Cardiologist stopped Bystolic and placed me on Metoprolol ER and performed an echo, ekg, stress test and myocardial perfusion imaging study. MPI study showed an anterior wall perfusion defect and he felt it was due to breast tissue as ekg, echo and other views on MPI were normal. Chest pains went away for about a week and now are back. I am concerned that maybe he was wrong. So my question is, can breast tissue block imaging and look like an anterior wall perfusion defect?
I am hopefully going to start treatment AGAIN for tussionex withdrawal and treatment. Pray for me. Any suggestions or any other people out there like me? I am so alone.
sober 20+ years in 12 step program. Take Tussionex for chronic cough, 1 tsp. per day. I don't abuse it by taking more. But, if
I don't take it every day I start to feel like I am getting the flu. Is that withdrawal, just the level in my blood is dropping off after 24 hours? Would appreciate anyone's input, especially if you have experience. Thanks and bless you all. One day at a time, because that's all we've got.
I have a bottle of Tussionex since the last time i was pretty sick. It was filled may 15 2008 and Im not sure what the expiration date is on it. would it be fine to take?
Had all the allergy shots available on the planet (allergies to dust/dust mites) and today, I read about Tussionex. I control my blood pressure very well with Adalat once a day. I'll be seeing my GP on April 8. I pray that Tussionex (taken only 8 hours or 12 hours prior to my show/s as opposed to taking the narcotic regularly - that's scary) would be permissible for me even when taking Adalat.
I took Tussionex for the first time at 11:00 pm after I took a Levaquin at 10:00 pm. I have bronchitis. I awoke suddenly from my sleep at 2:00 am and had no breath - and could not speak or call my husband although I was trying to say 'help'. I got my breath back after a minute or so and was pretty shaken up by this. I'm very tired but reluctant to go back to sleep if it happens again. I was pretty shaken up. Is this an allergic reaction or a side effect?
Last night and today, I have relapsed yet again on Tussionex. For the past two weeks, I have felt nothing but excruciating pain in my heart from so many losses. My divorce, my ex boyfriend and my recent ex boyfriend. Then, I used last night. I took a tablespoon of the tussionex and I felt numb. I felt happy. I felt like I didn't want to kill myself. So I took two teaspoons today. The pain is still nagging at the back of my head.
If cephalexin 250 mg/5ml oral susp is left out of the refrigerator overnight, is it still safe to take?
I just had a Stress MPI test and they found that my Ejection Fraction is 39%. Something about my Left Ventricle Wall having an abnormality. What does this mean?
1) 1mm horizontal ST depression at Bruce Stage 3. METS 10.2 (Slight chest discomfort)
2) Moderate to severe reversible defect in the distal to basal inferior & inferolateral walls of left ventricle
3) Stress defect represents 18% of the Left Ventricle by polar map quantitation.
4) Post stress Gated SPECT showed normal LV size & function with hypokinesia of Septum.
5) Post stress LVEF 58% EDV 103ml. Rest LVEF 56%EDV 95ml
Scheduled for an Angiogram in 2 weeks. Is the test results bad?
I just had a Lexiscan MPI NUCLEAR Stress Test. It showed a perfusion defect in my heart. I just had open heart sugery 5 months ago.(double bypass) I'm experiencing a heaviness in my chest and some chest pain, should I be concerned.
My addiction started around 1 1/2 to 2 years ago when I had a chronic cough and was given Tussionex - wow how I loved that stuff. It totally stopped my coughing and made you feel great. I took that stuff for heck months...until I was diagnosed with arthritis in my lower back - well as luck would have it I was prescribed Vicodin with has the same crap in it as the cough medicine Tussionex had. Well long story short I have finally come to my senses and gave it all up. I can do it...
For OTC cough syrup, I use Delsym (Dextromethorphan polistirex) or Mucinex (Guaifenesin). I've never had a problem with either, and I'd consider myself fairly sensitive to cold medications. When I need the big guns, I get my PCP to prescribe Tussionex (chlorpheniramine and hydrocodone) aka. "Liquid Gold". I love this stuff. It's expensive, hence the name. But you WILL stop coughing, and you WILL sleep!
im am addicted to this and hycodan at the same timw for about 3 years i take about a 1 1/2 to 2 ounces of tussionex a day i have drank 3 and 4 ounces in a day many times with ease thought and put any where from 2 tsp to a whole ounce in sprit and i never dont have a cup i also take klodipin i take 2 to 4 mgs a day and take at least 100mg of lortab about ten 10mgs a day but sometimes it does reach up to 20 tens a day plus the cough syrups how bad is my withdrawl for the codiene going to be i
One of the doctor told me to take MPI ( This is the test I got it done for same symptoms and they said my artires are like small baby).

I just had an MPI. I was scheduled for this because I've been consistently in bigeminy/trigeminy for a couple of years. I am asymptomatic and the bigeminy was caught during a routine visit. The nurse detected an irregular pulse and did an EKG which revealed the bigeminy. Since then, I'm more in bigeminy or trigeminy than a regular rate. My heart rate also runs in the high 40s to low 50s, occasionally jumping up to the 60s and 70s.

Well, tussionex is part hydrocodone which is a semi-synthetic opioid and part chlorpheniramine which is a type of antihistamine. So some people can be more sensitive to the hydrocodone (vicadin) part of the cough syrup. It is a fairly addictive drug and some people have genetics (an enzyme called cpy 2d6) that increases the duration the hydrocodone is elevated in their blood. This leads to exaggerated effects or feeling of euphora and other symptoms.
I was also given a three day regiment of azithromicin (zythromax) and Tussionex to control the cough. I was also given a DuoNeb. None of which seemed to work. After checking in with my primary care, i was given a flovent inhaler, to no avail. Following that, i was put on 80mg of prednisone, down to 60, then weaned off.
