Can I take effexor with Flomax and vesicare as I had anxiety disorder and use to take effexor before but stopped it about 1 year back. Now I am having a lot more anxiety due to my present condition. After stopping the Vesicar I am feeling the urge to urine all the time and i have to use to wash room every hour. Should I start 5mmg Vesicare again?
If his PSA value is low, it is just BPH (benign Prostate Hyperplasia). The prostate is enlarged (although 22cc is not big) and can press against the bladder or limit the flow of urine.
The first can give rise to urge incontinency (urge to pee although the volume in the bladder is still low), the second can make it difficult to fully empty the bladder and so shortens the interval between to toilet visits.
I am a 23 year old female who has the constant urge to urinate on and off for two months now. Various doctors have checked for a UTI and there is none. I have been on macrobid, vesicare and now I'm on flavoxate. Each of these medicines have worked for about a week and then I get the constant urge to urinate again. I just started the flavoxate and I have not gotten any relief. I'm not in any pain, but the constant urge to urinate seems painful and is affected my daily life greatly.
He gave me urogesic, cipro for 30 days and lyrica for 10 days. My bladder is in good condition with NO IC as per the pictures,my prostate is in good shape and size (thru DRE),I have done PPMT last week,there was no bacteria in prostate also.
I am certain that it all started with bacterial infection thru hand massage with vaginal fluid on the hand of masseuse.
My issue is that still we are only looking at symptoms and cannot pin point and treat the core problem.
I am considering the possibility that there are two problems. One is a problem with the prostate which is increased in size and is causing obstruction in flow. The other problem is on the bladder, which may be unable to maintain holding urine, so occasionally you wet the bed. It is simpler to think that the root of the problem would be the obstruction of flow, and so removal of the obstruction would solve everything.
The Flomax is aimed at reducing the size of the prostate.
The major one was abdominal cramping. I also have long standing urological problems and Vesicare was causing problems in that area as well. Headaches could have been part of it as well. The drug was tried on June 12, 2008 and even has one Rep on it.
I have most of the bottle left. I will never try it again.

I'm using Vesicare and Lyrica and I just got my urinalysis result and they're normal. Can Vesicare and Lyrica affect urinalysis? Are they antibiotics?
My general practicioner felt my prostate and said it seemed ok to her. Basically my symptoms are like a spasm like sensation, even more noticeable at night when I lie down. To clarify, I don't have any trouble controlling my bladder, just a constant urge to go, even when very little comes out..It just feels like a pressure sensation down there in my lower bladder.. At times I find myself getting up about 4 times before my bladder feels empty to fall asleep..
he has done urodynamics and also looked into my bladder through scope and said that nothing is wrong with my bladder and urthera,he first gave me vesicare for a month than enablex but condition still remains the same ,then i went to another general phyisican he sent me for x-ray of my lower back,results came out negative.my urlogist told me to go to neurolgist...
I am usually fine for about three hours or so, and then the symptoms naggingly start - first with the urge, followed by a non-voided feeling, then an urge, and so on till the night. I can feel the uncomfortability both in my bladder and my prostate area. The uncomfortability that i go through also depends on other factors such as sitting / standing / sleeping positions.
Fortunately, I can sleep through the night without having to wake up.
I'M ALMOST POSITIVE IT WAS BY MY PROSTATE AREA AND I DON'T THE EXACT AMOUNT OF THE STRICTURE..I WENT BACK TO UROLOGIST ON THURSDAY BECAUSE OF SOME BLEEDING, BUT HE CHECKED THE URINE AND SAID IT WAS ALL NORMAL DUE TO THE SURGERY AND WOULD PROBABLY CONTINUE FOR SEVERAL MORE WEEKS INTERMITTENTLY. AFTER GETTING THE SURGERY I REALIZED THE LOW SUCCESS AND HIGH RECCURRENCE OF THE STRICTURE RATES.

