Hello - I understand that oral with a person who is HIV+ is low risk, but would it be a good idea to take PEP anyway? My concern is the side effects of the Isentress and Truvada combination. I have the medication, but if infection is very highly unlikely, I think I shouldn't. Friends are telling me not to worry and doctor says it is up to me (which I know). Opinions?
of side effects and on day 5 of meds... Somedays im not sure I could take the side effects anymore...How permanent are these Side effects according to medical stats ?. I have heard some are permanent. I have had extreme fatigue on the meds...Depression, ringing in the ears, but EXTREMELY TIRED....however I am trying to stay on course... I was given pep for 28 days isentress and truvada side effects were pin sensations all over my body and the muscles in my legs dissolved. almost a year later I have hypersensitive feet pins and needle feeling in my feet and lower legs and pain in my toes as well pain in my legs. I thought when you stop this medication these symptoms go away how long can they stay because I feel like they are getting worse and not better.

I've had HIV for several years, luckily it was caught early. I started meds fairly soon after. I started Atripla in 2010. It got be undetectable quickly and has kept that way. I never had major bad side effects on it. I did have some crazy dreams and still do. After I was on it for a couple years, things began to slowly deteriorate. I began getting panic attacks, and bouts of tachycardia and palpitations. I had a history of those but it seemed to get worse.
I cant believe I just got over a scare and now this! My pep meds are Truvada and Isentress. The docotor said these were the best drugs with the least side effects but after reading things online the side effects sound like thiese drugs can really screw me up? Is anyone familiar with these - does everyone have these side effects? Are these drugs as damaging as HIV and should I stay on them? Is there any chance of me living through this??
I had a sexual encounter and they have put me on truvada and isentress for 4 weeks. It is one week over but I have very bad stomach. I usually have a chronic gastritis due to helyco bacter that I have not managed so far to get rid of.
My doctor said I could take Nexium 20 which is my usual medication for this matter but to try no to take it everyday beacaus of interaction with isentress but he is gone on vacation now and I have a really upset stomach and I dont know what to do.

I'm wondering what my HIV risk would be if my partner took off the condom when I wasn't looking. (I'm female.) He didn't ejaculate. He did ejaculate in my mouth once.
I had a respiratory virus/no fever about four days after the first exposure that lasted about 2 weeks. I had a few blotches that looked like pimples on my chest that didn't go away until today. These symptoms came and went in stages and were all very mild.
ll be the instance of acquiring HIV with such superficial and brief possible penetration. I began PEP treatment (Truvada and Isentress) within 48 hours. He never ejaculated throughout the night and I didn't feel pre cum at any time but I know that doesn't mean pre cum wasn't there.
Am I at potential risk for HIV transmission given he fingered me and may have caused potential tiny cuts combined with the brief/minimal possibility of penetration?
