will never try it again. All the best.
Avatar n tn Ok here goes: I'm 28/female, pretty healthy ... on 10/6, about 1 week before I was to leave for Vegas I was extremely nervous about flying. Out of the blue I started having frequent urination problems. No urgency (meaning I could hold it if I had too) but just frequent trips to the bathroom. No real pain or anything. I have an underlying anxiety disorder that is not controlled and I did start to panic about these symptoms which in turn probably made them worse.
Avatar m tn I'm using Vesicare and Lyrica and I just got my urinalysis result and they're normal. Can Vesicare and Lyrica affect urinalysis? Are they antibiotics?
1056851 tn?1318720978 I'm taking 5mg of Vesicare, too. My neuro's PA wants me to take 10mg, but it dried out my mouth too much when I tried it. It works pretty good - it's not perfect. I still get incontinence - but maybe not so often. It has also reduced my urgency and frequency, but again, it's not perfect.
Avatar m tn It was good for few weeks but then the urge got stronger and I was again given Bactrim DS for 4 weeks and now even with Bactrim DC I am not feeling any better. Few days back the doctor increased the dose of Floamx to 0.8 mg and stopped the Vesicare. It did not help and the urge to urinate is there all the time and there is tightness in the bladder. I also took Celebrex for few days and it helped a little bit. i am also taking EZ tea but nothing is working.
Avatar m tn I have been told by my doctor that I have a chronic case of IC....(about three years ago) I was ok for awhile and, now the severe pain has returned....which meant I had to return to my urologist....He gave me elmiron and vesicare to treat the IC....the Elmiron never helped my pain and, the Vesicare took my blood pressure from 113/72 pulse 68 to 153/103 pulse 122...I contacted my urologist and, he stated...that's not true ... neither of these meds would cause your blood pressure to go up...
Avatar f tn My neuro says that I cant be having the sx Im having cause theres no lesions in the correct areas to substantiate those sx. So I been kind of depressed, and 5 neuros later I think Im giving up trying to find a dx. The PTC doesnt explain all my other sx. Anyway, I had started on the Vesicare 10mg, for my overactive bladder. Well it appeared to be working, so when I saw my urologist, I told him for the most part it is working.
Avatar f tn can someone please tell that which medicine works best for OAB ........VESICARE,ENABLEX OR DETROL LA..........I m male and 29 yrs old ,can i also take detrol la.....Any response should be highly appreciated..........
1188179 tn?1350116119 Forgot to say that after the failure of Vesicare, I was put back on Enablex for my overactive bladder. I'm also on Estrace Cream.
Avatar m tn m interested in hearing from anybody who has had similar symptoms, or a similar course of action before getting a diagnosis. I have never really heard of tinnitis or vertigo being symptoms of MS, and those are the main reasons I even started pursuing medical help to begin with. The doctors have ruled out some explanations (like the acoustic neuroma), but there are still other possibilities on the table (Meniere's disease, or even high blood pressure for example).
Avatar f tn Experienced sudden onset of pelvic pressure, bladder discomfort and urgency that has not gone away since the beginning of August. The symptoms began on day 2 of a long road trip/vacation. Pressure and bloating discomfort increases to a blinding discomfort as the bladder fills. I am able to sleep through the night without getting up and can will-away the thoughts of needing to void if I am calm and non-mobile. Ambulating creates enormous pressure with each footfall. I have been unable to work.
Avatar n tn It kind of sounds like a form of Action tremors, but I have to agree with mkh9.
Avatar m tn The cyst went down but the pain around the epdidymis persisted w/ no change. After 4 weeks of Vesicare I still have no change in my nocturia. I had an ultrasound of my bladder, testicles, kidneys all normal. I then had a cystoscopy done which showed no abnormalities besides a tight sphincter. My urologist told me to continue the Vesicare which I have been doing.

Avatar m tn The onset of action ranges from 45 minutes - 1 ½ hours, and the duration of action is six hours. Diazepam carries a bi-phasic half-life of 20-50 hours (for Diazepam), and 30-200 hours (for Desmethyldiazepam). Valium is indicated for the long-term management of generalized anxiety and tension-anxiety. Tolerance will not develop to the anxiolytic property of Diazepam, although tolerance will develop to the sedative/hypnotic property.
Avatar m tn A partial µ-opioid receptor agonist, its mixed agonist/antagonist activity affords it a lower risk of dependence and abuse than full µ agonists like morphine. Meptazinol exhibits not only a short onset of action, but also a shorter duration of action relative to other opioids such as morphine, pentazocine, or buprenorphine.
Avatar m tn The treatment of urgency incontinence usually consist of Estrogen vaginal cream, avoidance of foods and drink that cause bladder irritation, urgency suppression techniques, and medication. For those patients that do not respond to these therapies, other treatments, Tibial Nerve Stimulation, Interstim treatment, or Botox injections can be done. J.
Avatar f tn What is the onset of action after taking a dose of the immunoglobulin.
Avatar m tn So here I am on day 3 of Vesicare. Anyone have experience with this? I feel like since on it my frequency is actually up a bit. I was told to give it atleast one week but two is better to see improvement so I want to stick it out but I keep thinking can Vesicare make your frequency worse before better? I am not sure what's going and since it's the weekend kind of hard to call and ask!
