Avatar f tn I am always tired, dry skin, my memory is terrible and i have weight gain and cold all the time. The doctor says its my age (45). When i get my blood test results back what is the normal rage for the TSH, T4 and T3. I went to see a naturapath and she agrees i have many symptoms of being hypo and thinks i should be on medication but my doctor is not open to trying. Is there any danger in trying medication just to see if it helps.
Avatar m tn No, her taking some valtrex prior to getting a blood test won't affect her results. If she had had hsv2 prior to her symptoms, her blood test would've been + regardless. At this point it's up to her if she wants to confirm her visual diagnosis or not. As petal already said, if this is herpes then it's a newly acquired infection from you. You could've contracted hsv2 from your very first sexual partner or even the last one you had prior to this one.
Avatar n tn I have had several blood test, am seeing an endocrinologist but I am not getting answers as to what my blood test results mean. My TSH is 7.097, FT4 is 1.10, TT4 is 7.4, ACTH is 6, FSH is 47.1. I'm on hormone replacement and have osteoporosis, and Vit D level is 18.6. Currently I am being treated for low Vit D level and that is all. I have no idea what else all these levels mean? It was suggested that I have hypothyrodism but after reading the symtoms, I really have few if any.
Avatar n tn I received my results today and I need help understanding my results. On the prolactin, 5 speciments results read No1 was 7.7, No2 was 63.4, No3 was 62.2, No4 was 42.8 and No5 was 41.1mg/mL. Are these in normal range or what do they indicate? On the TSH, 34d generation the 5 specimens read No.1 was 1.88, No2 was 14.31, No3 was 16.60, No4 was 14.55 and No5 was 12.70 miU/L. Can you explain these results to me, please?
Avatar n tn Normally simple blood tests results like hemogram, total cell count, complete blood checkup, blood sugar, electrolytes etc are available the same day. Some times the tests are done and the report not uploaded on the computer due to technical delays. So if you do not get them by tomorrow, yes, definitely follow this up. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar n tn If you had a fasting blood sugar of 116 that is high for a non-diabetic; if you had eaten within two hours before the test then 116 would not be cause for concern. Regardless, you should take the medications the doctor prescribed as indicated because you don't want your sugar level to creep higher. While you are doing that, though, you can absolutely exercise and change your diet and try to lose that weight.
Avatar f tn Most recently, they were interested that when they did a one-hour glucose test on me, the result came back that I had quite low blood sugar - my number was somewhere in the 50's. Yes, I did drink the whole bottle of stuff. For those of you who don't know, this test is looking to see if people have high blood sugar - an indication of gestational diabetes. Normal is somewhere around 100, and high is over 140. So a number in the 50's really is quite low.
Avatar n tn Is there usually a difference in the test results from blood drawn from the arm and blood drawn from the finger tip? I heard that the fingertip blood can test higher than blood drawn from the arm and I wondered if that is usually the case.
