I’ve gone through a few articles mentioning that diabetics with ED can use Generic Levitra (vardenafil). Is that true? If so, I’d like to know who has used Generic Levitra having ED and diabetes and is it safe.
The PDE5 inhibitors sildenafil, vardenafil and tadalafil are competitive and reversible inhibitors of cGMP hydrolysis by the catalytic side of PDE5.
Although rare, Viagra (sildenafil), Cialis (tadalafil) and Levitra (vardenafil) can cause muscle pain and unusual skin sensations or paresthesia. In clinical studies, Viagra caused muscle pain and paresthesia in less than 2% of patients. Patients who experience these side effects should stop taking the medication and consult their physician. These medications increase blood flow to the penis by inhibiting the enzyme phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5).
As far as your erection problems and the penile length issues are concerned, you should start yourself on a 5 PDE (Phosphodiesterase type-5) inhibitor like sildenalfil or vardenafil under the care of urologist and see how you do. Once you have taken a trial of this drug, do get back to me and we can take it from there.

I am so sorry this is happening to your family. I think it is a personal decision. I will need a transplant (kidney) in time and I think my family would step up if I ever needed one. I know I would be so grateful beyond words. I think you need to talk to the dr's of what this means for you and if it is a possibility. Know the whole story first before you jeopardize your own health. No one would want that. I wish you the best in this decision. My prayers are with all of you.
There have been a few cases of liver failure possibly related to the use of mesalamine (the active ingredient in Asacol HD), but I haven't read anything about fatty liver as a side effect.
A fatty liver, it takes between 6 months and 2 years to fully reverse. Dr Sandra Cabot's article "Fatty Liver - What Is Fatty Liver And How To Reverse It?
GGT is usually used to determine the cause of an elevated alkaline phosphatase (ALP). It is used in combination with other liver related blood tests. GGT is increased in most diseases that cause acute damage to the liver or bile ducts but is usually not helpful in distinguishing between different causes of liver damage.

I will make a couple of observations.
Generally with advanced cirrhosis the liver is not "very enlarged". Cirrhosis basically means that the liver is scarred and when there is a lot of scarring the liver shrinks and becomes hard.
m more familiar with, but they seem to leave a big question as to what is causing your liver disease. What does your doctor think is the cause of your liver disease? What kind of doctor are you seeing? If you actually have cirrhosis you should be seen by a hepatologist, but I'm not convinced of your diagnosis since it is based on an ultrasound. You might want to move this question from the hepatitis c forum over to the cirrhosis forum. We have good people on both!
non smoker male had a routine physical w/ lab work. All lab good except liver enzymes elevated. Lab repeated 1 month later enzymes same as month before, hepaptitis and other liver disease ruled out.. Ultrasound done, and that was fine. Was told over phone to follow up with a GI Dr. Why would I need to do that?

BUT NEGATIVE FOR HCV. SO THEY GAVE ME BENYTAL AND SAID I NEED TO SEE A SPEALIST. I DIDN'T GO SEE ONE. NOW IT HAS STARTED TO HURT AGAIN SO WHAT DO YOU THINK.
I'm a 30 yr old female. About 4 yrs ago, they found a hemangioma on liver while doing an ultrasound fir something else. This year they were doing another US for something else and they found 2 more. They are in the right and left lobe. The drs say not to worry, but i requested a follow up US. Can they tell the difference btwn a hemangioma and cancer. Really worried!
I had cirrhosis and had a liver transplant. I feel better than I have in ten years, there is hope for you, but you do have to get the facts.

t removing the diseased organ remove the virus or is it in our blood flowing through our bodies and only attaches to the liver? HCV is a virus in your blood and affects mainly the liver. When someone gets a new liver the virus starts to eat away at that one and that is why treatment is nesscary.
Also when you have a transplant do all the other things that accompany cirrhosis go away?
The liver is one of the only organs in the body that is able to replace damaged tissue with new cells rather than scar tissue. For example, an overdose of acetaminophen (Tylenol) can destroy half of a person's liver cells in less than a week. Barring complications, the liver can repair itself completely and, within a month, the patient will show no signs of damage.
Good for you on deciding to quit. I wish I had your judgement when I was 24. I'm thinking it would be highly improbable that you have cirrhosis, but you may have a 'fatty' liver from the drinking. First of all, don't worry. If any damage was done, it was probably very minor and your liver will heal very well because of your age and your decision to remove the offending toxin!
