tricor

Avatar m tn Wow, I wasn't aware of Tricor causing elevation of blood sugar. Seems I need to research Tricor a bit more.
237039 tn?1264258057 I had always said no to statins in the past because I had infectious hepatitis (not any type C, caught it from my younger brother) as a child and feared I had liver damage from that. But when the doctor called after that test I decided I would try Tricor. (fenofibrate I think is what it is) I took it for a month, then stopped, then again a month later took it for a month. Then stopped again. My brother jumped all over me this year and is forcing me to take it.
252327 tn?1250183976 Hey everyone, are any of you on synthroid and on Tricor? If you have been reading my posts you will have seen that I have been having problems with shortness of breath and palputations, Thinking it was my synthroid I started adjusting my dose. Then I did have a slight problem with peanut allergies. After not eating peanuts, the breathing problems and palputations continued. Last night I looked up the side effects of tricor ( I started them mid December) by Christmas the problems started.
822804 tn?1298226302 Have they suggested taking a statin? My trigs are actually over 2100. I take Tricor to keep these down.
Avatar n tn Its particularly worse combined with tricor. The pain actually feels like its in my bones at the joints. I have taken tricor for almost 20 years and I just started having this problem about 6-8 months ago. The pain in the morning makes me feel like I am 100 and my body is betraying me! This is what I noticed that changed. I initially started off on the brand name fenofibrate, Tricor - had no problems. Then they added Crestor(name brand) because that was the only people that made it.
Avatar f tn My husband resisted his suggestion of doing a cath, so he was given a prescription for Tricor 145mg. The doctor drew a diagram of the procedure that was used and in the area where there is apparently blockage a T was used to do 2 bypasses. The cardiologist seemed concerned that a stent may be difficult or impossible to place there. My questions are: 1: How can blockage occur so soon after surgery and should we expect more of the same in the near future?
Avatar f tn Ihave both hsv 1+2 but idont want to have a c-section my dr is going to put me on anti virals but im scared its not going to work anyone else have this or experience this?
5536886 tn?1455827346 I was just reading up on pancreatic cell transplant- apparently there was a patient in Italy that received a transplant of pancreatic cells, and unlike previous attempts, they have seen her insulin free for about 15 months. They created something called a bio-hub, here's a section of the article that talks about it: "They were able to do this by creating a mini organ called a bio-hub.
Avatar f tn Today is My due date n no sign of her coming, Dr. said My cervix isn't ready so I wld have to have a c section but I get induced Tues. Wat if it still isn't ready, feeling really overwhelmed & anxious, very scared to have to have a c section if My cervix still isn't ready... Just venting...
Avatar f tn My brother and I both have this and it is totally under control with meds for both of us. My triglycerides were over 2100 before I started taking Tricor. My brother takes Tricor and Lovastatin. Both of us now have normal readings.
Avatar n tn There is a very potent medicine in the drug class known as fenofibrates, named Tricor that was created to specifically reduce triglycerides. It works great, but carries the same warnings as statins. Also, Tricor should not be taken with statins but sometimes is in very extreme cases of total high cholesterol and triglycerides. My total cholesterol at the time was 486.
Avatar n tn In addition to that of course I have to take a statin and Tricor. Good news is that Tricor will have a generic out in May. I was also told by my pharmicist that Plavix has a generic coming out in July. Ask your pharmicist if there is a generic of Niaspan due out any time soon. And as Flycaster has stated, with the Niacin there is a flushing feeling also. It only bothered me if I didn't take an aspirin just before taking the niacin. My doctor told me about that.
4437866 tn?1388119624 I'm due the 4th of July and so happy! But worried about the c section since I've never had one... will be having it due to HPV and they won't remove the warts till after. I feel horrible about the warts because I didn't know I had it till I got pregnant and they are having a hay day. And the are still coming up... why won't they just remove them? I feel dirty. Any tips on how to beg my doctor to remove them and any tips on what to wear after the c section will be awesome.
745393 tn?1345077196 I have tried a lot of meds for this condition, have taken advicor, lipitor, crestor, zetia, tricor, provastatin, niaspan, gemfibronil. I have been on lovaza (omega 3,and 6 ) for the pass five months, but as you can see it has not helped very much. Heart doctor says I have taken the limit. All of these choles meds causes me to ache in my muscles very very bad, and dr. says this could be a serious situation. I need to know from someone please what can I take now ?. I need very bad to be on some med.
Avatar f tn Good afternoon everyone! Hub just got his 4 wk blood results and he is undetectble! Woo hoo!! Still battling the side effects, especially the mental ones, but there is hope. I have read him many responses and experiences from the forum here ( I use the search engine whenever he's having a tough time with a particular side effect, and am so gratified to see so many kindred spirits going through the exact same thing.) You have all been a huge help, and just wanted to let you know that.
Avatar f tn My due date is the 23rd of this month and my o.b suggested inducing at 39 wks. Well the hub says no and to let her come on her own. We have a 9 yr old and it'll be just my luck she'll come the week of cmas and I don't want to be in the hospital on cmas with another child at home or with family. So my question is What are some safe and natural ways to induce labor, if any?
Avatar n tn Thank you! I'm feeling very good too. I think me and my hub will try to very gently 3 weeks post partum. Because it's our anniversary.
Avatar f tn My first trimester I was terrified. I'm 16weeks now and I'm already ready to have this kid! I think mostly bc Im sick 24/7. Just hoping I don't get terrified again. I didn't like that feeling! I know I don't have a choice in how I give birth (vaginal or c-section) but I still can't choose on which I hope to have. Obviously vaginal means myself and the baby are healthy enough to deliver. I just still worry about the struggle! This will be my first.
782988 tn?1242685985 Can you add Tricor That is on of my meds for Cholesterol
Avatar n tn You can google the warnings and side effects of that one. I also take Tricor for my hyperlipidemia. But that is a fenofibrate, not a statin. Have you ever tried the grandfather of statins, Lipitor? Talk to your doctor and get the straight answers.
Avatar f tn My Tryglecerides are reading 300 and my cholesterol is over 200, I'm on 145 mg of Tricor and my prescription went up from 20 mg. to 40 mgs of Crestor; I was wondering what the possible side effects of taking these two everyday are. If someone would please write me and let me know. I would truly appreciate it.

4254325 tn?1355663975 Please keep us in your prayers. Hub baby and I will be heading up to be with them as soon as hub gets home in the morning. Expecting everything to go well but I still worry. My mom and gma are the dearest things in this world to me besides hub and baby. Thanks.
Avatar f tn I did even more research and figured out that I was prescribed Tricor about a month and 1/2 ago. I looked up Tricor's side effects and it seems that there can be a GERD type reaction and one commenter even said they had to go to the ER with chest pains. I stopped taking the Tricor and my GERD symptoms have much improved. I began generic prilosec and it didn't seem to help me. But stopping the Tricor has. My breathing has improved.
