Avatar n tn Have you used Valsartan for treatment of hypertension patients in high risk patients? Are you aware about the combination Valsartan and Amlodipine to treat hypertension in high risk patients? How its is better than Telmisarton and Amlodipine combination?
Avatar n tn -( 3 days on valsartan and I was having horrible side effects of dizziness, rapid heart rate, general feeling of crappiness, even slight shortness of breath with the slightest exertion None of which I experienced with the benazepril. Called the dr, he told me to stop the valsartan, don't take anything for 2 days and then back on the benazepril and see him next week.
514349 tn?1272801633 //www.webmd.com/hypertension-high-blood-pressure/valsartan-losatran-bp-med-recalls-2018-19. Basically, the risk is 'very small'. If 8,000 people took the medication that had the NDEA in it every single day for 4 years, there might be ONE case of cancer in those 8,000 people. But since it can happen, they recalled it. And hey, I'd not want to take a drug that had potential cancer risk associated with it. So, I wouldn't be too worried over all.
459164 tn?1206363843 Hi, there is no such information which conclusively states that valsartan may cause cellulitis or increase its intensity or duration. Have you taken valsartan and also have a concurrent skin infection? If yes, have you talked to your doctor about it and taken any medication for it? Please keep us posted and let us know if you have any other queries.
Avatar n tn Vitamin B12/Folate profile,Full Blood count,TFT:on T4 replacement. Any thoughts?
Avatar m tn My new VA doctor wants to change one of my blood pressure medications from 160 mg of Valsartan 2 times per day to an equivalent dose of 100 mg of Losartan but only once per day. My blood pressure has been controlled for years with typical readings around 118/70 using the Valsartan, Amlodipine 5mg, and a diuretic (hydrochlorothiazide 25mg). I have not made the change yet. 1. Why should I agree to experiment with reducing my primary blood pressure medication and what are the risks?
Avatar f tn I am so confused because I have too many issues that can cause the same symptoms. Recently, my doctor switched me from Valsartan HCTZ to Hydrochlorothiazide plus regular Valsartan for my blood pressure. When I first started it, right away I was having rapid heart beat and shortness of breath so he told me take potassium supplements. That did help but now I am wondering if I am taking too much potassium.
Avatar n tn I've taken Valsartan since 2010 successfully. It controls my BP well.
Avatar n tn I am 53 and managed to NOT take any drugs dues to drug allergies in regards to the Elhers Danlos syndrome Type 3 hypermobility. What are the odds of the heart rupturing at my age if one doesn't take these drugs? Can a person stay on the lower side of the dose 25 - 50 mg's and still have them work in the prevention catagory? Any one out there taking either of these drugs for Elhers Danlos?
Avatar m tn I want to know whether it needs to be performed immediately or there is any other alternative to CABG for this patient. He is now normal and doctors have prescribed him valsartan, atorvastatin, clopidogrel and aspirin capsules.
Avatar n tn Could this be the problem of my high blood pressure. Recently I was put on Valsartan HCT and I feel awful. Tired spaced cold...
Avatar f tn Does anyone have any input on this drug with a teen? Or does anyone have a child in this type of situation? Any input would be comforting to me.

Avatar n tn As well as taking drugs to lower lipid production in the Liver, they added a drug to lower gut absorption of fats. This lowered my LDL even further and my trigs finally dropped into the recommended zone.
932718 tn?1288324930 You need this medication to keep the lipid profile the way it is. Furthermore, statins (cholesterol pills) lower the risk of a heart attack by their membrane stabilizing properties.
Avatar n tn This will usually disappear gradually with the continuous use of the drug within 2-3 months. However, some patients complain from persisting cough for 6 months and even for longer time. A good alternative in this case is Angiotensin II receptor blockers (eg Candesartan, Telmisartan, Valsartan..).
Avatar f tn Hello. Please be bear with me as I will try not to be too long. I have suffered with anxiety for years and just late last year have started experiencing panic disorder. I don't have a family history of high blood pressure but over the past several months my blood pressure has been abnormally high (for me). I went to the ER twice in a 30 day period because of a panic attack not realizing my bp was raised.
603015 tn?1329862973 I started going through withdrawals and psychological rebounds and such only a few hours after time to take one medication where I was forced to go through cold turkey withdrawl and it kept getting more intense and then after a while my psychological problems came back in full force worse than ever.
351404 tn?1299489130 I am taking 7.5 mg Cardicor (Bisopropolol) and Co Diovan (Valsartan) and diuretic 80/120 plus being taken off Warfarin and put on low dose aspirin. Following foot surgery last week, my BP dropped to 50/90 and pulse to 37-40. I was sent home but passed out and was readmitted for another day. I was advised to stop medications for a day. During that day I had normal blood pressure and pulse and today also, although I have taken the medications.
Avatar m tn Instructions for Viagra, Cialis, etc. say not to take w/ BP meds. I'm thinking there are a cpl possibilities. Diovan (Valsartan) is available in different doses (20 mg, 40 mg, etc.), so maybe you could take a lower dose on the day you'll be using Viagra. Or possibly just skip your usual dose that day, then resume the next. However, your Dr. may not agree. I think the best strategy is to ask your Dr. about using these 2 drugs at the same time.
1689583 tn?1387752394 I journal my experience and a little about Pharmasset in my journals which you can read at your leisure by going to my profile page. There are a number of us on this forum that have done the same. There is a discussion now on HepatitisSocial about this and someone from AU has apparently also been involved in the trials. I have no idea what is going on in Montreal nor when you would have access to this type of medication.
Avatar f tn Meds are more effective than lifestyle changes for lowering numbers, but lifestyle changes can be of paramount importance, specifically if you are obese. Exercise lowers LDL quite well, but should be adjunct to drug treatment IMO.
Avatar m tn About me: I'm 32 years old, male and have had mild Vertigo symptoms for 9 months now. The symptoms of feeling like I just got off a boat are constant and happen 80% of the day, all day every day. I have never fallen over from it but it does greatly affect my quality of life. About my medical past: Had Bells Palsy in April 2014 on my left side of my face (MRI, CT, Xrays done to make sure it wasn't a stroke), cleared up by June/July 2014. Vertigo like symptoms started in August 2014..
