vesicare

Avatar f tn I used to and still go to a lot of horse events that are in remote areas and I used to have to take a bucket and pee in my horse float out of sight as the lines to the loo were always too long and there was only ever one toilet. Vesicare has changed that for me, you take your bladder and toileting for granted but I had also had accidents.
721523 tn?1331581802 I've honestly never been clear on how the drugs for overactive bladder help people with urine retention. I have noticed though that several forum members with retention take them and figure there must be a good reason why they are prescribed. Can you clarify Lulu? If it's not too personal.... do you have an additional problem with distention incontinence or urge incontinence that this type of drug helps control? Inquiring minds (or at least this one little mind) want to know.
Avatar m tn Hello, Overactive bladder is a medical condition which causes sudden and unstoppable need to urinate because of sudden, involuntary contraction of the muscle in the wall of the urinary bladder. It is also called urge incontinence. Treatment is divided into behavioral retraining, pharmacological (medications), and surgical treatment.
Avatar n tn Ok here goes: I'm 28/female, pretty healthy ... on 10/6, about 1 week before I was to leave for Vegas I was extremely nervous about flying. Out of the blue I started having frequent urination problems. No urgency (meaning I could hold it if I had too) but just frequent trips to the bathroom. No real pain or anything. I have an underlying anxiety disorder that is not controlled and I did start to panic about these symptoms which in turn probably made them worse.
Avatar n tn The major one was abdominal cramping. I also have long standing urological problems and Vesicare was causing problems in that area as well. Headaches could have been part of it as well. The drug was tried on June 12, 2008 and even has one Rep on it. I have most of the bottle left. I will never try it again. All the best.
Avatar m tn I'm using Vesicare and Lyrica and I just got my urinalysis result and they're normal. Can Vesicare and Lyrica affect urinalysis? Are they antibiotics?
Avatar n tn But i have noticed I am really tired all the time now and i developed a very sore throat - especailly in the morning. I think these are related to the increase of the tablet. Any other medications I can try?
1056851 tn?1318720978 But I have a combined therapy plan of drugs plus the intermittent self-catherization (3-4 times daily) to control a variety of problems. If just the vesicare alone is not doing all the work, you may want to discuss further options that can help. Remember there are a number of different incontinence drugs available and you may have to try more than one before you get the right one for you.
Avatar m tn It was good for few weeks but then the urge got stronger and I was again given Bactrim DS for 4 weeks and now even with Bactrim DC I am not feeling any better. Few days back the doctor increased the dose of Floamx to 0.8 mg and stopped the Vesicare. It did not help and the urge to urinate is there all the time and there is tightness in the bladder. I also took Celebrex for few days and it helped a little bit. i am also taking EZ tea but nothing is working.
Avatar f tn Still not dx. My neuro says that I cant be having the sx Im having cause theres no lesions in the correct areas to substantiate those sx. So I been kind of depressed, and 5 neuros later I think Im giving up trying to find a dx. The PTC doesnt explain all my other sx. Anyway, I had started on the Vesicare 10mg, for my overactive bladder. Well it appeared to be working, so when I saw my urologist, I told him for the most part it is working.
Avatar m tn which meant I had to return to my urologist....He gave me elmiron and vesicare to treat the IC....the Elmiron never helped my pain and, the Vesicare took my blood pressure from 113/72 pulse 68 to 153/103 pulse 122...I contacted my urologist and, he stated...that's not true ... neither of these meds would cause your blood pressure to go up...well, I called him back four days later...
338416 tn?1420045702 The good news is that I'll be seeing the PCP tomorrow for my wellness exam - I'm going to talk to him about my possible thyroid imbalance, so I can mention this too. Today I feel a lot better, aside from some soreness around that area. It's like it got a really hard workout last night! Too bad it wasn't more fun.
1188179 tn?1350116119 Forgot to say that after the failure of Vesicare, I was put back on Enablex for my overactive bladder. I'm also on Estrace Cream.