I had a urinary track infection last month and took 5 days ciprofloxycin course which cured it. After 3 weeks I had the same symptoms of burning and urge to urinate and the urologist did all the test and there was no bacterial infection. I also did all STD test and all were negative.He put me on Levofloxycin for 20 days with first 10 days with 500 mg and then 250 mg a day.There was not much of relief and the urge to urinate is still there.
t thrilled w/ the doctor in general but she said it was just anxiety and stress. I decided for a 2nd opinion at a urologist and she agreed stress was the biggest culprit but thinks I could also have an OAB. Mind you I had a clean UTI at all the doctors, a good exam at my gyn but she sent me for ultrasound which was normal, and I had blood work done for all things including diabetes. Although my glucose came in at 101 and under 99 is the norm it wasn't cause for concern.
which meant I had to return to my urologist....He gave me elmiron and vesicare to treat the IC....the Elmiron never helped my pain and, the Vesicare took my blood pressure from 113/72 pulse 68 to 153/103 pulse 122...I contacted my urologist and, he stated...that's not true ... neither of these meds would cause your blood pressure to go up...well, I called him back four days later...

Down side of Vesicare is an EXTREME dry mouth and I mean extreme but it does get better and now for me EXTREME constipation, I have been on it for about 5mths and I was warned by both the neuro and the uro that it can affect this part of my body, but I also think i have loss of some function there too which wouldn't help.
m currently waiting to see what they will do in regards to a fistula (hole) between my prostate and rectum. With this communication between the rectum and prostate, I experience a constant UTI. I came down with a kidney infection and pneumonia during the first week of March 2008. I jokingly told my wife that it would probably take a year before a decision to correct this was made. I have another in office follow up appointment on January 8 2009.
Hi, from all that you mentioned the one thing that could cause frequent urge to urinate is an enlarged prostate. The urethra tube goes right through the middle of the prostate and when it is enlarged it puts pressure on the tube cutting off the amount of urine being wasted. Its more of an emptying of the bladder that causes the urge feeling. You can have a urine stream test that will see of your peeing ok.
I was put on Vesicare 5 mg daily and also was taking fluoxetine for depression and anxiety over this condition. After taking the meds for awhile my symptoms went away and I was symptom free for 3 years. Because of the expense of the vesicare and because I was doing so well. I decided to stop taking both medications. My bladder was fine and normal and then about a year later the symtoms came back. So I am now back on the vesicare and the fluoxetine.
I kept with the Vesicare and when we came back I was pretty depressed to be home and had maybe 2-3 days within 2 weeks I had "issuses" of frequency lasting a few hours but then they went away. As of last Mon 11/1, after 3 weeks on the Vesicare and after being home for 2 weeks Iam 100% back to normal and I can't tell if it's from the Vesicare or because the anxiety from the trip has finally faded out of my body as well as the depression from having to come back home.

Fatigue and dry mouth and dyspepsia are frequent side effects of Vesicare but it is unlikely to cause any sore throat. Your sore throat can be due to some viral infection. Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day and use over-the-counter throat lozenges. Salt water gargle is also a good way to relieve a sore throat. In addition, you can take anti inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen and paracetamol (acetaminophen) after consulting your general physician.
t see a urologist until February. Again, urinalysis came back clean, prostate normal. He prescribed vesicare once daily, which hasn't really done much and seems to be decreasing in effectiveness lately. I went for a CT scan (no contrast) in March of my pelvis/abdomen to see if maybe there was a stone or something of that sort. That also came back normal. I have an in office cystoscopy scheduled in about a month (which I am kind of nervous about).
It does work, but I have just gone off it due to it causing major constipation and I mean major and now my burning has come back so I guess I will have to go back on it and use both Vesicare and something for constipation to make me go.
I wish there was something else I could take, and oh yep some bladder urgency is back too and some spasms, I must admit this has made me a bit down as I thought perhaps after 5mths on the drug that the problem might have gone away.
