Have you used Valsartan for treatment of hypertension patients in high risk patients? Are you aware about the combination Valsartan and Amlodipine to treat hypertension in high risk patients? How its is better than Telmisarton and Amlodipine combination?
-( 3 days on valsartan and I was having horrible side effects of dizziness, rapid heart rate, general feeling of crappiness, even slight shortness of breath with the slightest exertion None of which I experienced with the benazepril. Called the dr, he told me to stop the valsartan, don't take anything for 2 days and then back on the benazepril and see him next week.
My new VA doctor wants to change one of my blood pressure medications from 160 mg of Valsartan 2 times per day to an equivalent dose of 100 mg of Losartan but only once per day. My blood pressure has been controlled for years with typical readings around 118/70 using the Valsartan, Amlodipine 5mg, and a diuretic (hydrochlorothiazide 25mg). I have not made the change yet.
1. Why should I agree to experiment with reducing my primary blood pressure medication and what are the risks?
I am so confused because I have too many issues that can cause the same symptoms. Recently, my doctor switched me from Valsartan HCTZ to Hydrochlorothiazide plus regular Valsartan for my blood pressure. When I first started it, right away I was having rapid heart beat and shortness of breath so he told me take potassium supplements. That did help but now I am wondering if I am taking too much potassium.
I've taken Valsartan since 2010 successfully. It controls my BP well.
I am 53 and managed to NOT take any drugs dues to drug allergies in regards to the Elhers Danlos syndrome Type 3 hypermobility. What are the odds of the heart rupturing at my age if one doesn't take these drugs? Can a person stay on the lower side of the dose 25 - 50 mg's and still have them work in the prevention catagory? Any one out there taking either of these drugs for Elhers Danlos?
I want to know whether it needs to be performed immediately or there is any other alternative to CABG for this patient.He is now normal and doctors have prescribed him valsartan,atorvastatin,clopidogrel and aspirin capsules.
Could this be the problem of my high blood pressure. Recently I was put on Valsartan HCT and I feel awful. Tired spaced cold...
Does anyone have any input on this drug with a teen? Or does anyone have a child in this type of situation? Any input would be comforting to me.

As well as taking drugs to lower lipid production in the Liver, they added a drug to lower gut absorption of fats. This lowered my LDL even further and my trigs finally dropped into the recommended zone.
This will usually disappear gradually with the continuous use of the drug within 2-3 months. However, some patients complain from persisting cough for 6 months and even for longer time. A good alternative in this case is Angiotensin II receptor blockers (eg Candesartan, Telmisartan, Valsartan..).
Hello. Please be bear with me as I will try not to be too long. I have suffered with anxiety for years and just late last year have started experiencing panic disorder. I don't have a family history of high blood pressure but over the past several months my blood pressure has been abnormally high (for me). I went to the ER twice in a 30 day period because of a panic attack not realizing my bp was raised.
Instructions for Viagra, Cialis, etc. say not to take w/ BP meds. I'm thinking there are a cpl possibilities. Diovan (Valsartan) is available in different doses (20 mg, 40 mg, etc.), so maybe you could take a lower dose on the day you'll be using Viagra. Or possibly just skip your usual dose that day, then resume the next. However, your Dr. may not agree. I think the best strategy is to ask your Dr. about using these 2 drugs at the same time.
Meds are more effective than lifestyle changes for lowering numbers, but lifestyle changes can be of paramount importance, specifically if you are obese. Exercise lowers LDL quite well, but should be adjunct to drug treatment IMO.

I'm 32 years old, male and have had mild Vertigo symptoms for 9 months now. The symptoms of feeling like I just got off a boat are constant and happen 80% of the day, all day every day. I have never fallen over from it but it does greatly affect my quality of life.
About my medical past:
Had Bells Palsy in April 2014 on my left side of my face (MRI, CT, Xrays done to make sure it wasn't a stroke), cleared up by June/July 2014. Vertigo like symptoms started in August 2014..