Avatar m tn For the past 7 months I have been experiencing bilateral testicular pain only upon palpation of my testicles on a certain area next to the epididymis bilaterally. At the same time I wake up in the middle of the night 3-4 times to urinate. I went to a urologist who said I have an inf inflamed testicular cyst on the right side and possibly a case of low grade epididymitis bilaterally. He also said most likely have overactive bladder.

535822 tn?1443976780 The New York Post today has said that there is a push for the 9/11 Trial to go to Govenor's Island , A lower Manhatton Community board called on fed officails yesterday to move the trail of the terrorists to Govenor's Island and passed a resolution demanding the shift, in a hearing with Downtown Residents who loathe the idea of the threats that would ensue and the lockdown it would involve, this makes sense to me , what say you ....
Avatar n tn Hi, The bladder spasms can make the bladder wall contract even before the bladder is completely full making the patient visit the toilet frequently. The muscle relaxants like vesicare are used for the treatment. However other methods can also be used like avoiding drinking things that act as bladder irritants such as sodas, alcohol or coffee. In some patients, electrical stimulation is applied to the nerves controlling spasms to make them relax.
Avatar m tn I am away from my home in Tampa, not planning on returning for another 2 weeks. Should I start the Vesicare tonight or will it muddy the waters, so to speak. I will see a urologist or a uro gynecologist upon my return. I plan to make the appointment prior to arrival home. Thanks.
Avatar f tn I Cher, I too was diagnose with IC in 2008. It is a tricky disease that one. Have you had any surgeries that would account for the pain? Did you try Hydroxyzine by any chance. I'm sorry you have to deal with this and there is no easy answer. Do you have ulcers in your bladder, have you tried instillations? I personnaly have not used elmiron or instillations because my URO doesn't believe in them, so curious if you have tried them.
Avatar m tn I have been using VESICARE for some time now, it does decrease the number of visit to the bathroom, however when you stop using it...the problem comes back. Its like it just manages the active bladder but doesn't cure it. Been using it for more than 2 years now.
Avatar f tn t pass - or let anything else pass - you can also safely use an oil enema. the Fleets or generic in the orange boxes are oil, which is mineral oil. Totally inert in the body. It will help to soften and to lubricate to do the job.
Avatar m tn The first can give rise to urge incontinency (urge to pee although the volume in the bladder is still low), the second can make it difficult to fully empty the bladder and so shortens the interval between to toilet visits. If the complaints are severe enough, there are several options: -There are several medicines to battle the symptoms (vesicare, tamsulosine) and -there is also a medicine combo that shrinks the prostate (combodart, avodart).
Avatar f tn I have having OAB for years now, i am on vesicare medication but it is not really helping. Over the years i also been having ED here and there but recently it is getting worse...esp when i stop taking meds. Been seeing different urologist but they cant seem to find anything wrong with me. I am 34years.
Avatar n tn Did Dr. do a scope and check for nodules? Dr. also needs to do a culture of the urine and check to see that the Cipro is the correct antibiotic. I would try Cranberry Juice and no caffeine at all. You can also try Azo-Standard(OTC) or Peridium. It will turn the Urine bright orange, but you will have bladder control. It will stain underwear, so wear panty liners. It makes me nauseated if I don't eat with it. It could be a kidney stone stuck in the ureter too.
Avatar n tn He gave me 5 mg of Vesicare to take once daily and told me to come back in a month. After 2 weeks, no relief from the Vesicare, so he gave me a 10 mg doseage. I return to see him on Monday (Feb. 11). My problem is, I have had this pain for 4 months now. I don't know what to do about it. I have tried eliminating citrus, acids, caffeine, etc. from my diet, but those things didn't seem to make it any worse and eliminating them didn't make it any better.
Avatar f tn txt Check out this link! Every now and then I just google Chiari and see if it is in the news anywhere! Sounds like someone or everyone here should do a bit more research!
