Ok here goes: I'm 28/female, pretty healthy ... on 10/6, about 1 week before I was to leave for Vegas I was extremely nervous about flying. Out of the blue I started having frequent urination problems. No urgency (meaning I could hold it if I had too) but just frequent trips to the bathroom. No real pain or anything. I have an underlying anxiety disorder that is not controlled and I did start to panic about these symptoms which in turn probably made them worse.
I have having OAB for years now, i am on vesicare medication but it is not really helping. Over the years i also been having ED here and there but recently it is getting worse...esp when i stop taking meds. Been seeing different urologist but they cant seem to find anything wrong with me. I am 34years.
I was also prescribed vesicare 5mg for my OAB ... I didn't go through any tests they just basically put me on the meds, I'm 28 with no real history of medical problems. I just had very frequent urination but no urgency or pain ... I was on vesicare for a good 4 weeks before I saw 100% improvement ...but after a week or so I def. noticed an improvement ... if it's been 4 weeks maybe call you dr., I know they can increase the dose up to 10mg.
hi, I'm 22, female. after having 2 cistoscopies last summer for a hamaturia I was left with OAB. the doctors said everything is fine but I can't manage to fully recover. I don't have UTI and I don't have any problem sleeping. the urgency is due to stress ( in public, at school, when other people are around), thong, pants and traveling by car but sometimes even when I walk. I never had leakage but I'm terrified of having one.
Definitely get your bladder checked for a urinary track infection. I doubt that's the case. What you are describing is exactly how I felt. Peeing once if not more an hour. Pee, stand up, feel like I have more. Incredible urgency to pee. You give in to go and your lucky to pee half a teaspoon, but it felt like you are holding back niagra falls. I have an overactive bladder. You need to cut down all your coffee, pop, tea, alcohol, and spicy food. Drink plenty of water. I know I know.
Started me on Levaquin 500mg PO QD x 7 days and Vesicare 10mg PO QD.The cyst went down but the pain around the epdidymis persisted w/ no change. After 4 weeks of Vesicare I still have no change in my nocturia. I had an ultrasound of my bladder, testicles, kidneys all normal. I then had a cystoscopy done which showed no abnormalities besides a tight sphincter. My urologist told me to continue the Vesicare which I have been doing.
It had started out as OAB (overactive bladder) and got progressively worse. It was a real dilemna because with the post op pain I couldn't move fast, but the urgency required me to move fast. I'd be fine one minute and the next minute I had to go so bad I couldn't hold it. Finally, the doc put me on Vesicare, but my insurance doesn't cover it so I had to change to Ditropan which was moderately effective.
However, the symptoms did not disappear completely so I was eventually diagnosed with OAB. I am on tropsium chloride, which is very helpful, but I have a few questions:
1) I had assumed the OAB was caused by the coil since its removal made the symptoms so much better, but my doctor looked at me strangely when I mentioned it so was it just a coincidence? I hate to self-diagnose but I got curious and researched.

I'm using Vesicare and Lyrica and I just got my urinalysis result and they're normal. Can Vesicare and Lyrica affect urinalysis? Are they antibiotics?
does anyone get headaches from taking vesicare?? They seen to go away with advil. Anyone had these symptons, did they lessen with longer use of vesicare??
Hi, You may have either overactive bladder or interstitial cystitis. Per your history you clearly don't have a UTI, STD or other infection. Your urnialysis is essentially normal. Frequency and urgency is the hallmark of overactive bladder (OAB) and about a third of patients have incontinence when they can't make it to the bathroom. Patients with (OAB) can also complain of a bladder spasm type sensation in the bladder.
4)mg but the urge to urinate was there all the time so my doctor added (Vesicare 5mg). It was good for few weeks but then the urge got stronger and I was again given Bactrim DS for 4 weeks and now even with Bactrim DC I am not feeling any better. Few days back the doctor increased the dose of Floamx to 0.8 mg and stopped the Vesicare. It did not help and the urge to urinate is there all the time and there is tightness in the bladder. I also took Celebrex for few days and it helped a little bit.
So I been kind of depressed, and 5 neuros later I think Im giving up trying to find a dx. The PTC doesnt explain all my other sx. Anyway, I had started on the Vesicare 10mg, for my overactive bladder. Well it appeared to be working, so when I saw my urologist, I told him for the most part it is working. Before I started the Diamox, my bladder kinda went back to the old dysfunctional way.
which meant I had to return to my urologist....He gave me elmiron and vesicare to treat the IC....the Elmiron never helped my pain and, the Vesicare took my blood pressure from 113/72 pulse 68 to 153/103 pulse 122...I contacted my urologist and, he stated...that's not true ... neither of these meds would cause your blood pressure to go up...well, I called him back four days later...
HI, You sound like you have the classic symptoms of overactive bladder. Overactive bladder (OAB) is driven by the strong ugency to urinate. It commonly causes urinary frequency and many patients get up at night to void. About a thrid of overactive bladder patients can't make it to the toilet and leak urine on the way.
