I had a urinary track infection last month and took 5 days ciprofloxycin course which cured it. After 3 weeks I had the same symptoms of burning and urge to urinate and the urologist did all the test and there was no bacterial infection. I also did all STD test and all were negative.He put me on Levofloxycin for 20 days with first 10 days with 500 mg and then 250 mg a day.There was not much of relief and the urge to urinate is still there.
-Are there any other tests that I ask my urologist to do to cover any STI
-I have read many posts that STIs in rare cases cause Prostatitis and does not cause Non-bacterial Prostatitis but the timing of the symptoms immediately 2 days after the exposure and Cipro treating it atleast for first 4 weeks suspect STI
-Can Prostatitis happen in 4 weeks of first exposure,I am in ealry 40's and have good health
-If we go the route of Prostatitis,do I need to test for bacterial prostatitis (PPMT)
My issue is that still we are only looking at symptoms and cannot pin point and treat the core problem. I posted a question earlier also but we were on IC/Prostatitis route then which is ruled out now.The urologist now say I might have NSU. Is there any test I can do to further check what could be the core issue or let it be and learn to live with it. Pls help.
The major one was abdominal cramping. I also have long standing urological problems and Vesicare was causing problems in that area as well. Headaches could have been part of it as well. The drug was tried on June 12, 2008 and even has one Rep on it.
I have most of the bottle left. I will never try it again.

he has done urodynamics and also looked into my bladder through scope and said that nothing is wrong with my bladder and urthera,he first gave me vesicare for a month than enablex but condition still remains the same ,then i went to another general phyisican he sent me for x-ray of my lower back,results came out negative.my urlogist told me to go to neurolgist...
I'm using Vesicare and Lyrica and I just got my urinalysis result and they're normal. Can Vesicare and Lyrica affect urinalysis? Are they antibiotics?
t thrilled w/ the doctor in general but she said it was just anxiety and stress. I decided for a 2nd opinion at a urologist and she agreed stress was the biggest culprit but thinks I could also have an OAB. Mind you I had a clean UTI at all the doctors, a good exam at my gyn but she sent me for ultrasound which was normal, and I had blood work done for all things including diabetes. Although my glucose came in at 101 and under 99 is the norm it wasn't cause for concern.
which meant I had to return to my urologist....He gave me elmiron and vesicare to treat the IC....the Elmiron never helped my pain and, the Vesicare took my blood pressure from 113/72 pulse 68 to 153/103 pulse 122...I contacted my urologist and, he stated...that's not true ... neither of these meds would cause your blood pressure to go up...well, I called him back four days later...

Down side of Vesicare is an EXTREME dry mouth and I mean extreme but it does get better and now for me EXTREME constipation, I have been on it for about 5mths and I was warned by both the neuro and the uro that it can affect this part of my body, but I also think i have loss of some function there too which wouldn't help.
I was put on Vesicare 5 mg daily and also was taking fluoxetine for depression and anxiety over this condition. After taking the meds for awhile my symptoms went away and I was symptom free for 3 years. Because of the expense of the vesicare and because I was doing so well. I decided to stop taking both medications. My bladder was fine and normal and then about a year later the symtoms came back. So I am now back on the vesicare and the fluoxetine.
I kept with the Vesicare and when we came back I was pretty depressed to be home and had maybe 2-3 days within 2 weeks I had "issuses" of frequency lasting a few hours but then they went away. As of last Mon 11/1, after 3 weeks on the Vesicare and after being home for 2 weeks Iam 100% back to normal and I can't tell if it's from the Vesicare or because the anxiety from the trip has finally faded out of my body as well as the depression from having to come back home.
He gave me Cipro (antibiotics) and VesiCare. Early October, I fly to China on work and the trip destroys me. I got no sleep going over and start feeling nauseous, fatigued, and lightheaded with no energy. I go to my primary care doc who never test for EBV. Fast forward to Dec-2012...I go to a new doc and he test for EBV and I have very high levels. My primary care doc doesn't believe it but my new docs says, yes, you have or had EBV recently.

Fatigue and dry mouth and dyspepsia are frequent side effects of Vesicare but it is unlikely to cause any sore throat. Your sore throat can be due to some viral infection. Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day and use over-the-counter throat lozenges. Salt water gargle is also a good way to relieve a sore throat. In addition, you can take anti inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen and paracetamol (acetaminophen) after consulting your general physician.
Can I take effexor with Flomax and vesicare as I had anxiety disorder and use to take effexor before but stopped it about 1 year back. Now I am having a lot more anxiety due to my present condition. After stopping the Vesicar I am feeling the urge to urine all the time and i have to use to wash room every hour. Should I start 5mmg Vesicare again?
It does work, but I have just gone off it due to it causing major constipation and I mean major and now my burning has come back so I guess I will have to go back on it and use both Vesicare and something for constipation to make me go.
I wish there was something else I could take, and oh yep some bladder urgency is back too and some spasms, I must admit this has made me a bit down as I thought perhaps after 5mths on the drug that the problem might have gone away.

After 4 weeks of Vesicare I still have no change in my nocturia. I had an ultrasound of my bladder, testicles, kidneys all normal. I then had a cystoscopy done which showed no abnormalities besides a tight sphincter. My urologist told me to continue the Vesicare which I have been doing.

i had a cmg test done today and the nusre told me it was the worst case of bladder spasm that she has ever seen and brought in other medical staff to see this they have put me on vesicare tablets 10 mg and i am wondering if there is anything else can be done i am worried in case it means i need to be catherterised because of this how likely is this ?
organs in the right place. Stretched my urethra...ugh. no better. said I had a stenosis and atrophy of the urethra. Gave me a script for Vesicare but told me to wait a few days to see how procedure goes. also mentioned estrogen Creme. I am miserable....what should I do?

What are the symptoms of prostatic hyperplasia and chronic prostatitis? How to distinguish between prostatic hyperplasia and chronic prostatitis?
I am worried about this prostatitis and if it is transmittable. I care about this girl deeply as a friend and potential long-term partner and do not want to pass it to her (not that I'd want to pass anything on to anyone). And even if it doesn't affect her I worry that she could potential pass it on to another partner.
My questions are:
Was this caused by chlamydia?
Can I transmit this? If so, is a condom effective protection.
Can I transmit it via her to someone else? (i.e.
I have having OAB for years now, i am on vesicare medication but it is not really helping. Over the years i also been having ED here and there but recently it is getting worse...esp when i stop taking meds. Been seeing different urologist but they cant seem to find anything wrong with me. I am 34years.
